  1. Are you referring about the annual 3 Day Sale by the one big agency?? Or is Princess also going to be running a similar deal? Your description sounds like the one annual 3 Day Sale.... Don't know why Princess would also have a similar offer at the same time.
  2. Yes, the is, of course, Princess Cayes. If you are not familiar, know that this does require a Tender. No dock there. Lunch is all included. If you have a package, drinks are included. We have rented a bungalow there. I have my favorite one!
  3. I am not thinking that you are interested in the new Sun Princess (Sphere Class) which has the Sanctuary/Signature Class. But, if you thought you might enjoy this huge glitzy looking new ship, this might be an option. This has the Signature Lounge, separate dining restaurant, the Sanctuary, etc. If you are not familiar with all of the Royal Class ships, listed above... Then look thru the ships listings, and Deck Plans on the Princess web-site. Some have different restaurant options and venues. They are not all the same. Enjoy!!!!
  4. There are quite a collection of ports there!!! And, we do not know what your interests might be. If you want beaches, and do not want to DYI, are there spaces available for the cruise ship excursions? I am not an expert... I will tell you what I might be thinking, based on having been to some of these. As mentioned: St Thomas is one port where you can walk up the pier into the Port, and book the water taxi for less than $10 pp. This takes you around the corner to Great Bay Beach. This might not be as 'postcard' as Magen's Bay, for example... But is very easy. Warning here: If there are several ships in port, know that this beach might be especially packed! Easy to go to Magen's bay, either by cruise ship excursion or just catch the open air Taxi busses. St Martin. Most beaches there would require transportation. If you do a bit of research, you will find beaches like Maho Beach, where the jets and airplanes come and go, flying in and out of the airport just over your head. Simpson Bay Beach. Mullet Bay Beach. If you want to go over to the French Side, there is very scenic Orient Bay Beach and the beach community at Grand Case. You would need transportation to these. There are Taxis and Tours available at the Port. I am not as familiar with Antigua and St. Kitts. On Antigua, I believe Dickenson Bay Beach is a popular beach, and is about 20 min. ride from the Port. Tortola is where you can book a cruise excursion, or a third party shore excursion company, to take a Ferry or Catamaran over to Jost Van Dyke, where there is the Soggy Dollar on White Bay. There are beaches, but not right at the Cruise Port. You would really have to look at these beaches to see if they are what you are looking for.
  5. Anyhow, if they. take a break from 3rd and 4th, and increase the so-called percent off, we would still come out okay... We do not travel with more than the two of us in a small cabin!!!
  6. The Princess web-site opening page today has now had a 'countdown', with sale ending in just less than two days... June 5... The fine print says 'Sale ending June 4' Princess... Uggghhhhh
  7. It is interesting that they had extended the current offer, just exactly until the one agencies 3 Day Sale begins. I had thought they had extended it thru June, but it says 'ending in about two days'.
  8. Looks like the current Princess Promo ends, and there will be something new beginning on the 6th.... Could they make sure that this one promo with this one agency ends up saving almost nothing??? They seem to have extended the current Princess 'Sale' just until June 6th.
  9. It is good to get all of these thoughts and comments. For me, the one thing that is a concern is the enclosed and non/inadequately ventilated Hollywood area. I like my fresh air! And, no Aft pool as an alternative.
  10. We rented a car... Drove up to see Emerald Lake and back. (Reserve well in advance.) Of course, you don't have the 'guided tour' experience. But that was fine for us. If one wants the tour experience, either train or van or both, make sure you go to Emerald lake. Enjoy!
  11. One of our all time favorite shop bands we have seen on Regal in the past. It can be luck of the draw when it comes to bands/entertainers! That is not what defines what makes a good ship. The all time best ship entertainment we have seen was. on Regal when the Staff, many of whom are excellent musicians, put on a classic Rock show in the Piazza one night. CD Dan Falconer closed that show with. his hilarious rendition of 'Walk this way... Walk this way!!!' Have not had such luck with Crooners on Regal. Just the way it worked out!
  12. Yes, these will have larger/deeper balconies. Only 'obstruction' is that there is the public deck area just below. I might like E433, because it is not angled. And, I believe that this one should be what we call 'forward facing', where the bed is going forward as the ship is underway. E436 would be smaller than these others. And, there are boats/lifeboats just aft of this cabin. This would be the last pick on your list. You can see a picture of this on the sister ship Discovery Princess. Just pull up that deck plan on the website listed above.
  13. Ouch!!!!! Perhaps you can look into ways to pre-book, or find a day-pass???? With the current issues, that seem to be coming from the North Amsterdam Manor area... I would be hoping to land somewhere on the South end of the beach.
  14. I guess it all depends on who the entertainer that is booked. It is like you describe quite often! I hear that there are some better more lively and contemporary ones, one over from Carnival! The ship band, last time we were on Regal, were very good, but, uhhhhhmmmm, not so exciting at all ! And I was hoping for more of a 'party' cruise!!! (at least by Princess standards)
  15. That sounds amazing. You must be excited! I know that Regal is one of our favorites. Enjoy!
  16. Thanks for the great cruise report!!! Sounds like you really enjoyed! So glad to hear that the Enchanted continues to get some great reviews. Even though it will be quite some time before we board.
  17. Thanks!!! That is so true about the small venues on some of these ships!
  18. Thank you! I do see that now. We traveled last month, and I had missed it. I was doing searches for 'dry dock'. So, I believe I am seeing the Majestic, the Discovery. And the Coral Princess is scheduled for late September. Thanks!
  19. Tex, If you have already booked for next year, or will be booking soon... Be aware that there could be MAJOR changes coming for the Majestic. I am not talking just the Harmony restaurant. What type of cabin have you booked?
  20. I have been trying to look at possible dry dock schedule for Princess. But, no info out there. Will both the Discovery and the Majestic be in a major dry dock next spring??? It looks like there is a gap in Discovery Princess Schedule after Mexican Riviera and then Alaska.
  21. Which is a problem when it comes to Excursions, Dining, EZ-air, etc...
  22. No, I don't think so... Remember, this is not Princess, but this agency... Princess price will be their price. They may not discount much, or any,, but I haven't seen many steep discounts anywhere lately. Last cruise we booked, thru a big agency, the discount 'from' prices only applied to the lowest, entry level, GTY... which we would not do. Several hundred dollars in OBC would be the 'discount'. Many agencies that do discount ask for huge deposits up front.
  23. We are looking at a Caribbean cruise in the winter... I am so afraid that the fact that it can become 'stuffy' and lacks fresh air could really be a negative. I wonder if they could do something to improve that situation... Some way to open up air in and out of this area? The problem with ships with open Sanctuaries up there is either the sun/heat or the wind. I have seen either of these make this area uncomfortable or even un-useable.
  24. Back when you could put holds on cruises, TA put a hold on the 14 day instead of just the 7 day... We let that expire... We had one of those 'offers' for a bit of OBC... really tiny amount, but... That HOLD was considered a 'booking' and they would NOT honor that tiny OBC.... I have NO respect or confidence in Princess as a corporation.
  25. But, Wait.... There's more!!!! If you wanna risk a $99. deposit... There is the 3 Day Sale! I have contacted a TA from that agency, and will be ready to hit BOOK if we decide. If it is a 10 day, then that should be $300. per person in OBC.
