  1. We were on the Beyond in February. It is a beautiful ship. It was gorgeous. We did, however, not like the infinite balcony nor the food set up with the 4 different main dining rooms. The Eden and Steakhouse were fantastic. We spent our time while on the ship looking for Captain Kate and on the last day finally met her and have a picture with her!
  2. With the new Starlink wifi, Zoom/Facetime will work no problem.
  3. Totally agree. We too have been on a lot of cruises and some noise is expected but this is way beyond (no pun intended) what should be.
  4. Ear plugs! We shouldn’t have to use earplugs for all the money spent on a cruise. Funny thing is someone at guest services offered us earplugs and I found that insulting!
  5. Furthermore, the ship should be taken off line to correct the problem. But they won’t!
  6. I am on the Beyond as I type. They have done nothing about this. I too have recordings and ship management does nothing.
  7. Don’t get me wrong the Celebrity Beyond is a beautiful ship but staterooms have a lot of noise. Any speed above creeping, the creaking and banging noises get worse and worse. We are told that it’s because the ship is “new” and it’s due to settling. The ship is more than 6 months old. Shouldn’t the settling be done by now? During the day you don’t pay attention to the noise but at night when you are trying to sleep it keeps you up. The banging is not occasional, it is constant. Ships management know about this but they seem to not be able to correct the problem or not want to correct the problem. I know we are not the only ones having this issue. If you are at all a light sleeper don’t book your next cruise on the Celebrity Beyond. You will regret it.
  8. So to answer the burning question about internet at sea, is Starlink any good, we are on the Celebrity Beyond as I type and we have the premium internet package . The Beyond advertises that it uses Starlink. I have done speed checks in a number of places on the ship and we average 105 download and 30 upload. This is the best that we have ever had on any cruise. We did a FaceTime call to our grandson back home last night and it was perfect. We have been watching Netflix as well. So the answer to the question is yes, it is very good!
  9. What's the internet on the Beyond? We have the premium internet package, will we be able to stream videos and do wi-fi calling?
  10. Its a pity that society has come to this, no respect for others. We were on a Royal Caribbean cruise just before the pandemic and were trying to celebrate a significant wedding anniversary in a speciality restaurant and there was a large family seated not too far from us. They let their toddlers run around the restaurant the entire time, screaming at the top of their lungs without any attempt to quiet them down. (We are parents and grandparents and we understand that to a point kids will be kids, but this was over the top too much.) We quietly complained to the waiter who called for the Maitre'd, but they both did nothing to ask them to alleviate the situation. They are too afraid of offending their customers. What they did for us was refund the money that we spent on the speciality restaurant, but that didn't solve the problem. I am sure that the entitlement feeling by the passengers that you encountered were no different from our experience. I would have suggested to quietly complain to the Maitre'd, but thats all that you can do.
  11. We flew AC Rouge once and I agree with you, never again. As for our flights, we booked them through Celebrity when were making our cruise reservations. At the time, they were the least expensive that we could find.
  12. YOW used to have pre-clearance. I don't know about now. When we were arranging for our flights to Fort Lauderdale for February 2023, we couldn't get direct flights so we opted to drive to Montreal and fly direct from there.
  13. Interesting, we'll be on the Beyond in February and we'll be wearing masks. I agree that it would be real nice to not think of Covid, but with cases going up, we are not going to take chances. In the past we used to always come home sick after a cruise, then we started wiping down surfaces (remote control, etc.) with disinfectant and we stopped getting sick. For the coming cruise we will have had our 5th covid vaccine (at least), flu and pneumonia shots and we will still wear masks in public spaces except when eating or drinking.
  14. We've been on many a cruise(mainly Celebrity and Royal Caribbean and never had an upgrade. Lucky you!
  15. I disagree with the statement that threads such as this are more valuable. I called and spoke to an agent who spoke to a supervisor and they both assured me that my early seating would be honoured. My paperwork for the Beyond says, early dining (6:00 pm) and that’s what it will be. If Celebrity were to change a policy as important as this without telling customers in advance it would be the biggest catastrophe for them and their customers.
  16. Agreed, this is very upsetting to me. I am currently on hold to speak with Celebrity customer service to find out what is happening.
  17. Interesting about this "change" because they are still offering early or late dining options on the website when booking a cruise. What gives?
