  1. Is this "lose 200 EUR per person" before or after you include the WS $250 reimbursement? If before, you'll come out almost even.

After.... flights are expensive now... we will see what my TA can do for me...

  2. Ok, I just got the information... The new crossing will be from Mach 19. to April 1.

13 nights like the one bevore, but with a stop at Horta.

Sorry, if i have typos, i am not a native spekaer :-)

  3. Wow. Not sure if that would work for most people and I don't believe most travel insurance will pay for this. Can you do the new date?

I think we can do the new date, we will lose about 200 EUR per person...

If we do not, we have to cancel the flights wich will be 300 EUR.... i am not happy.... no onboard credit or anything else...

  4. the mail i got...

We are writing to inform you that your cruise on Star Pride’s March 30th, 2019 sailing has been cancelled. We are making this change as a result of a change in the Star Pride’s schedule next spring, which will require the ship to be re-deployed. Unfortunately, this change will require the cancellation of your cruise.

NOTE: The Transatlantic Crossing on the Star Pride will now sail on March 19th, 2019. You must let us know if you’d like to be rebooked on this cruise.

Guests are welcome to rebook on another cruise. No change fees or penalties apply to booking changes to an alternate voyage. If there is a price difference between the cancelled voyage and the new voyage, the price difference will be applied to the new booking.

      • Lower Price - In the case of a resulting lower price, the new booking will reflect the new lower price and the original deposit applied to the new booking.
      • Higher Price – In the case of a resulting higher price, the new booking will reflect the higher price and the original deposit applied to the new booking.

Guests who do not rebook will be fully refunded. No change fees or penalties will apply.

    Independent Air Change Fee Consideration:

If you have already booked air independently, we will reimburse you up to $250 per person for any fees you may incur due to flight changes. Copies of original receipts and new flight details/receipts are required to request/receive a refund. If you choose to cancel your booking, Air Change Fee Consideration/refund will not apply.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause. As always, our primary goal is to provide the best voyage possible for you.

    Thank you,

    Windstar Cruises

  5. I already had booked my flights, they offer just 250 USD compensation if i rebook for the April 19 cruise. but they cannot tell me when we should arrive in Lisbon on this one... so no way to change my flights... fees would be around 400 EUR, so a very bad deal.

  6. Believe this is posted on the WS website which would be the most up-to-date. We have never purchased package and find prices extremely reasonable. Much more so than lots of restaurants.

I was wondering about the individual cost per drink. You are right, the package is on the website.

  7. From memory around $25 but it may not be offered on each sailing. The individual pricing really isn't bad. The cruises we have not been given laundry and sent by the piece were not overly expensive. Hot climates we buy the package. Cooler climates by the piece.

    Thank you :-)

  8. Also, the stuffed bag option usually doesn't appear until 3rd day! It may have to do with how many do or don't sign up for the full cruise.

How much is the "stuffed bag option" usually?

  9. We are British and found that we could come and go as we wished. We were never questioned. We did have a private classic car tour booked on one of the days but were never asked about our plans once we got to Cuba. We did have to fill in a form on embarkation that asked if we were doing a tour or making our own plans and a few other options. We were doing several of the options but you could only tick one box. It was all much more relaxed than we were expecting.

Thanks for your reply. When have you been there? When did you book?

Did you get your visa onboard? Great to hear it was relaxed... :-)

  10. We are on our transatlantic overnight in Cuba. There was some confusion about the new rules. We are Germans, as I understand it makes no difference and we must abide by the US rules. Does anyone have experiences? Do we have to book an excursion on both days to go ashore? Or is only one day enough? I think the offered land excursions are not really interesting and too expensive. There are also the costs for the visa ... Thank you for your help.

I apologize for the typo in the headline, I could not correct that

  11. I have more specific answers for you, and I apologize for the delay :o

    1) Can a person obtain their own legal visa for Cuba in their home country or do they have to obtain one through Azamara?

Guests may obtain their own visa as long as it is the approved tourist visa to enter Cuba. If a guest purchases their own visa and it is the incorrect one, they will need to purchase a new one onboard.

    2) Are ONLY Azamara tours acceptable in order to disembark the ship in Cuba?

Guests may purchase a tour with a third-party company. However, it is the responsibility

of the guest to ensure the purchased tour complies with the new US regulations, is sponsored by a US organization, and offers a full-day schedule of educational exchange activities.

    3) Are non-US citizens able to disembark inCuba with a valid Visa from their home country and not be restricted by US regulations as to where they can go and what they can do?

The new regulations apply to all guests, regardless of nationality or country of residence, since the ship is wholly-owned by a company subject to U.S. jurisdiction.

    Thank you Bonny!

Europeans usually use the green visa... if we fly from the US to Cuba we would need the pink one. What do we need for this cruise? The ship sails under EU flag, so do we come from Lisbon (EU) to Cuba ? Malta (EU) ? or the US? ....

    From your website....

I am an international guest, do the new regulations apply to me?

The new regulations apply to all guests – regardless of nationality or country of residence – boarding avessel in a U.S. port.

No need to book a tour... we board in Lisbon... this information is on your website.. since a very long time... right? and the PDF was updated November 16....

I am really confused, the information you get is different to the official laws and even Azamaras website.

And don't get me wrong, i read a lot in this forum, i really love how you do your job. Thank you for all the great information and work.

  12. We are also on this cruise. We are Germans, and we find the whole ambiguity really frustrating. Azamara's document clearly says "Cruises departing from the US".The general entry conditions for EU citizens do not require special tours. Why can not Azamara find a clear solution for the customers? Why should EU citizens subvert Americans' entry regulations?I do not understand that. Do you only want Americans as customers?

  13. We are considering Seabourn for the first time as one of the "displaced" passengers from Azamara's October/November "18 shuffle due to a charter that left many of us looking for options!

The T/A ends in Bridgetown and I'm wondering what are our options to get back to MIA to then catch a flight to San Diego. What airlines do you all normally book with and what is the approximate one way charge? Cruise ends 12/1/18. Thanks for any help! LuAnn

Hi, we did the same.... bye Azamara... try Seabourn... i hope the Condor Airline flights to Germany will be avalible next year..... see you on board...

  14. My October 15, 2018 sailing on the Journey from Venice to Rome has disappeared as well as all October sailings on the Journey. I called the regular Azamara phone number as well as lcv number and they said "they are sold out". Not sure I believe this. Im very upset to say the least.

The staff mostly do not know anything, or do not say anything. The system says bumped, and so it is passed on. We must wait and see. Patience is not my strength.
