The last two times I had Covid (not on a cruise but at home) OTC meds did not work for me except a nighttime med like Nyquil to help me sleep better. My symptoms were all sinus and fatigue, no cough. For me, extra tissues like the travel Kleenex packs are a must. When we travel we bring Pedialyte electrolyte powder travel packs and add to water. I live in Maui and our stores don’t carry these so I ordered on Amazon. These are great for electrolyte replacement and hydration. Especially for long flights and illnesses.
If you get dehydrated an easy remedy is to open up a can of coke to let the fizz out ,say overnight out of the fridge, it's got every thing in it to hydrate you.

Horrendous prices but what the heck.

We were on the Emerald straight after it's refit. Condition excelent except they didn't change the bed matresses., well not in our full suite, perhaps they were going to do it for it's TA. Entertainment not yet as it was before covid but OK. The bean counters have been at the orchestra ( band) as it's now down to a 6 piece in the theater.

Nothing wrong with the beds on Sky, now the Emerald well that's another matter !

Out of drydock 0630 GMT 26th Oct and bound for Southampton, in preperation for her last cruise this side of the pond, starting 28th Oct. Then onwards for TA on the 7th Nov. We are on this last one and will give an update when we get back, as to what was done to make her one of the best ships in the fleet. Long may the Grand class last.

The Emerald went into dry dock in Rotterdam on 11th Aug. and is due to start sea trials on the 26 Aug., on route to Southampton where she docks on 28th Aug for her last voyage this side of the pond. We are on this cruise and hope to see the improvements to her, this grand old lady of the fleet. Just wondering if the crew would embark in Rotterdam or Southampton. If Southampton, I guess there would be a lot of running round by them finding their feet. Any thoughts ?

I realize this forum is about cruising, but Princess Cruise Lines has had a long history with the UK and of course we see many Brit's travel on Princess, as well as Aussies, Kiwis, and Canucks.
Queen Elizabeth was Queen before I was born and has been a constant all of my life. Her legacy is unmatched and I doubt future generations will ever see this happen for a long long time. I do hope that young children are taught about the Queen and her life for a long time to come. No matter what anyone thinks of the Monarchy, how can you have anything but admiration and respect for this woman?
My condolences to all of our UK friends that belong to Cruise Critic. I am sure you feel the loss most of all. Hope you have a great remembrance of her life in the days to come. You certainly gave her a grand celebration of 70 years on the throne earlier this year. No one does it up quite like England. We'll be watching.
Thank you for your message

No problems on the Sky Princess with the USB sockets on each of the bedside lamps. Charged Iphomes OK If you forget to pack your charging lead, customer service will lend you one.

I snap regardless and am not wasting too much time sorting or explaining the pictures. Captions are the time consumer. My enthusiasm will wane with sleep deprivation. But thank you for your concern.

Once your allergy is on your app it comes up on the screen the restrurant staff use. We were in club class and each evening the hostess would come to the table with copy of the next days meal menus for you to choose your dishes so that they are very aware of the problem.

Tried the bidding system pre covid on NCL. Won't be doing that again, too much hastle.

Nice to get away from the bread rolls. Surly other things are getting better.

Escargot. While people who are not from France think that the word refers to a specfic dish, in fact it is a generic term for all edible snails. Yes various flavours are used and they are served in those dimpled dishes but the best way is still in their shells with the sauce on the side. No you can't substitute the snail for anything else and still call it escargot. Happy chewing fellow cruisers.

Maitre'D is a thing of the past, as the name is sexist. They are called diffrently now, being male or female. lol.

We had the same problem a couple of days ago on the Emerald for the Canary Islands in Oct 2022. It went back to normal 6 hours later but with a price increase !!!!!!

Be nice if "chat" was available in the UK

In the days of yore you could trade in a mini bar set up for 2 coffee cards with 15 speciality punches and as much normal coffee you wanted. If and how does this apply to the Medalion. Dw and I are both elite and are booked into a full suite so we get 2 set ups, love to in trade 1. So question is how to do it. Thanks.

Had that message most of Thursday 28th all now well again in the UK. Just another Princess glitch both on trying to enter the app and web method. Hope all is back to normal in AUS.
