Its a pity that society has come to this, no respect for others. We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise just before the pandemic and were trying to celebrate a significant wedding anniversary in a speciality restaurant and there was a large family seated not too far from us. They let their toddlers run around the restaurant the entire time, screaming at the top of their lungs without any attempt to quiet them down. (We are parents and grandparents and we understand that to a point kids will be kids, but this was over the top too much.) We quietly complained to the waiter who called for the Maitre'd, but they both did nothing to ask them to alleviate the situation. They are too afraid of offending their customers. What they did for us was refund the money that we spent on the speciality restaurant, but that didn't solve the problem. I am sure that the entitlement feeling by the passengers that you encountered were no different from our experience. I would have suggested to quietly complain to the Maitre'd, but thats all that you can do.
