Thank you. We do have a suite which had a separate bath and a large walk in shower with a door.

In this case there is a slight step, about 4inches as you get into the shower. Unless you have an handicap suit where the shower and tub are replaced by a wet room.

  2. Finally got the FCC for a fully paid for cruise we canceled, sail date 30th May 2020. We had the the monetary part back just after we canceled it. We have also had the deposits back for 4 cruises which Princess canceled. Now dare we book something for late next year so as to use the FCC of about 2 grand ?

"Passengers should be advised to avoid the use of the elevators."

Great if you only need to travel a deck or two. Not so great if you eat dinner on deck 5 and your cabin is on deck 14.

Hope that there will be a controller outside every group of elevators, marshaling people into them. "watch my wheelchair". Has cruising finished for lots of Princess passengers ?

  4. Well  https://www.healthygateways.eu/Portals/0/plcdocs/EU_HEALTHY_GATEWAYS_COVID-19_RESTARTING_CRUISES.pdf?ver=2020-07-01-115942-557 was quite a read  I guess that a fair proportion of Princess passengers will fall into the section

.2.High risk groups As long as the pandemic continues, special precautions may be applied to passengers and crew belonging to high risk groups. Passengers in high risk groups including people over 65 years of age or people of any age with underlying medical conditions (chronic diseases including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory diseases and immunocompromised individuals) should be advised to visit a doctor for pre-travel medical consultation to assess if they are fit to travel. Activities and services on board cruise ships could be organized according to age group, so that older individuals are separated from other age groups. Crew members in high risk groups could work in positions where there is little or no interaction with other individuals. Moreover, advanced respiratory protection may be used specifically by crew members belonging to vulnerable groups.

    Us 2 included.

I received 28th June  FCC for 1st March 2020 sailing, I was expecting if to be more as it was a 21 day cruise, and we have to sail by 28th Feb 2021!! Hopefully it can go towards payment of our November cruise Singapore to OZ but I think possibly that won't go ahead.

Still waiting on refund for the cruise though, which Princess cancelled 15th February. I am now going down credit card route, as I think 137 days is way to long to wait for refund.

Hi pines I had an email from a Princess rep a couple of weeks ago with the promise that he could extend the FCC another year. Try talking to them and get the customer service person to confirm with their supervisor ( shout loud)

  6. I had a bunch of full deposit refunds about £2k to credit cards today covering 4 cruises sail dates between AUG 2nd 2020 and Nov 6th 2020  which Princes canceled.  Well done for that Princess, but I'm still waiting for promised FCC for cancelation charges for a cruise sailing date May 30th 2020 . Anyone been waiting for FCC to show up in their captain's circle account from that far back ? 😬

  7. Has any one who has booked a cruise in the UK had a refund and or FCC since canceling it due to the pandemic?

In march Princess issued a notice which included a paragraph regarding people with pre existing medical conditions being denied boarding. Subsequently that paragraph was deleted.

Upon reading this I canceled all 5 of our cruises for this year. The first cruise which was to have departed on 30th May which had been paid in full was partly refunded to my credit card with a promise to put FCC to my account,( some 25% of the cruise cost) This FCC to date hasn't happened. The other 4 cruises between dates 02 AUG and 06 Nov were canceled with the promise of  refunds of the substantial deposits to my various cards again to date nothing has happened .

What are your experiences ? Thanks, but as I say only UK bookings.

NCL has posted how their cruises will be different in the future:

Having read that NCL is doing a refit of their aircon filters, I wonder if Princess is also going to do the same ? It's always been a concern of mine that the aircon system could be the route of onboard bugs.

This is so typical of getting different "shoot from the hip" responses from Princess telephone reps.  This type of misinformation from the phone reps has been endemic with Princess for years - nothing new.  On April 14, Princess published a 5 page document they called  "Health Advisory and Travel Safety Procedures"  On page two they listed three criteria which would cause a PAX to be denied boarding.  The third criteria stated that if a PAX has a "underlying severe chronic condition" the PAX should contact Princess for further direction.

Yesterday, it was observed that the 5 page document had been edited and they removed the third criteria.  The revised document only states that you would be denied boarding if you had been around someone who probably has Covid-19 (my language, not their precise language.)  Or if you presented at the terminal with a fever or flu like symptoms.  The underlying chronic condition criteria is no longer listed a cause to deny boarding.  The revised document narrows Princess' focus to those who potentially have Covid-19 at embarkation.

You can read the entire five page advisory from Princess here:

    https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/plan/Health-Advisory-and-Travel-Safety-Procedures.pdf

OP, get somebody on the phone who knows what the current requirements are.  I'd be interested in knowing when you had that conversation with the phone rep.  I wonder if it was when they still had that third criteria.

Has anyone got a copy of the original document before Princess removed the paragraph relating to denial of boarding due to underling serious medical conditions and if so would they please scan it and post on this forum.

  10. We are in the UK so perhaps the web site is different. When booking a handicap cabin select your cruise and there is a tick box for this type of cabin , if you don't tick it then then only the available non handicap cabins show up. If you tick the box then only the handicap cabins show. If all have been taken then a note comes up saying so.

  11. Yes they drop down from the ceiling , you will be a bit cuddly  in the cabin so will probably have to send 2 people out for a walk about while others do their niceties unless it's 2 adults and 2 kids. Ah the days of long ago when sardines were the thing !

  12. I've often led both bible study and the Sunday interdenominational service. For the bible study just let the cruise director know by a note to him/her, via passenger service desk soon after you board. For the Sunday service it's best to take a letter of good intent from your local church secretary. If you are fortunate to have ( and if he is still around) Lee * as cruise director then shout for joy in the Lord.
