  1. You could also get the brewed coffee for a punch on cards from other cruises. Many people say that's a waste of a punch, but DH only uses the card for unlimited brewed coffee. We now have 4 or 5 cards with no punches, and one that is over 6 years old with just 2 punches. We're taking a 10 day Caribbean cruise followed by a 5 day, and we're not going to buy a new card for a 5 day cruise. He's just going to use up punches on the old card.

Sell the cards with all the punches on eBay or give them to cruisers like me who only use the punches for lattes & cappuccinos and does not use the brewed coffee! I would love them for our upcoming 26 day cruise!

  2. Well said Pam. Times they are a changing and with the charges now for luggage on flights people are bringing less clothes too, I know I am. My husband still brings a business suit for formal night and does not mind dressing up. I prefer dressy pants suits to a dress, but you will see both.

  3. We left Venice on a TA the very end of November and it was very cold and wet. We had a lot of flooding in Venice and could not get to Murano or Burano because the water taxis could not get under the bridges as the water level was so high. We wore waterproof warm coats in all ports except the Azores. Do not expect warm temperatures in December!

  4. Love these cabins! Have stayed in them 3 different cruises. Only noise is dropping anchor on a Tender port. Love being close to the IC and also fantastic when coming back from port excursions - no elevator wait for you! There are a couple near the door to the IC that are HUGE inside cabins! Check these out!

  5. Thanks so much we are doing TA and the first Baltic on the Royal in April and I am so glad we can bring on 4 bottles for us. This is so fair and I appreciate being able to show them and they can deliver the other 2 on turnaround day - that would be perfect! Thanks so much for reporting on this for those of us who had questions!

  6. The bar by the Horizon court has always been able to give iced tea. I think mainly because they are so close by. On the cruises out of Houston the International Cafe kept a pitcher of iced tea because so many Southerners requested it. But when on the CB out of NY - they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked at the IC. So I asked for a hot tea and a big plastic cup of ice and made my own! I had a coffee card so this was free.

  7. I wasn't aware that "serving a minimum of 2 years" meant reserve duty without being on active duty for 2 years or 6 months in an active war zone. I'm happy that he gets it for his service & just didn't know it qualified...good to know. :)

"Veterans with an honorable discharge serving a minimum of 2 years or 6 months in an active war zone , or an educational discharge if within 90 days of their normal separation date in any of the applicable service divisions listed above".

I think because National Guard can be deployed at any time, their service is recognized. My husband was in the National Guard 6 years and was activated twice, both for weather, they patrolled to prevent looting. Princess has always given us military credit as he has a DD 214 and I faxed it in. It is on file with Princess and we have never had to ask for it again, it is automatically given with every cruise we take!

  8. It is important to remember that, depending on where you travel, your medication may have to be in its original bottle from the pharmacy.

I have never found that to be true. We have traveled for 42 years and never questioned anywhere in the world! I always carry mine in individually tiny ziplock bags labeled "morning" and "night" and never once been questioned. YMMV

  9. Save yourself and your house from vinegar steam. This product is great, and probably what they use. It's organic, made in Italy, and not too sweet and not too sour.

You can find it at Costco or Amazon.

I love the bottle too by the way!

And it's thick. I currently have 6 bottles in my cupboard and I'm a finicky foodie. ;-)

I have never seen this at costco. Does it have any added sugar or is it just vinegar? Seems kind of expensive too!

  10. As an FYI, the Princess honey mustard dressing in the dining room is delicious. They don't promote it but it's a light mustardy dressing. Not thick or heavy. I often order a large salad with grilled chicken and honey mustard dressing for my entree. :)

Yes Pam, I like that one too! On the Crown we had a creamy Italian that was yummy, but is not offered on all ships.

  11. You can easily make your own balsamic vinaigrette by googling recipes online. I make my own and my family loves it. Much better than anything you can buy. However, I do remember this dressing on Princess and loved it, too!

Not sure how they got it so thick - probably with gums and thickeners that are not good for us, but it sure tasted good!
