  1. Just a note... As I wish we had done... For those of you, on a future cruise, who are not sure about your cabin category.. I wish we had put a deposit down on two cabins, so that when the ship rolled out, if we wanted the different (higher category) cabin, we already had the fare locked in and our name on the cabin. Prices on our cruise on the SUN princess have gone up, and to cancel and book the larger balcony now would be a really big price increase.
  2. I was so glad to see the video of the Deluxe Balcony cabin, on a bump out... But, was not happy to see that the balcony is as tiny as I had feared !
  3. Cabana Cabin 9349 is NOT one of those that has the 'cabana deck' area right in front of it. Nothing in front of your balcony, except for the glass... (would you appreciate the protection from the wind and elements?) Yours is a mid-ship, category C2... Not one of those C1 category cabins. The exterior balcony is not covered... but of course the cabana is. if you want a cabana cabin, where the balcony area is covered and does not have anything blocking your sea view, look at the ones located on the sphere PS: to the poster who mentioned the diffrence between a mini-suite and a cabana mini... That lighting area over the bed is not the only difference between a Mini and a Cabana Mini. The Cabana Mini Suites are actually Deluxe Balcony cabins, with the addition of the cabana area between the main cabin and the balcony. Look closely at deck plans and diagrams and videos of cabins. I believe the MiniSuites have a slightly larger bathroom (still no tub...) Which, the Cabana Minis, are like Deluxe Balconies with that standard, smaller, bathroom.
  4. Current Princess Sanctuary areas have bar service, some have hot-tubs, and are located near the adult pool area. I think one of the biggest differences in the 'relaxation' vibe might be the number of guests. This Sanctuary seems to accommodate a LOT more guests, in an open, and more crowded area. I think that this is still supposed to be the Sanctuary Relaxation Area.. But, we will see how this works out and how much might be lost in translation.
  5. Sounds like it could be kind of a unique thing... Don't know if others here have done this thing through Ceaser's ? If you do want to book early, to be certain you get the day and time you want, then you can try to do that. If there is a middle-man, TA, that your booking is actually thru, then you might start by calling them. Princess customer service might not do anything for you if your booking is showing a third party. If you try to book online, like thru Princess, the system might charge you... but hopefully with good documentation, you can get this reversed when you board.
  6. TRUE!!! At least on the later ships they have the extended balconies on Deck 9. Before that - almost none,
  7. Be assured that they paid good money to book a Signature suite. Nothing comes for free.
  8. Sounds like this is a 'perk' that is thrown in by a TA ????? There have been comments lately about being charged for dining that is supposed to be included as a 'perk', if booking before boarding, and then having the charge reversed when onboard. Make sure that you have this printed out and marked with highlighter, in case there is any question when booking, in case there is any question about the complimentary dining.
  9. I think that they are very purposefully offering TA's the opportunity to offer lower lead-in rages on entry level GTY bookings. I am seeing more and more of this. Our last bookings were with an agency that has been known for some kind of discounting.. They now display their Starting At lead-in rates, that are low... But if you want to book a cabin that is NOT an entry level GTY... no real discount. Perhaps this is why there seem to be so many GTY bookings... so many cabins are showing available, but the site shows only 5 or 6 ?
  10. It is the 'prison yard' decor and basic minimalistic 'open deck' in the Sanctuary that is most disappointing!!!! The welcoming character of the Piazza seems to be gone, as well???? Princess started this with elements on their ships on ships built after Regal. I am not one to complain about all 'change'... or a 'larger ship'... But, Princess seems to be losing the character that, to me, PCL has been known for. Where are ANY welcoming areas with any 'decor' or actual comfortable seating??? We will see as more guest actually experience the new ship.
  11. I have always loved the big walk in closet on Princess!!! We will make this small closet with doors work... But totally and completely unpacking and then repacking, to put all luggage away, is not something that I look forward too!!!
  12. Thank you dudes!! I saw this earlier when I saw a new video was posted. I was going to maybe post this link as an... ON THE OTHER END OF THE SPECTRUM.... This shows the very shallow Royal Class balconies that you get on a bump-out section of the ship. Small!!! I thought about booking a DB on an inset section, with the larger balconies, but they seem like about half a mile inset from the water! NOTE TO SELF... Next time when I am not totally sure which cabin to book, put a deposit down on TWO, so that we have the option for either one, when we know for sure. We booked when rates were lower, so no way we are going to cancel are rebook now to get a Premium Deluxe Balcony. The price difference at today's fares is just too much.
