IF you are ok with the possiblility of spending 4 nights seeing the sights in the Tampa area instead of cruising then I would say go for it....chances are you will be fine...but you just never know...is it a direct flight?
-
I was on the Brilliance last Feb. & thought the food in the WJ had really gone downhill....happy to hear things have improved!
-
I was on the Grand last Sept....my 1st cruise on Princess & I thought it was fine...didn't see anything that looked especially run down....will be sailing her again next Feb. and looking forward to it!:)

They still have the entertainment in the Centrum until late in the evening....I had that same cabin a few years ago & even WITH earplugs its pretty noisy...
-
Room Service now has a $7.95 fee except at Breakfast....
-
Depending on which ship you are sailing your room service menu may also be on the TV, instead of a book...
-
He wouldn't have given you a slip to sign because there was no cost. Thus 18% of nothing is nothing
I was given a slip with a zero balance several times last month on the Brilliance when using my drink vouchers in the evening...I simply handed them back with a $1 folded in it....but the tip line was there if I happened to not have cash on me...
-
Or just take a $10 or $20 directly to the cashier.
You can also give the cashier your Seapass card and ask for cash. They will charge you a 5% fee for this unless your account is set up as a cash account.
I was on Brilliance earlier this month & tried to get cash from the casino on my Seapass card & they would not give it to me...only chips for the tables or a voucher for slots....so I took the voucher for slots...put it in a machine...and then hit cash out.....

Wish I were sailing with you....I would happily buy you a drink after all you have been through with this! Hope you have a wonderful cruise!

I was also on the 2/7 cruise with Gail. I spoke to the taxi dispatcher to find out about what they offer for transportation to EWR. He said shared transportation was $20/pp. Taxi dispatcher folks are stationed at the exit from customs to arrange this (they are no longer across the drop off lanes on the bus island).
Apparently the local taxis/shuttles are all staged in the large open parking lot across from the parking garage. This means you would have to be able to roll your luggage just a bit to get to them. Probably not much more of a walk than getting to the opposite end of the bus islands.
Is this also where I would ask for a shuttle to Newark Penn Station?

On Brilliance last week it was on the TV...no paper menu

I got an email Statement today too...mine was correct $0 balance...course knowing Royal it's possible I'll receive an "updated" invoice tomorrow...
-
Labadee is Royal's private island & pretty much a beach day...excursions are not really necessary unless you prefer to be more active.....otherwise grab a beach chair...a cold drink & enjoy the view...
-
It's open in the evening after you leave port...you only have to be a few miles off shore for the gambling to be open...
-
Yes, on Freedom now and got a flier offering LV to either FLL or MIA. Sounds like they have a new company they offer it through. Price went up ($25 pp, believe it used to be $20 or so per stateroom), but not charged baggage fees by airlines for overweight bags if you use the service.

It's always been a per person charge for luggage valet...and you were allowed 2 suitcases per person...some folks would just sign up 1 person & 2 bags for the luggage valet & then the other person would print out their own boarding pass...either on the ship or at the airport...
-
Once again Royal's customer service is giving incorrect advice! Asuuming the passenger's in question are US citizens the passport card is fine...actually they would be ok to sail with a certified Birth certificate & Drivers license since it is a closed loop cruise...so the passport card is even better...

You supply your own clothes/make-up. If you have a white or black t-shirt some eye make up, lipstick, and baby powder you'll be good. We all looked like homemade zombies but that added to the fun.
Thanks...I'll add those items to my packing list...:)

It is a lot of fun. Have done the flash mob "Thriller" on the Independence. Both times had 3 classes and a rehearsal. Once we performed in Studio B just before the Quest and once in the atrium. On the way to Studio B I'm wearing all black with my hair coated in baby powder. Not one word was said. Leaving the performance I'm in the elevator and a British woman looked me up-and-down and with a smile said "I see we have zombies on board." "Yes" I replied "We are everywhere!" Do join in. It's lots of fun.
Sounds like lots of fun!! Did you plan ahead & bring the clothes you needed or do they provide anything for costumes? I'm on Anthem in Sept. & may just give this a try...:D

I just sent an email to C&A to confirm. I board Brilliance on Monday and would love to avoid getting a drink at a bar to take to the dining room.
Let us know what actually happens on the Brilliance if you try getting a drink with your voucher in the MDR or the WJ...what C&A say's & what actually happens onboard are not always the same thing...

We are on the same sailing and received the exact same check in times! I thought the same thing, isn't 3:45 cutting it a little close when sail away is at 4:30??
Those check in times are suggestions only...you can check in starting around 10:30 am usually...and boarding is around 11-11:30...

Uber would be far cheaper. You can go to Uber Estimator and get a quote and pick your type of car. It cost us $20.

Uber was $96 for 3 people & luggage...
Typically we recommend booking a car service like Dial7 or Carmellimo. A more budget option would beIndependent driver - 888-816-0973
$100 is excessive. What company quoted you that?
Dial7 quote was $97 for 3 people with 5 pieces of luggage... Most companies I did online quotes with are showing we won't fit in a "standard" vehical

Are there any van size taxi's that pick up at the Newark airport hotels to Cape Liberty that would hold 3 people plus luggage? I'm guessing that is something the hotel should be able to arrange for me? Private car service is coming in at around $100 + tip...rather not spend quite that much

Great review & pic's...I will be on Brilliance for the 3rd time in a few weeks.. looking forward to another trip on her!

Can anyone tell me about the midship OV cabins on deck 7? I have cabin 7618 booked for next Oct. but now I am thinking my view may be seriously blocked by a lifeboat....there are plenty of cabins available, so I could switch if anyone has any suggestions....tia!
