  1. Check Roger Jett's site. If you have an older bar menu like the one I posted from December, just pretend that the limit is $8 and you'll find what's eligible. The prices and the SBP limit moved in sync for the most part.

As a general rule, almost all your liquor and mixed drinks are covered with the exception of the most expensive tequilas and single malt Scotch. All the beers are covered. The wine selection is more limited, but it's workable.

    Great! Thank You!

  2. We'll be on the Zuiderdam's Viking Passage next year, which is essentially a westbound TA that starts in Copenhagen and winds up in NY via Norway, Iceland, Greenland, and Canada. So, part Europe, part not.

Any idea how laundry prices are treated on such a sailing?

    Thanks!

We will be on the Westerdam westbound Oktober TA, i called them tiwce, it is 9$.

I think they now all know about the 9$ in Europe, still a good deal i guess.

  3. The crystal chandelier is gone too, replaced with a (in my opinion) hideous set of tilting circles for lighting.

Those circle lights are the trend. I've seen them at several hotels recently. Some of the pictures reminded me of the newly redone Marriotts in Charlotte and Bethesda, Maryland -- grays, whites, distressed woods with a pop of color somewhere.

I looked at the crew member's facebook pages and the video. It all looks fresh to me. Would I copy it in my home? No, but it is fresh and clean, yet still refined. I hope they still have some nautical nods so that I feel like I'm on an ocean liner and not at a "any city hotel."

HAL is in a difficult position-- just like a country club or a Marriott Hotel, they have to update every few years without going too wild but still look classy.

Looking forward to seeing it in person next month.

I agree, some of the other HAL ships look really dated (not vintage)... they need to do something. I prefer the nautical style to, but this is much better then before in my opinion. I am really interested how he buffet area looks... it seems they did almost the hole ship (public spaces) during this dry dock.

  4. Please take good care of this suite for us as we will be there in October for the TA from Rome to FLL. We love the corner suites on the stern on all ships. We have been in 6177 on Westerdam in the past but really love the cover and size of the verandah in 5190..

We will be on this cruise too.... see you!
