  1. Thanks everyone.

What roomtype at Gallery One would you recommend? The Water view king suite is only $12/night more than the city view.

They have a pre cruise package at $169 which includes accommodation with Complimentary Continental Breakfast for two people. Transportation included for two people from hotel to Port Everglades only between 11am-2pm. Would this be a good deal?

    Thanks! :)

  2. Hello,

We are doing a Panama canal cruise in October next year, and looking at either staying at Hilton Fort Lauderdale or GalleryOne.

The MARINA STANDARD GUESTROOM - KING BED at Hilton Fort Lauderdale and CITY VIEW-BALCONY-LIVING ROOM- 1 KING SUITE at GalleryOne are the same price.

Hilton Fort Lauderdale has a cruise shuttle and breakfast package at $179/night. I know the hotel is not far from the port, and we can easily get a taxi or shuttle. But, is the cruise shuttle and breakfast package good value?? Or would we be best off just booking a room?

We want to be of walking distance to restaurants, and water taxi stop. We also plan on doing the Jungle Queen morning cruise or afternoon island cruise.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :D

  3. We got our room assignment! We booked an inside room, ID category. We got an ocean view obstructed, OW category on deck 8. We are happy.

Now 2 more days till we can be on the Ruby once again.

Yay for getting upgraded! Have a fantastic cruise!

  4. Beginning of day 8 and in port Puntarenas Costa Rica and looking forward to the aerial tram tour through the rainforest. The canal transit on Thursday was amazing to see. We watched most of the transit from our balcony but did occasionally pop out on deck and wandered around. Temperatures were around 92 and very, very humid. Will provide more pictures shortly. Quick review of our shore tour in Cartagena. We did the canoe's through the mangrove grove and waking tour of old town. Very disappointed in this tour for the most part. It was about a 45 minute bus trip to where you board the canoes with a quick photo stop at one the forts along the way. Once you board the "rustic" canoes the is little or no explanation along the way except your boat pusher saying "white mangrove", "black mangrove", "white bird". Once you see one mangrove they all look the same. They do stop for a brief net fishing demonstration which is done for donations. Back at the dock you are offered some coconut juice and they do a couple of dances again for donations. The remainder of the tour is a couple of brief stops at shops and a very short walking tour through old town which winds up at the emerald mine museum/jewelry store. While the tour guide was very nice and informative we would not recommend this tour.

Service continues to be excellent from all the ships crew. We did dinner at the Bayou Cafe on Thursday night and the service and food was great. Highly recommend the New York strip steak and my wife said the lobster was also excellent.

Looking forward to seeing photos of the canal transit. :)

Did you book a ship excursion or independently, for Cartagena?

    Have fun in Costa Rica!

  5. Thanks guys for the feedback.

    Tom's website is excellent! :D

I really enjoyed your photo review, Colo Cruiser. Coral Princess looks like a lovely ship! Thanks for sharing! :)

The photos and Tom's website convinced us that cabin E736 was the best cabin to get, so we grabbed it while it's available! :D Eep so exciting.

    Thanks again!

  6. Offer is not transferable and is available to residents of the 50 United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Bermuda and the District of Columbia who are 21 years of age or older and receive this offer. Fares quoted in U.S. dollars.

You're right. This isn't available for Australian residents. :(

My cruise agent was able to get us a further discount on our current oceanview cabin booking or $200pp off a BE balcony cabin.

We thought this was a bargain, as it meant the price difference between the oceanview and BE balcony cabin was small. We have gone for the balcony cabin! Score! :D

  7. This sale does not apply to all cruises. Find one that has SALE imposed on it and click on that to access the details.

The amount of OBC depends upon the cabin type and length of cruise.

I know the Panama canal sailings are included in the sale, our sailing specifically but can not see SALE on any of the cruise itineraries; however I can see that rates have reduced for our Panama canal sailing. I will see how much OBC is on offer.

Click on "View Offers" underneath the prices when the first screen with all of the prices for all cabin categories come up.

    !

Thank you for the tip, I will do a mock booking and see!

  8. Maybe the programmers forgot to turn on the pricing when they left for the day yesterday? I'm hoping to see everything appear at some point today but I haven't even gotten an official email from Princess about the sale yet. I have a held reservation made under the last sale and will lock it down when I can see how it all prices out with the new sale.

Possibly. Who knows?? I have had another look and I can't see the ad banner that people speak of. The new released Panama canal sailings that were showing earlier for the rest of 2017/2018 are no longer showing.

    Patience is a virtue, I suppose! :D
