Been down at the bar "on vacation" for awhile. Johnny Walker Blue Label and some Veuve champagne. She's gone to dinner now, and I came back to the cabin to unwind from the day. Big day in Cozumel tomorrow, but wayyy too short. I'm going to have to edit my plans, as four and a half hours is much too little for my all time favorite island. I'm definitely hitting the East side bars, and hopefully a couple of places in town. At least we'll be parked right there in San Miguel, so I can make it back to the ship on time.

I remember a few years ago, I was doing the Cozumel Bar Hop, and we got back to the drop off point. I wanted a bacon and lobster sandwich from Le Chef, but there was very little time. The girl Colleen from the bar hop called my order in and I ran over to the restaurant to pick it up. When I made it back to the pier I was about ten minutes till "all aboard". I sat there and finished my sandwich and ended up being the fourth to last person back on the ship. At least there were others who were later than I was...

We love Cozumel too - and have vacationed there 3 times!  If you ever want to spend more than a day there, I can recommend a great place to stay, right in Centro.

It’s been way too long since I’ve spent time there.  I’ll be back in November, and bringing friends to the East Side.  Can’t wait 🙂

I have no idea why we are discussing using Switch Health's RT-LAMP tests to board an RCL cruise.  Why won't you just get a free antigen test at a CVS or Walgreens on the day you arrive in the US with results in 15 minutes?

Canadians entering the US via air, need to provide a negative rapid test result before boarding the aircraft.

Are you just planning on doing these tests after you disembark and are back in the US? I was looking at these as well, wondering if we will have our results back, we have a 2:45pm flight back to Canada

Switch Health indicates that results will be emailed to you, within 45 minutes of uploading result reading for verification.

We will be buying RT-LAMP tests to use for our April cruise.

Update ***  We were very successful with Blue Cross.  The lady my husband spoke with was very helpful.   Yes, Blue Cross insurance will cover cruise travel (we are in Ontario)  There is a special on right now until September 30 - travellers under the age of 75 can purchase a 17 or 31 day travel insurance for the cost of one trip insurance.   We have 3 cruises booked in the next 6 months so this was a bonus for us.

It’s my understanding that Blue Cross will cover medical expenses related to Covid-19.  I don’t think they cover trip interruption/cancellation or quarantine, should you test positive on your way back to Canada.

It's so confusing as different cruise lines have interpreted CDC rules differently.

I know that Carnival does not state an interval limit between doses, as long as it's Pfizer/Pfizer, Moderna/Moderna, or Pfizer/Moderna OR Moderna/Pfizer.

I wrote to Christine Elliott and did not receive a response. I also wrote to my MPP (Merilee Fullerton) without a response. Doug Ford responded and said "we need a two dose summer blahblahblah".

I'm booked with Carnival and their November/December protocols will be announced next week. Thats good because my final payment isn't due until Sept 27th.

I honestly have no idea what I'm going to do. My annoyance as of today is based on the added cost to enter the US ($40 X 2) and enter Canada ($199 X 2). Right now the $150 fee (plus $160 since I'll need a PCR test, not antigen test) that Carnival will charge me to be "unvaccinated" is not even a concern for me.

I hope it works out for you and that they consider you vaccinated.  You’ll have to apply to be accepted as an unvaccinated guest, otherwise.  Have you found cruise insurance to cover your trip?
