Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We were on Oasis November 5th to 12th and experienced the same issue. It was so intense that we noticed it as soon as we entered our room after dinner on our first night. When i pulled back the curtain to the sliding door, it was so strong that you would have thought the slider had been left open. It was closed and locked. Our room attendant was in the hall and when asked to come in , he noticed the smell right away. He immediately got on the phone with his supervisor and explained how intense it was. I was told that they would look into it. The problem continued so I called security on nights two and three and was told that they take it very seriously. Unfortunately It continued to happen at random times often preventing us from enjoying the balcony in the evening.
  2. Hope the following info helps save some of you a little money today. We are sailing out of Cape Liberty on the Symphony of the Seas, May 31, 2024. We have two cabins booked. Today I repriced our cruise and was surprised to find a better price. We called rccl and after a bit of back and forth and a disconnected call, we saved $355 on our Ocean View with Large Balcony. We also upgraded our daughters/boyfriends cabin from an Ocean View Balcony to an Ocean View with Large Balcony for $66 dollars less then previous cabin. I believe that had we left her in the OVB, there would have been a few hundred dollar savings as well. These cabins are not Guarantees, we chose our rooms.
  3. Should have mentioned- the Anthem was a close second to the Symphony as a favorite.
  4. Oldest is Monarch newest and favorite is Symphony Looking forward to sailing on Oasis in November
  5. I agree with OSCS Mike's BBC. If you can, find a bar that will use fresh banana. Coconut Mojito form Boleros Lavender Martini from Schooners
  6. The Symphony is a beautiful ship. We really liked it's layout as well. Central park is lovely and there is live music in the evening (solo guitarist for example) You will find bars and some specialty dining there. We especially enjoyed 150 Central Park. Playmakers is a sports bar over in the Boardwalk. For a smaller upcharge you can enjoy a really great burger. It's a large portion. Next time we will share. El Loco Fresh is included and yummy as well. (gets crowded) The soft serve machine on the pool deck is a popular spot. The Solarium is a quieter, more relaxing environment. Its for ages 16 and up only. Its our favorite spot on sea days It has a nice bar. Make sure to check it out at night when its lit up. The Solarium Bistro is good as well. . The running track on deck 5 has some quiet seating with ocean views as well as shuffleboard and Ping-Pong. Shouldn't have told you because now everyone knows lol Trivia is fun at the Schooner bar. Oh! Their Lavender Martini Boleros - Coconut mojito; my before dinner cocktail The comedians are usual good as well. Don't miss the Aqua Theater show! Speaking about shows, make whatever reservations you can before your cruise. I think this can be done for some but not all entertainment at about 30 days before your cruise . Also make any specialty dining reservations you might want. ( you don't have to wait until 30days before to do this) You can make them when you first board the ship but I'm not sure how booked up they are by then. Log in to your cruise as often as you can to check the prices for drink packages, dining, excursions etc. Maybe you will catch a great sale. These are just some of our favorite things about the Symphony. There is so much I didn't cover or missed. I'm sure you will get a lot of feedback here from other cruisers and I hope it helps you plan a great cruise.
  7. Symphony! We will be on the Oasis in November and I'm hoping we love it as much. The Anthem is a close second; so beautiful we went on it twice.
  8. We have been on two ships with solariums- the Anthem and the Symphony. We loved both solarium spaces and thought both ships were beautiful. I might give an edge to the Symphony because that solarium is so pretty at night (and also because I fell in love with the Central Park space)
  9. My husband and I are in our 50's and aren't quite ready to make the move to Celebrity yet. We still enjoy the feel of a ship that has both families and couples. However, a ship with an adults only solarium is a must. It's a calmer area for relaxing and we always have good luck finding loungers. You have the convenience of a bar and the Solarium Bistro as well. The Anthem and the Symphony are two of our favorite ships. The Central Park area on the Symphony is so very lovely especially in the evening. Beautiful live plants and trees, cricket sounds and accent lighting really set the mood for this outdoor spaces bar and live music in the evening. We also really enjoyed sitting here for early morning coffee. Hope this helps 🙂
