  1. Dave thanks for all of the great information. I am so looking forward to our 26 days on her in April for the TA and Baltics. I sure hope Beatlemania stays on for our TA! I will stay tuned for your final week, hope it is as great as this last week! I can hardly wait to have that chile lime crab cocktail!

  2. The tiny peanut butter chocolate cups in the demitasse cups is to die for! On a somewhat healthier note, the bran muffins are great! If you hold one in each hand maybe they cancel each other out? You can also get a nice fruit, cheese and nut plate in the afternoon to drink with your evening glass of wine. You have to ask for them to make it up, but they will and I always write up the person that does this for me and at the end of the cruise give them a little extra tip in one of the envelopes. The staff at the IC is pretty consistent.

  3. You can also order a larger birthday cake if you check with the maitre d. There is a charge with this larger cake, but they are really gorgeous and worth the price if you have a large party celebrating. The ones that Princess provide free of charge are very very good! They can serve up to 4 very tiny slices!

  4. My sister had one on the Riviera deck - last one by the door and loved it. She did say the door slammed some, but she loved being so close to the pool and felt like she had her own private balcony. She said she would book the location again! On the same cruise we had none of the larger sideways inside rooms on the Riviera deck and really enjoyed the extra space!

  5. Just a thought - how about make a sign like the Princess Rep will be holding with her name on it? Would be easy to do as you can lift the Princess Logo off their website. Blow it up, print it and put it on one side of a round sign made of cardboard, and on the other side SURPRISE (whatever her name is) you could use a paint stirrer for the handle.most of us women run to the restroom after getting off the plane and you could get the sign out while she is in there and surprise when she comes out. Sounds like fun!

  6. Hi Gwen...do you take 12.5 mg or 25 mg of meclizine HCI? The reason I ask is that Dramamine Less Drowsy's active ingredient is 25 mg of meclizine HCI so could it be the larger 25 mg dose that makes you sleepy.

Mine are 25 Mg and are scored so you could easily cut in half. Dosage says you can take 2, but one has always done the trick for me. If they made you drowsy, you could cut In Half and try again. It is such a bargain from the pharmacist and you have to ask, but do not require prescription.

  7. For those in the US - if you have a SAMs club -go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist for a bottle of meclizine - the generic of Bonine. $5 for a bottle of 200! I have never been drowsy with it at all. Now Dramamine - even the less drowsy- it is a great sleeping pill! Ginger capsules are available in the vitamin section at CVS or Walmart. I am still on my first bottle of meclizine! Works like a charm!

  8. You can call the dine line to book any specialty restaurants when you first board the ship. Princess does not allow booking online before the cruise departs. The menus for the main dining rooms are posted outside the dining rooms every day so you can decide if you want to eat in that venue or choose the buffet or specialty dining room.

If you are in a suite you can dine in a specialty dining room for free the first night of the cruise. You can also eat breakfast in Sabatini's each morning if you are in a suite.

On boarding day you can eat a lovely sit down meal in a dining room till 1:30 PM. The dining room serving will be listed in the daily newsletter called "The Patter" which will be in your room when you first get onboard. On sea days you can eat a wonderful Pub Lunch for free usually in the wheelhouse bar - it will be listed when served.

If your ship has an International cafe all the food is free except for gelato. Coffee also has a charge. This venue has wonderful breakfast treats including a made to order egg mcmuffin. At other times it has great salads and panini's that they grill. They have a soup of the day also. Try the shrimp and chicken salad, they are my favorites! The bran muffins are great also!

  9. Very few. Bring some hot sauce with you.

It really depends on the head chef at the time. We were on the Crown in December of 2012 for a TA and then again on the Crown in Feb. 2013 and they had different head chefs. The TA had very bland, under seasoned food. The Caribbean cruise had wonderful well seasoned food. Same ship, two months apart, different head chefs!
