We have obstructed view cabins that have lifeboats in front of them. Today morning, at 7.55

Am we were awakened by banging, welding and the sound of steel being cut. My kids - 8 and 12 - started crying as they thought the ship was sinking. A

Were your children in a cabin on their own?

"New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is famous for its signature “cat pee on a gooseberry bush” flavour – a mixture of cat urine, tropical fruit and green aromas. It is believed to derive in part from thiols, organic compounds containing sulphur. Levels of thiols can be affected by the temperature of fermentation.6/05/2015"

I am surprised to see that the colour (color) strip on the luggage labels for our next cruise are bright orange. I would have expected that the Club Orange people to be assigned that colour. Anyone with any experience of this?

Grrrrrr.....autocorrect! That should be stripe. So busy dealing with colour/color that I did not notice the change.

We will have 4 stars on our belly when we cruise next...in October.

Can those that have already earned their coveted 4th star, enlighten me on how one takes full advantage of the wine tasting?

Do I sign up?  Do I get an invite?  The fine print says "James Suckling wine tasting".....Is that all of the wine tastings that I see on the daily program or just certain ones?

You will receive a printed invitation to one of the tastings. You take that with you.

Funny story!  I had one of the 3rd deck cabins with a window.  One morning I thought a women was trying to look in my window.  I then realized she was using my window as a mirror and was combing her hair.  She didn't see me but I surely saw her.

We did close our drape at night.

We were in one of these cabins on the Prinsendam. One morning I was sitting on the 'windowsill' admiring the view. A young officer suddenly stopped outside the window just cms away from me. He checked his appearance in the 'mirror', tucked his shirt, took out a comb and did his hair, then moved on.

  7. Daytime dress is casual. Shirts/cover-ups and footwear are always required indoors.

Most evenings smart casual attire is appropriate. Shorts, pool and beachwear, distressed jeans and tank tops are not permitted in table service restaurants.

On Dressy Nights we take it up a notch and recommend slacks, skirts, dresses, blouses, collared shirts and jackets.

Jeans, shorts and T-shirts are only allowed in the casual dining restaurants.

We have not sailed on HAL for a good while since the smaller ships were sold. We are looking at possibilities to return to the Mediterranean next year and there is an itinerary on Oosterdam that is similar to another cruise that we have booked with a different, smaller ship. We sailed in a Neptune before and thoroughly enjoyed that experience. We have not sailed in a HAL signature suite. There are two Neptune cabins available aft. Both positioned the same with one deck difference. 7151 Is one of them. I cannot tell from the schematic if this location is a true aft balcony or a side balcony. I also am not sure what is located next to it with the empty space having a circle in it. If anyone could describe what this location is like I would appreciate it. There are also mid ship available, but an aft view is something we have not experienced if that is what this suite holds. Thank you

This is an aft wrap cabin. A large, long L-shaped deck. The view from the cabin is aft. There is no space next to the cabin - I suspect that the 'circle' that you can see is the symbol for a triple room capacity - king bed that can be made into two singles and a sofa bed.

(goggle a site that has 'HAL facts' for photos of these cabins and verandas)

First time HAL cruiser here and our cruise is 35 nights. We are thinking of buying the unlimited laundry package which states wash dry and fold. Will we also have to buy the unlimited pressing? We have read conflicting information where some folks say their laundry comes back pressed without buying the pressing package and others state it’s only folded and still needs pressed!. Can anyone who’s previously bought the unlimited laundry package please clarify.

It is ironed, then either folded or put on hangers. You state what you want.

We did the Amazon on the Volendam in 2019 & absolutely loved it including getting stuck on a sandbar for 7 hours. We're looking forward to our return this fall and have booked many private excursions like we did last time. My blog has all the details (https://timmerBrazilplus2019.blogspot.com)

We were on with you. Fabulous cruise. Included the launch of the French rocket as dinnertime entertainment.
