Backing up a tad....
John and I were fortunate enough (just dumb luck) to experience a mass and the flying botafumerio (sp?) at the cathedral. It was truely an out of body experience. Some of the charm was that, although we were not seated together (lucky to just get in), was that we sat together with "pilgrims' of all social status, folks in heel and suits and assorted clergy. Truly a cross section of humanity. Made the experience all the sweeter!
Ranks right up there with fav excursions...
Truffle hunting with dogs in Tuscany and flying our own falcons in Scotland...
We're blessed!

Thousand Journeys in the Chart Room
Dover sole served table side
Cheese cart (in Princess Grill) if they're still doing that!
Fish and chips in the pub as well as tika masala (sp?)
Any beer in there as well. Drafts are great as are the selection of British brews!

We're onboard now, having boarded in Copenhagen and are leaving tomorrow. I have a garden variety cold....Other than the last couple of days our weather had been abysmal. Rain, cold, SERIOUS wind and some sort of odd stuff that fell out of the sky in Glasgow...mist? fog? dew? .Actually my husband spotted a few stray flakes early one morning. I KNOW I, along with probably a lot of other people who got a cold, probably got one there. Wind was blowing the dog off the chain!
Anyway, I'm not blaming Regent, the nice waiter, passengers, anyone for how I got the damn thing!
Yes, there may be a couple of covid casualties, out there and the usual number with the GI thing or a respitory bug, but my guess is the common cold. Of course NOBODY gets just that anymore. I guess it has to be something more exotic.....just me sayin'...(giggle!)

There are wonderful sommeliers across the Regent fleet; hopefully, we will sail with Georgianna again and she will have a second chance to make a first impression.
Ut oh…
sounds like a problem some where along the line. “Stuff happens”
No matter…
Hope all will be well when you see her again!

I’m thrilled! I’m a bona fide over packer
and the laundry has helped so much.
I need to take myself in hand and get a grip Haha!
Not sure I can do with out the trailing piles of baggage but will so welcome it!!!! -
It oh …
stuff happens but that’s too

Sorry to hear that.

While I'm sure Canadian currency is nice for them, they will readily accept US. The amount depends on all the variables like were they excellent? How long was the excursion, did they make your tour special in any way? That's too hard to put a price on, but you'll figure it out. We also give something to the driver, who is just as important as the guide!

After included drinks, the laundry service is the BEST PERK EVER!!!!

It’s always better when Georgiana is on board … hoping she will be on our Grandeur cruise!Me too!
Hoping someone might know where she is!

She is a much loved sommelier but I have not heard a word about her of late.
Does anyone know if she's still with Regent? Maybe headed to the Grandeur?
-
Geez, not very impressive.
Is that custom air, per year? Per cruise?
sigh ….

We’ll make platinum on our upcoming cruise. Anything special gonna happen? or just another glass of champagne?

We also saw the show. We do not normally go to the show but with the sea day and not having to be up early, we thought we would give it a shot. I agree plot line is a bit disjointed and the ending just happens. I also thought the production cast was very good. As for the song choices we actually enjoyed it. I thought the songs and the dancing were very good. I am going to add we are some of the younger folks on this cruise so I could see how the songs might not have been things you are familiar with.
This is also our first Regent cruise. Very impressed with the food and wine selections. The tours have been what I expected and how they described them. The one thing I have been less than thrilled with is the background music in the lounges and restaurants. The songs are familiar but am not enjoying the cover of them. Really not an issue and it is all personal preference. If that is my worst complaint then this is a terrific cruise.
As a so called “ old bi**ch, (giggle!), I totally agree with your music critique.
I’d LOVE to hear more updated music any where on the ships! Most especially on the pool decks!
Maybe a little Bob Marley? Coldplay? Adele?Dare I say Taylor?(omg! did I actually say that? Giggle!)
You catch my drift?
If the future if Regent is looking to the future, they could think about that…
They don’t need to throw the Rat Pack or Elvis overboard, but maybe something a little more contemporary?
Hey! I’m not dead yet! Haha!!!!

We've stayed in the concierge level before and I don't think dry cleaning is included, however the laundry service is wonderful. Couldn't ask for better! Everything comes back pressed on a hanger, or folded and wrapped like a present in tissue paper!

We've flown Icelandair several times, from Newark to Iceland and don't mind it one bit. Yes, the seats
don't turn into beds, but hey, we fall asleep all the time watching TV in our recliners at home (giggle!)
I think their food is second to none....always interesting and very tasty. Adult beverages in every category are plentiful and quality. We will be flying with them in September for the Splendor "round
Great Britian number...
We were originally given an insane flight schedule on Air Canada which we said no to (Newark to Toronto, Toronto to Paris, Paris to Copenhagen....geez!!! I don't think so) I knew we could get Icelandair out of Newark, so I asked for them....
Long story short, we like Icelandair very much and are happy to flying with them.

Although I haven't chimed in much on your reports, I've enjoyed them thoroughly!
We'll be boarding the Splendor for a spin thru the British Isles on the 12th. Can't wait!
Thank you for taking the time to take us all along on your adventures!

Just an aside to anyone flying business from Reykjavik,(I'm guessing most), the Icelandair Business lounge is a trip!
Very unique and ultra comfortable. Huge as well! Not to be missed if possible.

So far, out of all of the Regent ships, the Navigator has the very best auditorium, by a long shot.
Wonder how we'll do with the Grandeur?!

So very glad you're having good weather. We've only been to the Faroes once, Torshaven. It goes down in our books as one of the coldest places we've ever been. Damp, cold and wind that was blowing the dog off the chain!
When we tried to buy some hats, scarves, there was a problem with our credit card, as it didn't have a chip. Wound up in the local bank getting Faroese krona (?). Got our hats (OMG, bring money and lots of it!!) but later found that we could not use "their" money in Denmark....go figure that one.
Anyway, once warm, loved the place!
