  1. Glad they stepped up. Only problem is you'll really be missing your dog by the end of the 2nd week (and probably your daughters too) 😁
  2. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I was serious about totally relaxing and enjoying YC for the 2nd week. I didn't post updates during that time and have been busy "catching up" since returning home. I hope your relatives are presently enjoying their cruise, but to answer your question, when outside the YC, I didn't think the ship felt crowded when compared to other non-MSC cruises we've been on.
  3. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I was serious about totally relaxing and enjoying YC for the 2nd week. I didn't post updates during that time and have been busy "catching up" since returning home. There was no savings for the 2nd week. In fact it cost a bit more and had less OBC since there was no TA involved. I'm kicking myself for not even asking if I could get a lower price, but at the time I was with the sales rep, I just wanted to stay onboard and get back to enjoying my YC experience.
  4. Sorry I didn't reply sooner, but I was serious about totally relaxing and enjoying YC for the 2nd week. I didn't post updates during that time and have been busy "catching up" since returning home. You're probably already on your cruise so I don't know if this will help you - but it may help others... The Gala night was Tuesday after leaving Nassau (3rd night onboard). I was surprised it wasn't on the next day which was a seaday. The seafood extravaganza was held at the YC One Pool deck both weeks on a sea day. For second week (your itinerary) it was the last day (Saturday) sailing between Puerto Plata and Miami.
  5. I've only sailed on Seascape. What (if any) are the differences from her to Seaside and Seashore? Thanks
  6. Yes. I didn't see it on the room service menu and didn't wany it bad enough to ask for it anyway.
  7. IF you have any OBC left over you can "withdraw" it at a slot or card machine in the casino, play some, then "cash out" from the machine. Then you take the ticket with your "winnings" to the casino cashier and get actual cash.
  8. I was sort of amazed (read disappointed) that I couldn't just order a burger & fries from room service when we were onboard 2 weeks ago...☹️
  9. Thanks for that info. I guess taxi or Uber will be available options, but I still wonder if anyone has experience utilizing AQ's shuttle service to PDX...
  10. One of the YC butlers told me that the override won't really work if all 4 of the cars in the elevator bank have already been "assigned" due to other calls. If there is an available car when your card is read, then the override will (or at least should) work. My experience was that the override did work most of the time, but certainly not right after the muster check-in is on going and theater shows let out.
  11. We had Gusti (and Marinette) for the first two weeks of Febuary. You are in for a treat. Tell him Paul & Jackie say "Selamat siang & terima kasih" (Indonesian for good day & thank-you)!
  12. Going on our 1st AQV cruise this fall from Spokane to Vancouver. Itinerary say we get to Vancouver at 5am on a Monday morning. AQV "excursion" direct to PDX airport says it should arrive by 8:30. The Alaska Airlines flight we're looking to book leaves at 10am. We have TSA Pre... Would any of you please relate your experience(s) on getting to the airport post-cruise. Are Ubers a viable option or should we just use AQV? What's the earliest flight time you would book? Thanks
  13. Morpheus is correct (as always 😉) in that you must get off and then get back on but at least it's a special procedure for B2Bers rather than just the "normal" disembarkation and embarkation processes. You don't have to slep any baggage with you - it stays on board. Hopefully your experience will go smoother than ours a week ago where we had to wait in the terminal (no seating) for awhile before proceeding down to the immigration area. Then more standing around in that processing area before CBP actually started processing us. They treat the B2Bs as one big group, so everyone is held in the respective areas until all are processed, then they all are allowed to move on - you can't just go on your own through each step...
  14. Didn't really see any YC interlopers during my recent 2 weeks on Seascape. All the YC access doors seemed to work well and only allow those with YC cards/wristbands to enter unless those entering or exiting don't ensure others don't "piggyback" YC staffers are almost constantly roaming around retrieving drinks and delivering food so I'm not sure they can keep track of who is or isn't using particular loungers or cabanas...
  15. According to the YC concierge on Seascape, other than the 4 cabanas reserved for the Royal & Owner's suites, the on-board YC cabanas are first come first served and no reservations are accepted. There is no charge to use them, but nothing "extra" (other than typical YC service) is included. It's just the 2 loungers, small round table, roof & curtains. And yes, there are cabana hogs in the YC that drop their "stuff" in a cabana early in the AM and then go do other things (including on-shore tours) for hours & hours and may never even return to actually use the cabana. Last 2 weeks on Seascape there were always non-cabana loungers available on the YC One Pool deck (even with the chair hogs).
  16. Just got back from 2 weeks on Seascape in YC and never saw or heard anythiung about a Chef"s Table
  17. So when does the 2023 Cruise Season begin? Aren't we in it already? If so, I'd assume all ships have been upgraded already, yet the article dated yesterday only mentions that 3 ships have been modified. Perhaps they really meant the 2024 cruise season????
  18. Is it still showing as a 3-day? Perhaps MSC changed it to a 4-day without notifying you - they've done so in the past. That could explain the price increase and change in final payment dates.
  19. On Jan 29 and Feb 5 & 12 Seascape used terminal C. For Uber drop-off is C east and pick-ups are C west. Yacht Club tent is at C east.
  20. The daily program has Evening Dress suggestions. This week was: Casual Tropical Gala 70s&80s Casual White Casual It was the same last week also.
  21. There are bands and other performers art various times in the atrium, le cabaret Rouge, uptown bar and the loft as well as out on deck.
  22. If you get off without doing the b2b on & off shuffle, you can't get back on until regular new boarding has commenced. Yesterday that wasn't until after 12:30 since there was a delay zeroing out the pax count.
  23. Cruise Review Update: Sitting here in the Top Sail lounge having an after dinner drink recalling how it is I'm still here AFTER our scheduled disembarkation today... Yesterday was sea day cruising back to Miami and from my lounger on the One Pool deck I looked at my DW and said since this was our first MSC cruise and we've been busy exploring the ship & its offerings, we haven't been able to relax as much as we'd hoped, how about staying on for another week? She did a quick calendar check and said yes and after I confirmed airline seats were available a week later, down to the YC concierge I went. They said there were still open cabins and confirmed we could even keep the same butler team. Unfortunately, we did have to change cabins, but it was only to the cabin right next to our first one. They sent the future cruise rep up to met me in the TS lounge and with only 24 hours before (continuing) sailing we had a paid & confirmed booking for tomorrow (today). Then I got to spend 1:20 on the phone with the airline changing or return flight to a week later. Same flight #s but BIG $s more since the change was so close to travelling. Thank goodness the wi-fi call using the ship's internet did not drop during that extended time on hold and dealing with a credit card processing snafu. The B2B this morning did NOT go smoothly. We waited in TS lounge until 11:15 before they called the B2Bs for processing. After leaving the ship we were held in the upper terminal for a while before moving to the lower level where we waited even more... The problem was not MSC's fault, but caused by a combination of stragglers delaying zeroing out the ship and CBP/terminal operations mis-management. After finally getting through the 2-second clearance process, we were delayed again getting back on board and somehow ended up behind new cruisers that were mistakenly allowed to start boarding before the B2bs were through the process. Add clouds and rain showers to that mess and you can imagine how good that Ahhhhhh moment felt once we were back onboard and having lunch & drinks. More thoughts to follow after tomorrow's (hopefully) visit to Ocean Cay...
  24. From what I gathered from the YC concierge, the packages purchased pre-cruise are already discounted and won't get an additional VC discount. Once on board, the VC discount varies based on the VC level and only applies to the "normal" per-item costs, not 20 or 40 item packages.
  25. On Seascape this week and the F1 simulator was $12 while the flight sim and moto sim were each $6
