     Hello,

My wife & I have been looking into this same tour for our stop over the summer. The website states that the tour starts at 8:00 pm and lasts for approximately four hours. We have been to many Caribbean islands, but never Cuba, and never out on the town that late at night. Did you feel safe? Were there a lot of people from your cruise on the tour? How close to the port/ship did they "pick you up and drop you off" at?

We were a large group, many from our roll call, and some folks who were on vacation in Havana.  I always felt safe in Havana, day and night.

The tour meeting point is in a park across from La Floridita.  Maybe a 10 minute walk from the ship.  Easy to find 🙂

I hope this helps.  Enjoy the tour!

  2. It is my understanding that Carnival no longer provides bed toppers.

For my 14-day cruise with friends, I am purchasing a hiking mattress, since I'll be on the couch.  Perhaps you might consider something similar as well.

We just scheduled this for our upcoming Cuba cruise (in three weeks 😎!). If you don’t mind, how much did you tip per person? Did you purchase any food/drinks? Approximate cost?

    Thanks!

I think I tipped Cesar $10.00.  We purchased drinks at each stop.  We spent maybe $30.  Sorry, can't remember exactly.

would i be able to pack a small air mattress or something? im thinking my poor 20 year old and his back issues Ugh

I will likely order this, since I'll be sleeping on the sofa bed for 14 nights.

That makes more sense.  Every cruise line seems to recommend this option, probably because the agents in the terminal have no clue and are simply following instructions.  If you're using a ship excursion, it's the correct choice.  If you're going out on your own or booking a private tour, Support For The Cuban People is the more appropriate option.  But, no one will ever see your affidavit again, so I wouldn't sweat it if the cruise line wants you to check P2P.

We fully intended on selecting SFTCP, but we're directed to selected option 1 - which fit just as well.

Are you saying that Carnival told you to select the Self Guided P2P option?  That's the second option on the form and the only one I see that even comes close to your description of a third party tour.  Had you booked this cruise prior to June, 2017, or did Carnival not realize that this option is no longer valid?

olbro, selecting Support For The Cuban People is far and away your best option.

    My mistake!

We selected option (I had to go back and read the affidavit)

Do you remember by any chance what did you on the certificate? we have booked the private guide in Havana but there is no such option on the guest certification. Tried to call customer service but its like talking to kids,,, no actual help. Or will be anyone on the ship to advise? Going in 10 days and stressed already)

We seleceted option 2 on the travel affidavit (third party tour).  This is the option Carnival asked us to choose.

  8. I traveled to Cuba on the Paradise in August.  I had to pay the $75 visa fee.  We booked a private tour for our first day with Blexie Tours.  Yofren, our guide, was fantastic!  Second day, we ventured around Havana in our own.  Awesome couple of days in Havana!

  9. Loving your review. The last day just plain sucks! Happy that you have another booked soon!

If it's any help, I just recently left a job I grew to absolutely hate. I clean houses now, and will build my business up slowly, on my terms. While not glamorous, everything is my say, my way. Very empowering. Take a chance and make a change!

  10. I have noticed that March 19 & 20, 2019 NCL & Azmara are both coming & leaving port at the exact same hour. I'm thinking that is impossible. Does someone know for sure?

There are 2 berths in the port of Havana. While on the Paradise last month, we were docked with the Empress of the Seas.
