Same thing happened in Vegas when they did this to fill rooms. I heard some first hand reports about the conditions on the ground and the low-class atmosphere with some saying it was downright dangerous, even on the strip propper.

Yep, it was bad!  I'm in Vegas 4-8 times every year.  I had never been afraid for my wife and I's well-being on the Strip until right after they reopened post-covid.  Thankfully, it's gotten a lot better recently though (during the past 6 months).

  2. Very cool.  Thanks for sharing.  I wonder how far off the Texas coast they were when this occurred?  I have a similarly-sized sloop (although much older than the one in the video) that I've taken 40ish miles offshore a few times.  I guess that's the distance where my comfort level begins to drop and feel the need to tack back home. 😁

Just received this email for my ruby Nov 11 sailing from san francisco. I have filled out everything i can except for covid testing which is too early. I havent been able to pick my arrival time but this seems like a non-issue according to recent posters. I dont see any new information that they require but dont want to miss anything. Does everyone receive this email... just seems kind of urgent by there wording. I dont feel like waiting on the phone for an hour with princess as expect i will get an answer here. Thanks in advance to all who can help

Yes, that's a standard email.  Princess just wants to ensure everyone knows the testing requirement, etc.  I received the same email yesterday for my upcoming cruise on Grand.  I also received the same email for my last Alaskan cruise in September.  Nothing to worry about.

Yeah the other little pieces all fit in between my other teeth to hold it in.

I went in for the impression on Thursday 7am.

Remember? That’s the impression that I get da da da da da…da da da da…da da da da da…da da da da.

Hi Greg.  Super late to the show and only on page 4 but I just have to ask - are you singing the Mighty Mighty Bosstones?  The "da da's" I'm hearing in my head with that song aren't matching your typed "da da's" and it's starting to bring my OCD to the forefront!  🙃 😁

Any reports and updates as to what’s happening in the onboard casinos? Is there full seating at the tables (blackjack, 3 card poker, etc.) are table minimums high due to limited seating?  Are all the slots in use or are some not playable due to social distancing between machines?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Let me preface by saying that I play craps exclusively.  On Majestic a few weeks ago, tables were open with no restrictions (other than masks).  Table minimum was $5 (as it's always been).  Slots looked to be business as usual as well (no seating restrictions).

Perhaps it's been stated before. Live from the Grand Princess no American sport coverage. 24/7 Sports Channel shows Australian Rules football, soccer, European basketball.

    No NFL.

I know nothing about other ships or other cruises.

Majestic Princess is the same.  One sports channel, geared mainly towards European sports.  We were lucky though on our Alaskan cruise because the channel did broadcast live coverage of the Ryder Cup.

Princess needs to pony up the dough and get some other channels (sports and others).  Heck, even Carnival bought the rights to show NFL games.

  7. I've used these test for two cruises now.  They've worked perfectly every time.  If using your phone to test, I recommend you either use a tripod or have someone else around that can hold the phone for you.  The test proctor needs to see you and the test kit simultaneously while testing.  It's nearly impossible to hold the phone and conduct the test at the same time. 😉

Yes, I used my phone. As long as has a front and back camera. Also if someone can help you by holding phone or use a tripod. They want to see you open package and test card, hard to do with one hand,

The wife and I took our tests yesterday as well for this cruise.  Used a tripod this time (rather than holding the phone for each other).  It was SO much easier with the tripod. 😁
