I've been told that you could ask what was cooking in the crew mess. I've done that once and got really good curry!
-
How does that work? We will be visiting some ports well-known for their wineries. Would like to purchase wine for friends back home.
Will the cruise line hold it til debarkation?
-
Beyond here on Cruise Critic? Are you looking for something directly from Celebrity or just about Celebrity? The company does have a Facebook page.
Beyond Cruise Critic and preferably NOT from Celebrity.
-
Royal has Royal Caribbean Blog, just wondering if there is something similar for Celebrity.
Or is there a general cruise blogger or youtube channel that has lots of Celebrity specific information?
-
just in case I was still in the running, it's not me LOLOLOLOL
-
Just wondering if we can expect a mini-fridge. On Royal, some ships don't have mini-fridge in the inside cabins.
-
Here is the wording from the Royal site:
A couple of things to note. As soon as you are Platinum on Royal you will be Select on Celebrity, assuming you have let Celebrity know your C&A number. Whoever said that you need 2 points on Celebrity to trigger this, was incorrect. You will be Select based on your C&A status, with zero Celebrity points. You will continue to be Select as you accrue Celebrity points until you either a) become Diamond on C&A or b)earn enough points on Celebrity.
Hmmm, have to let them know my C&A number.. ok. As for the 2 points, it was on a Celebrity or a Royal website (last week). Am now unable to locate it (I'm thinking that IT at Celebrity is no better than Royal's LOL). I will be platinum 4 months before my Celebrity cruise, so will make sure to iron all that out in due time. Nice that I'll be getting a few perks :D
-
Agree however would point out that you do not gain points from a Royal Cruise on Celebrity just the level.I don’t know where the two points come from you mentioned.
the 2 points is the level I need in the Captain's Club for my Platinum in Crown and Anchor to trigger loyalty recognition. So I'm guessing that I won't have any loyalty recognition on this cruise. Oh well, I'll be on a cruise, life will be great LOL
-
I am taking my first Celebrity Cruise in March 2020 and will be Platinum in Royal Caribbean by then. If I understand correctly, I will be granted Select status in the Captain's Club at 2 points (I have already signed up for the Captain's Club and have my number). I know some cruise lines grant you status on the day you achieve it while others only grant it on the cruise following the one on which you attain a new level.
How does Celebrity work the loyalty club. Will I gain Select status on the 2nd day or will I have to cruise a 2nd time with Celebrity for the loyalty recognition to kick in?

If Royal cancels your cruise, one of the options you will have is a full refund, which would include the Choice Air costs.
Aha, Bob to the rescue!!! Sure tips the scale in favor or Choice Air for our TA, right?
-
There is talk of a small possibility of our cruise being cancelled as it is the first cruise out of drydock (oh say it isn't so!!!).
So if you book air through RCCI, am I to assume that airfaire paid through them would also be fully refunded? If not, how does that work?
-
Both Royal and Princess have company specific supplies for sale on board. Just wondering if Celebrity offers the same.
-
Question!
How much is too much onboard credit? Sounds like an awesome problem to have.. Happy spending.
And how does one go about getting non refundable onboard credit? and get so much of it that it is too much? LOL

According to deck plans on Celebrity website it appears 1100 is on deck 10 and not deck 11 on Eclipse
Oops, my bad. I fixed the post. :D
-
I believe that you are misreading the deck plans...
There are five interior cabins on Deck 11 [1528, 1530, 1532, 1534, and 1536]… All are located forward of the ship's front bank of elevators and aft of the circular staircase that connects the Canyon Ranch Spa facilities on Decks 11 [smaller spa space] and 12 [larger spa space]...
The Solarium Pool is aft of the ship's front bank of elevators...
The interior cabins to which you refer are beneath the spa [specifically treatment rooms as I recall], not the Solarium pool...
Am actually looking at Deck 10, cabin 1100... just forward of the aft elevators. nothing on Deck 11 is indicated, but Deck 12 has the middle pool -forward of the splash zone but behind the first pool (which would explain why there is nothing listed on Deck 11)

After many Royal sailings, Eclipse has emerged as our favorite ship. Assuming you took classic bev pkg as your perc just sit back and enjoy specialty coffees at Cafe Al Bacio, wine and cheese sail-aways on the lawn, sommelier service in mdr, and evening cocktails at the sunset bar.
It's a repositioning cruise so I don't see any perks poping up in the mock booking, but I'll see when we book on Friday!
-
We are looking at an inside cabin under the pool... I'm thinking it should be quiet as it is directly under the water and not the seating area. Or do you still get noise from water pumps and such?
-
Booking Pacific Coastal repositioning this week on Eclipse for March 2020?
Please tell me about the ship, about the differences between Royal and Celebrity. I think things will mostly be the same, but am interested to see what the differences might be. So what should I expect?
Have done Allure, Anthem, Radiance (and upcoming Rhapsody) with Royal and Pacific with Princess, so I've tried all sorts of sizes of ships already. Really prefer the 2000-3000 pax ships. Unfortunately I don't have enough Royal loyalty points to get equivalent status on Celebrity... aaaaaah maybe some day.
-
I don't care, I am on a cruise! And for me to spend time trying to figure out where the bed is would be a waste of my time. I am more concerned with where the cabin is located- elevators, deck, what is above me, what is below me and such.
good point, but given a choice, I would prefer bed by the door, so you can sit comfortably and watch the waves go by should it be too cold to go out.
-
just added that series to My List. As an aside, you can always ask your waiter what is cooking in the staff mess.
-
full check in will be done in Seward
-
I did a 67 night cruise on the Radiance last year and will do almost as long on the Jewel next year.
Radiance: Australia, New Zealand, transpacific with French Polynesia, Hawaii, Alaska.
Jewel: Panama Canal, transatlantic, Greece & Croatia.
Not circumnavigation, but perhaps these itineraries would make you happy. They make me happy. ;)
and it afforded me the opportunity to share an amazing whale watching experience with you in Alaska. Ah the memories!!!
-
I know there were ships there some years ago. I'm just beginning to research future cruise possibilities and South America is on the short list.
What happened to the RCCI ships that used to do South America?

This, by far, is the best and most comprehensive Rhapsody review I've read.

yep, read it and made notes! :D

So I seem to remember reading that it was included in the cruise fare on Celebrity. Did I read that right (forget where I read that)?
