One of our favorite cruises was on the Spirit (room V27). We had a great view, barely any obstruction, and a great location. Sure am sad that the ship moved to Australia (we were on the second to last US trip - 9 days out of San Diego) as I'd take that trip again in a heartbeat. Enjoy the ship and your trip!

I bet they're having so much fun, taking so many pictures, and enjoying all the sun and sights that they forgot about us. It is easy to do; I've been guilty of this a time or two myself
-
Sure is! My son, when he was 17, was "allowed" to gamble (they didn't ID him, but the moment he started winning... let's just say he walked away pretty sad ;-)

I've successfully brought/used a small shower basket that suction cups to the wall before. Since it's "empty" in my suitcase it doesn't take up much room

Know that although there is a kids menu in the MDR, they are welcome to order off the adult menu, or mix n match. Adults have also been known to order the banana split off the kids menu...EM
And know that you have to ask for the kids menu. Last cruise we sat a table with 2 other children (7 and 9 if I remember) and they didn't know the kids menu existed until the last night. I still feel bad for not bringing it up the first night, but we were the last to the table and I figured parents were just encouraging (slightly) healthier eating habits. They enjoyed their dinners but were so excited to see the kids menu that last night

Wait, what? What's trollish about this post??
I only have 2 posts because I just signed up to Cruise Critic because I just booked my cruise last night.
I'm asking these questions in good faith, and if I've broken a board rule, I apologize.
I don't see it either, but while I've been around for awhile, I'm not a prolific poster or reader so maybe I'm missing those red flags... That said, I do know that your questions HAVE been answered in threads in the last few months

I believe that you can each attach a credit card via the online cruise manager, or deposit cash once on board, to your specific S&S cards. That way you will each be totally responsible for your own charges.
Have fun!

Great points by all! I feel much more comfortable with the idea of possibly changing rooms to accommodate friend #3 (it's a large group cruise in celebration of a completely different friend and our room is currently the only one where the inhabitants aren't married and wanting "alone time" ;) ). Yes, ideally, she'll choose to come AND will find someone to share a room with her so friend #2 and I can keep our awesome 4J, but I'm not going to be the one to tell her that if not, she can't come (she surely can't afford a private room). In the end, we are going to be spending most of our time enjoying each other's company while exploring warm, sunny locals. I was just worried about my sleeping spot, but it sounds like there is no need for that. No matter where I end up, Carnival's got me covered :D

Seems a bit odd to me too, but I suppose it's just like when I'm watching ABC and see ads for some cable channel or Netflix

Fine points from you both! We did book early saver... and the only OV rooms available are ont he 1st and 2nd floors. I'm someone who would prefer to take the stairs all the time, but I'm positive that person #3 would NOT be able to do that. We could upgrade to a balcony, but that would mean more $$$. Fingers crossed that person #3 either springs for her own room or can find a #4 to share that room with her. (I would really like her to come - in her own cabin)
Thanks for your insight :D

I'm currently booked in a 2 person 4J (super happy we scored this room!), but recently found out that there is a possibility that a 3rd friend could join us. If this happens (and we are feeling generous) we could add her, move to a regular inside room, and save about $150pp on a 7 day cruise. BUT this would mean that one of us would have to sleep on either a pull down or sofa bed... What are your thoughts on this?
I'm just thinking ahead, haven't even brought up the idea to the other two (one currently booked with me and the other thinking about joining in on the fun). The new 3rd guest could not sleep on a pull down (mobility issues). I really like the carnival beds, but have never tired a pull down or sofa bed and it's pretty likely that I would be the one to get the 3rd "bed" as I'm the most healthy/flexible/mobile of the three. Are they just as comfortable?
Thanks for your help :)

I'm booked into a very nice "interior w/ picture window" room. This category recently sold out. Is there any point in still checking the sailing for price drops and/or OBC promotions? Can I price match with a higher category (if the price drops below what I paid) but keep my room? Can I price match with a higher category (if the price drops to what I paid) and move rooms - not my first choice, it would have to be a nicer room which would be quite the move up in my opinion.
Thanks for your help :)
P.S., I am happy with my room and what I paid, our tip is just still so far out that price checking over the past few weeks was keeping me busy ;)

Sounds exciting! Enjoy:D

I was told by a customer service rep that they automatically split it up unless you ask them not to while on board
-
Great questions! Can't help you with the first as I've never even thought about moving within the same category. Your second question: no, it's not automatic, you'll have to call or fill out their Price Protection form at https://www.carnival.com/core/requestforms/priceprotection.aspx
Have fun!

Any new news? Can't wait to find out and cant wait to sail.
Darn, I got all excited hoping that someone was posting with some new info ;)

So glad I could be of help :D I remember trying to find my # when looking to book my 2nd or 3rd cruise and it took me forever to figure it out. Why there's a space... I have no real idea. I do know that when I go to submit a price protection form it won't take my last name at all. Luckily, I'm always traveling with someone who has a more "normal" last name and I can do the form in their name.
Anyways, have fun on your trip :D

I have experienced it after every cruise. Usually starts 2-3 days after returning and last for a few days. I don't like it, but find it helps to think of it as a reminder of being back on the ship (like my cruise was a week longer than I paid for :D )
I have heard that it can get worse with additional cruises... not sure about this but so far it hasn't deterred me. I too have heard that taking some more motion sickness meds can help, though I haven't felt the need to try as the "rocking" hasn't hurt my tummy like the actual ship can.
Hope you feel better soon

Thanks everyone :-D

That is a bit annoying... When booking I tried to use a carnival gift card before using a credit card to pay the rest. It took the gift card and just applied it as OBC (we've gotten more via price drops) so I was hoping to get my original $50 + half the new OBC on my card and her half of the OBC on her card. Guess she'll just owe me $...
-
I had a similar problem, but it turns out Carnival put a space in my last name (always screws up my price protection form  ). I have a last name like McIverson and they spell it Mc Iverson. Could this be causing your problem? If so, it's super easy to fix the missing cruise part of your problem.
Good luck!

I am cruising with a friend and we have accumulated some OBC, is there a way to split it on to our S&S cards? Would it be easier to, let's say, put all of it on my card and just give her her half in cash? Can we do any of this online or do we have to call? (neither of us have set up our spending accounts yet so I can't see if there is a way to do it)
You guys are great :D

Awesome!
You can google "Carnival price protection form" and it comes right up, or go to: https://www.carnival.com/core/requestforms/priceprotection.aspx

I was checking the price of my upcoming cruise and while the price is the same, I see that they are now offering $50 OBC. Can I claim this on the price protection form?
Thanks for your help :)
4J room curtains?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Hello all, I was wondering if you can tell me about the curtains in 4J rooms. Do they just have the blackout curtains or are there sheers also? If no sheers, do you think I could bring some and a tension rod? I'm thinking that I'd love the morning light but would rather not have anyone who stumbles upon the forward deck to be able to watch me sleep. If it makes a difference, I'll be on the Glory.
Thanks for your help :)
