  1. pjk, yes thanks. I called Sebago and they told me they would do this. The lady on the phone was very nice and even told me that the website would actually allow this, even though it says you can't. The only thing is if for some reason the Power Adventure would be cancelled the next day (bad weather), then you would have to pay regular price for the sunset cruise you did the night before. Which only makes sense.

    can't wait!!

interested in the sebago tour but the time won't work for our port time. has anyone experienced this before? are they able to shorten it

  2. we have booked a day tour bestjamaica to secret falls but i'm thinking our time there will be only a couple of hours. i'd initially thought we would do the tubing but the family veto'ed that LOL they want to see falls. doing some research and it looks like island gully falls is also in ocho rios. anyone with an opinion of island gully or another falls that is in route?

i can't wait until the darn search feature is fixed

    thanks in advance

  3. debating between staying the full day and using the pool at the turtle farm ($45 p/p) or doing the less expensive turtle farm thing and heading over to Royal palms. thought maybe i wasn't the only one whos interested in the menu at schooners.

can anyone tell me where the restaurant / bar is located in relation to the pool? are there servers or would we have to head to the bar each time we wanted a drink?

if you'd done the $45 adventure tour what did you think of it? i can't wait until the search feature is fixed!

  4. I'll add a plug for a few more only-in-Cayman items:

Logwood is a type of native wood with a dense, deeply coloured core. It can be crafted into some visually striking objects. Each tree is unique and the variety of available products can vary. Check out Cayman Logwood Products

Cayman cuisine is often flavoured with fiery Scotch Bonnet peppers (aka habañeros). Pepper Patch produces gourmet pepper jelly, a homemade treat only available in Cayman. It is sold through various gift shops and grocers.

If you are touring the eastern districts you will find Beach Bubbles Cayman out in Bodden Town. They make handmade soaps in a variety of scents. Take home a few bars and let the tropical smells remind you of your cruise when you are back home and the snow is falling.

Caymanite is a colourful native stone* which is shaped into pendants and other jewelry by several local jewelers. You can find examples for sale in several shops in George Town.

*OK, maybe not strictly an only-in-Cayman thing as some deposits of Caymanite have also been found in Hungary. I think you'll only find Caymanite jewelry in Cayman though.

** DISCLAIMER: As per usual, I have no stake in any of these companies, financial or otherwise.

Great info!!!! Thanks for posting :)

  5. Once you make the changes be sure to have it documented and keep a copy with you when you board. Also regularly check that it doesn't change. I booked a starboard side room and Carnival changed it to port side under the weight machines. I didn't think of checking before the cruise but I did have the confirmation papers for the starboard side room that I originally booked with me from the previous month but it was too late once I boarded.

I am not happy with Carnival and I have a cruise on the Dream again in Feb in a port side Cloud 9 cabin that I can't change. This will be the last Carnival cruise I take. They obviously don't care about their customers when you hear about chronic problems like this that they don't try to fix.

Good luck making the change and hope you have a wonderful cruise.

    Cheers!

thanks for the advise...hoping to hear back from the TA this morning. i can't remember if we ended up with early saver or not. if so it'll be another $50 p/p for the cabin change which really bites!

when they are promoting serenity it doesn't make much sense to have the gym above you, duh!

    thanks again

  6. If you are on the Dream then YES they are. We were in the cabin next to 11220 and we and our neighbors were VERY upset all week. Those cabins are directly under the leg and arm machine weights. Constant banging and shaking of the walls and ceiling throughout the day from 6:00AM to 11:00PM. I doubt there are noisier cabins on the ship. You want to change those immediately if there are still cabins available on the starboard side.

    Cheers!

thanks so much!!! we switched cabins so that we wouldn't have to move for the b2b and after trying to find cabins that were available near / next to each other for both sailings i forgot to check what was above us. i'll email my ta now....this will be our 3rd cabin change. thats why i like to book myself so that i can make the changes without having to bug anyone. ughhh

  7. thanks for all the great replies

i'll talk it over with the family and see who wants to give it a try. my hubby and i aren't interested but i think both girls are. was hoping to get more info on ccl vs booking independently ...the money we save could be used on pictures / dvd

thanks again and feel free to continue to reply

  8. We have done it in three ports, the best by far was Puerta Vallarta. I think they called it a dolphin encounter. We spent over a half hour in the water with them. Swam on their backs, them upside down, did tricks and more. Fantastic time.

Thanks for the quick response jimbo

Did you book through CCL all 3 times? Which other ports did you try?
