You're just more likely to get an early arrival time, if that's what you want.
oh, ok..actually I didn't know they had gone to this 'arrival-time slot' system, until I checked in.Β I picked the earliest available to us: 12-12:30, which is fine by us.
Is that a "bad" i.e. "busy" time, or what...π€

I guess I didn't check-in for our upcoming cruise as soon as I got the notice to check-in. Did it maybe 3-4 days later. Is there any advantage to checking-in as soon as it's available??π€·ββοΈ

We have learned the key is to get a good porter and tell him if he takes care us we will take care of him.Β
He took us to the front of the taxi line (which might have made a few people unhappy but hey it was him asking people to move out of the way not me) and we got a taxi in about 5 minutes.Β
ΒTaxi fare to the airport was a mere $39 bucks which was a lot better than our last taxi fare for $63.
Β
We were one of the last groups debarking which helped too.
...just curious...how much "care" did you give him...?

So let me tell you about disembarking.Β
ΒMet in sweet lounge.Β
Led to elevatorΒCrammed and warp speed.Β
Off ship.Β
Luggage easily foundΒThrough customs Β
Β
That was the good.Β
ΒNow outside the terminalΒ
Passengers coming and going.Β
Actually everyone behaved.Β
No bumping, hitting, cutting. Normal pace.Β
As we walked by at 9am heard 100 min wait for a taxi. Yes folks 100 min.Β
ΒWe pre scheduled a private car.Β
Called. Brief wait.Β
Off to FLL. To spend night.Β
ΒHowever. Did witness some busy busy people waiting for their ride. Blocking the area to pick up your ride between pilons numbered 1-5.Β
ΒPort traffic. Unbelievable.Β
andfor those arriving today. Traffic coming to port is bumper to bumper.Β
ΒNext time we leave.Β
Taking 2 Tylenol.Β
Making sure I bring a beer to cabin the night before to take Tylenol with breakfast.Β

re the 100 min taxi wait. YIKES! is that the norm? or was it because of the marathon or whatever?

When the worst thing about a food product is not that it is named "Mr Brain's" then you know to steer clear
Β
and on topic do you think the apostrophe in Mr Brain's is superfluous or incorrect? is the product name actually Mr Brain? should it be Mr Brains' or Mr Brains's or maybe isn't needed at all - so many questions.
Β
you mean question's, shurely

I just checked in for our upcoming trip. I had to choose a check-in time slot. Is this something relatively new.?
Earliest available was 12-1230 pm, which is ok.
How likely are we to actually get thru check- in our time slot?Β
What happens if we arrive a little early? Or late?
-
at least they didn't spell it Cruises "Cruise's"

1. does anybody actually WANT the stuff in the mini-fridge - at the prices they charge?
2. we're going on Silhouette next month. Can I request an empty fridge for the whole trip, in advance?

are there ANY complimentary items in the mini-bar, (or anywhere) Β in an Ocean View room??

gettin' down to the nitty-gritty questions now...
There appears to be 2 Publix Supermarkets near the Hampton Inn.(one on 10th St. other on 13th in Mary Brickell Village?) Would either maybe have broader selections of wines?
Or both the same? anybody?
-
if you google something like "Hampton Inn Brickell - nearby fast food restaurants" you'll get your answer! yes, McD & BK are within 10 min. walk...and others too.
the Β "Man vs Fries" place looks interesting...

Please don't judge....Just asking for a friend: are there any fast-food places (McD,BKing, Wendys, KFC etc) close by the Hampton Inn Brickell?π

Its not clear by all the answers here. Do you have to have a package so you are not charged corkage fee. We only drink on the patio. Please do not post a link to Celebrity because it is not clear.
no, we don't have any package.
not sure what you mean by your last sentence?π€·ββοΈ

Hey All....I'm over on Celebrity next time out....(April)...forgive me...
I wasn't all that hepped up about booking another cruise at this time, Β however, since I started following this thread (and its photos!), my interest has been re-kindled! Cheers!

You could probably take on 4 bottles each. Β 2 in each carry on and 2 in each checked. Β I doubt that they would have a way to keep track of it. Β Β

We booked kind of late for an April cruise on the Silhouette. The room we booked is on Deck 3, & appears to be under the Casino. Do you think it will noisy there, at night?
What time does the casino close?

are the mini-fridges in the staterooms stocked with product$?
if so, can you ask to have it emptied (or even request an empty one, in advance)?π

little confused about check-in & Muster??
in Celebrity Cruises

we're old-school dinosaurs. Don't do "apps" very well...
Other than perhaps time-saving, is there/ are there advantages to doing your check-in on the app thingy vs doing it the old-fashioned way with passports & paper in hand?
also, re Musters. Do you now just have to "stop by" your Muster station some time after you board? as opposed to the old way of everyone gathering when the alarm sounds?π€·ββοΈ
