We agree that some things have changed since Covid. However, we have tried many lines (before and since) and we still favor Oceania over all the others. We are grateful that cruise lines remained in business, in spite of the changes.
It could have easily gone the other way given the lack of revenue for those many months.
We disembarked from Vista on February 11. We had the standard internet service. After 17 Oceania cruises, this is the first time we've had trouble with it. It was slow to connect, and many times wouldn't connect at all. Other passengers also complained about it. We were on Vista last summer and had no issues, so I don't know why there was trouble this time.
Trieste is a lovely town with many shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our time there before our Vista cruise. It is a bit difficult to get to, but once you're there you will enjoy this little gem.
We have a future cruise booked that disembarks in Monaco. It is also listed as a tender port. Does anyone have an idea about how that would work? It's hard to imagine getting all the luggage off on a tender, not to mention people with their carryon's.
Surprise! All passengers made it to the ship today, and we are on our original schedule. So much rescheduling for the destination desk and the rest of us with private tours. Perhaps Oceania is a bit too cautious with its cancelations. Anyhow, we are thrilled to be going to Split and Kotor.
On Vista now. Have to spend an extra day in Trieste to have time for all passengers to board. Will miss our planned stops in Kotor and Split. Not happy about that but certainly understand the reasons why. Cruising is not an exact science!
Has anyone had experience with a Regent flight from San Francisco to Tokyo? What were the arrangements? We are wondering whether or not to make our own flight plans.
We will soon have the required number of Oceania cruises to qualify for a free cruise. How does this work? We normally book Oceania suites and above. Is the cruise an average of the type of suite you've had? (I don't think putting us in an interior room would be a fair benefit.)
Do any of you have experience with this process?
We have the Cunard coach service to Southampton on December 15. We have been told to show up no earlier than 10 a.m. but no later than 11:30 a.m. as coaches will start leaving at 11:30. Has anyone had experience with this? When did you arrive at the coach station?