  13. I would choose the larger balcony on Dolphin Deck, as I am not big on being that high on Deck 15. The Smoking Section is a big factor. And, of course, you can book that AFT dining room. I just wanted to say, about the walking on a ship this size... It can be a LOT.... We were on Deck 15, pretty far forward, once on a similar 'Sister' ship... And, that walking was a factor. I see that you are wanting to minimize walking on her feet and legs... You also do not want that to limit your cruise, or to cause stress or pain. Having BTDT with my mother, years ago, at a huge resort, not realizing how limited... We actually borrowed a wheelchair from the people across the hall, once, to make sure to get to where we were going. Maybe some kind of simple, foldable, wheelchair or walker-chair would be an idea.
  14. Okay... WOW. a cruise line that is marketing to 'families' with NO soft serve ice cream??? Princess is really not even living in reality with some of this stuff. Maybe when they get enough feedback, and a few shirts come out of their cubicles and see what the response is on the ship... NOPE... just wishful thinking.
  15. Yes, if you see the video posted by Rex... a walk thru of the Sanctuary, you can see how it is arranged, with an exclusive 'little walk thru gate' area, the Wake-View... which is open to all Signature/Suite guests. They have access, included in their Signature Benefits.
  16. What I am seeing is, around the actual pool, in the regular Sanctuary area, are the nice loungers. A limited number for sure. Then, of course, when he goes thru the little entry-gate into the SIGNATURE AREA, of course these loungers are the nice ones. Would they charge more for these for the Sanctuary??? Or, would they be accommodating SIGNATURE guests around the pool. Could padding, or more nice loungers, be on the way??? OMG... PLEASE TELL ME THAT THEY ARE NOT TRULY PLANNING TO CHARGE EXTRA MONEY FOR A NON-PADDED LOUNGER, SQUEEZED IN, WITH ABSOLUTELY NO SHADE.
  17. I don't think I have seen this here on CC yet... Rex has a walk thru of the Sanctuary up, on YouTube ! Looks to be over 300 guests and 177 loungers. (that is what the guy on staff said!) There are 8 Cabanas. Pool. Hot tub. Bar.... There appears to be two levels or categories??? There are MANY regular looking loungers, but some nice and padded loungers, like are in the SIGNATURE SUN DECK AREA. NO SHADE!!!!! (and some strange, uncomfortable looking chairs, etc.)
  18. I am excited to see good video/walkthru of the Sanctuary. It sounds as if the rate went up to $99. for sea days. Probably only available for full day when at sea. I can easily see Princess putting that into place. Currently is $80. for sea days or port days. Of course, Princess is going to take advantage of offering the premium most in-demand for a little more uncharge. My question is... What about cabanas in the Sanctuary? How many? How much per day. Princes has really be missing the mark on their Sanctuary, ever since REGAL. Smaller... No shade... just a 'deck' packed with loungers. REALLY!!!!!
  19. Do you know which Cabana Cabin that is in the video? Looks like it might be one of the ones on the Sphere.
  20. This situation with those Cabana Cabins that are right there on the Cabana Deck is pretty well known. Perhaps this poster did not find one of the Cabana Rooms that are located elsewhere, like on the Sphere, to be available. I can commiserate with the Disappointment!!!!! That is a very uncomfortable and unfortunate total lack of personal space/privacy. As well as a total lack of being able to have any view of water from your cabin.
  21. I am waiting to see some good photo or view of a Deluxe Balcony that is on a bump-out area and not the inset area. Looks like the balcony will be tiny!!!!! But, on the inset, one is a 1/2 mile from the sea.
  22. Yes, photos and videos can be posted here... There is a new SUN Princess thread to try to provide a place for all of these to be together. Wow!! The new 'Arena' is a big deal for Princess... That is too bad if they don't have this all operational.
  23. I think that this is a good place to accumulate all the photos and videos coming in!!! A good idea to have all of this in one place.
  24. I too am awaiting more videos on YouTube!!! Exciting!!! If there is any great info on FB or others, a link might help, for those of us who do not do FB etc,
