  1. Unlike airlines where passengers don't spend any money flying it's the opposite in cruising. From excursions, drink and dining packages, etc. Also, don't forget money gambled and lost in the casino.
  2. I'll tell you one thing. there were some 400 D and D+ on my Easter sail on Anthem and the Crown Lounge was like a morgue. There were more kids in the Lounge than adults. Also, lunch with Officers event there was more senior staff than actual attendees. Usually, this event is very well attended. The Pinnacle event was separate and don't know what the turnout was.
  3. Yes, my favorite.as you can see it in my signature.😊
  4. It's to penalize early diners as it allows only 30 minutes in the Crown Lounge.🤣 The hours on Anthem were 4:30-7:30 PM.
  5. On my Easter Anthem sail the traditional was 5 early and 7:30 for the 2nd seating. MTD was set at 6:45. Keep in mind that on many Oasis classes traditional early dining is at 5.
  6. At about 10-10:30 we were given 2 options by the Concierge--100% refund if we made the decision to leave at that point or a 30% refund if we stayed. We chose the latter options as we expected the weather to clear. However, weather did not improve and most of the beds went empty. At about 2-2:30, I guess either the Concierge felt sorry for us as we were bundled with towels to stay warm or some sort of instructions from the higher ups.
  7. I was one of the earliest to get off and it was partially sunny. At about 9:30 one could see heavy dark clouds approaching. The weather pattern changes so quickly, and we stayed and braved the rotten weather. The Captain, in the latest announcement mentioned that it was going to clear up in the afternoon. Every time it seemed to get brighter, it was followed by a deluge. We had day beds at Breezy Bay and my grandkids were huddled and covered with towels. Well, it never stopped and even the umbrellas and the drapes were no protection against the rain. We gave up at about 2:30PM. The good news I got refunds in OBC for the total costs and including the tax. Ps. Allure was with us in Nassau and in Coco Cay.
  8. Shorts and polos are my dress code for the MDR, except for the formal nights I wear dress pants and shirt. When with my kids/grandkids I bring and ask my male kids to bring a sport jacket for family pictures.
  9. Why are u picking on men. 🤣many years ago the soft ice cream machines were in the Royal Promenade on Voyager classes and there was waste all around the machine area. Also, on some the machines were outside the WJ. On Anthem now and only 1 machine and lines non-stop. Only 2 person serving.
  10. You also get get perks on points earned during a sail.
  11. Positive cash flow is king.
  12. Yes, for cruise planner purposes.
  13. I've parked outside lot many times and never had a problem. I'm sure there's security there as there is for the covered lot. The only problem which we encountered the last time in October is that they changed the way parking payments was handled. You prepaid at the entrance and their little portable charge gadget was so slow (print receipt) that it created a huge back log. Previously, you paid at the kiosk upon debarking and exited upon presentation of receipt. When I sailed on February 9th since there was only Anthem, payment was at the kiosk.
  14. No problem with parking with 2 ships. When sailed in August there was Oasis and Liberty and they opened up the outside lots for overflow parking. However, 3 ships would be a problem.
  15. Not familiar with the Baltimore harbor and wondering any possibility of tendering passengers to shore.
  16. Kiddingly, I've complained on this board that in Royal's eyes a 13-year-old is considered an adult for fare purposes but does not accrue any adult benefits. Heaven forbid if they saunter into the Solarium.🤣
  17. I was lucky, was passing by and got on with no reserve. Ps..Hope you don’t come back to this😜 February 9th sail.
  18. If you get a chance do the North Star while in Bayonne, it’s awesome. IMG_2166.mov
  19. I've been on Anthem and experienced quite a few incidents and always made it on time back to Bayonne. One time coming up North she deviated to Bermuda due to an illness/accident. Another time coming back from Halifax, (last stop) near Connecticut we had to wait for a Coast Guard helicopter to drop needed blood to an ailing passenger.
  20. Living in New Jersey I’ve sailed Anthem many times. Will follow you on Easter sail with family members. Advantage is that I’m 25 minutes drive to the Bayonne terminal.
