  1. Remember, everything might not be 100% completed and stocked and ready... I do believe the open, bright, vibe would really be there during the day. Just too bad SIGNATURE is above our pay grade. Even those possible DO staterooms!
  2. Over-riding seems to be possible, but many have no luck with a PVP or TA who either knows, or is willing, to be able to do that. Count your luck!!! To this original poster... Yes, one can find that they are GTY only when you put in for two guests.. Try putting in 3 guests, like you are going to make a booking and see what shows up. People used to be able to request and get the available Deluxe Balcony they wanted, but that seems to be no more. Maybe up to luck. One work-around might be to book for three guest.. and then go back and cancel that so-called third guest. Yes, these are the only regular balcony cabins with a love-seat... ONLY one chair in the small 'regular' balcony cabins. (This is known on Princess, and they are finally correcting this situation on the two new ships coming out!!!) Look on deck 9, Dolphin Deck, for Deluxe Balconies that have a deeper/larger balcony. The AFT, wake view Deluxe balconies also can have larger balconies on some decks. Also, you might look at Obstructed Deluxe Balconies, mid-ship, that can. have larger balconies with no real obstruction, just the main deck area just below. (listed under the 'INSIDE' category.
  3. Shhhh!!!!! Do not alert them up at Corporate!!! They will double the extra charge per day for these cabins.... Steelers: Hahahahha!!! LOVE that!
  4. The countdown has now officially begun!!! D (departure) minus 2 days and ____ hours!!!!!
  5. They might not make this easy to find and access... but many of us will be on a mission!!!
  6. Yes, it all seems crazy with these AFT DO Premium deluxe balconies!!!! And, we will know what is the real deal, very soon. However, at this time... The APP shows these with Signature. The Princess web-site on the computer is showing these with Signature. And, there are those who are booked, and they are showing able to access Signature benefits. That is all I am trying to say here.... At this time, to say that these do not add in Signature benefits, that is what seems to be an assumption, that is not based on what we are all seeing.
  7. The screenshots above do show that SIGNATURE BENEFITS are right there, when one selects the SECOND category listing for Premium Deluxe Balcony. "... includes sofa bed. Enjoy SIGNATURE UPGRADES AND BENEFITS." Yes. Deluxe balconies, as any other cabin category, have different pricing based on location etc... There is only ONE choice to select for Deluxe Balcony (Then you select which section, forward to aft) PREMIUM DELUXE BALCONIES have TWO choices... What I am looking at, the second, higher priced, ones are those located AFT. (which is usually less than mid-ship... but these are considerably higher). When one chooses one of these Premium Deluxe Balconies located AFT... it does actually show SIGNATURE. Why it looks like this, with Princess crazy IT department.... who knows. But, there are TWO different category choices.. And one does cost more and does specifically say SIGNATURE. I am not looking at the new APP, as we know it has had some issues.... I am going straight off the Princess web-site on computer.
  8. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I had seen the comments about the 'juices' in machines... and that does not sound good. If they are going to list this as part of the package, and then, it is basically so limited that it is not what one expects... Would Princess actually be doing this on more ships???? That is why I started this thread. Yes, I do know that juices and smoothies are... we do have a Vitamix!!!
  9. Thanks for that reel !!!! Yes, it shows exactly why I booked a Deluxe Balcony on the bump-out section, and not an in-set section of the ship, (even those balconies are smaller) as that is a LOT of open deck. (Cabana Deck) between the balcony and the sea below! That huge Premium balcony shown does have the same, small, amount of privacy inset there... It is the regular balconies, such as the one filmed from, that would have absolutely NO privacy if anyone is out past the divider on that huge balcony... 🙁
  10. There are several sub-categories of the different cabin types.... yes... But, I am talking about a completely different CATEGORY or TYPE of Premium Deluxe Balcony. Check again, like you are booking, and see if it looks like this. When booking, when one clicks on balcony, it shows COVE BALCONY DELUXE BALCONY PREMIUM DELUXE BALCONY PREMIUM DELUXE BALCONY, listed again, with higher pricing. This second type of PREMIUM DELUXE BALCONY does state that it comes with the Signature Benefits. If one clicks to select that type of Premium Balcony, the system will show any available Premium Deluxe Balconies, which state that they have Signature Benefits, and are located in the AFT... not mid-aft, mid-ship, or mid forward
  11. Just checked... The Princess web-site shows TWO categories of Premium Deluxe Balconies. For the cruise I am looking at, the difference between our mid-ship mid-deck Deluxe Balcony (non-premium) and these Signature Premium Deluxe balconies shows at approx. $50. pp per day. ( so, $100.00 per day ) The difference between an AFT Signature Premium Deluxe balcony and a mid-FWD Premium Deluxe balcony shows at approx. $42.00 pp per day. It would appear that nobody is getting anything for no charge.
  12. The packages are supposed to include the juice bar. I have no idea what 'smoothies' are, and where to get them on most ships. It seems that on some ships, the only thing now available is a very limited selection of 'juices', that could be any re-constituted plain 'juice'. If this is true, leave it to Princess to offer a 'package perk' that really does not amount to much. This is not good news. We are looking forward to the SUN, and the Enchanted. Can anyone here confirm what is available in juices and/or smoothies?
  13. I do think we have determined that the bathroom is a bit larger in the regular mini-suites. But, basically the same type of bathroom, with a walk-in shower. However, the 'Cabana' mini-suites are different than the regular mini-suites. The cabana suites are a bit larger, but that is because they are basically the same cabin as a deluxe balcony. (with the standard small bath) with the 'cabana' added on. I don't think we can know this for certain. Can't wait to get first hand feedback on the SUN!!!
  14. How is one to get anything like a smoothie or a good mixed juice, I Princess is doing this. How incredibly disappointing.
  15. Rowingmachine... Now, with that luck, can I get some good lottery numbers from you!!!!
  16. Hahaha!!! I have already figured out where there might be shade in the Sanctuary on the days we want, mapping out the cruise itinerary.... Otherwise, that would have been me!!! Great score on the Cabana. And, you know you have cabana-shade!!!
  17. Can I piggyback on this thread, and hope for you expert's best GUESS... Yes, it would be a guess. Looking at SUN Princess. Want mid-ship, mid-deck... (less walking and less motion are key) We wanted to look at those mid-ship balconies on deck 10, that have a bit larger balconies... But, can not find one that works available. And, notice that the HIGH blue glass along the Cabana Deck below will be coming up right there.... Many are adjoining, as well. Want to be on a bump-out section, with less 'deck' below between balcony and the sea. 12323 fits the bill... but there is a very small section of white-area right there in the hall. This is giving me pause!!!! Seems hard to find a great cabin and location that ticks all the boxes! Any thoughts???
  18. That is good to know that the crew main access doors should be where the passenger elevators and lifts are. That would make sense. If I am seeing correctly, that is a large white-space crew area there in that whole center of the ship. If you wanted to check to see if there is one available at D506-D522, that would be a sure-thing, as only interior cabins across the hall. Happy planning!
  19. Anticipation!!!!!! How exciting... love to do this vicariously thru you guys. Following!
  20. Cruise is showing Sold Out... Looks like it is up to LUCK !!! You never know... Just hope for the best!
  21. Following!!!! Phroggie, have you thought about trying to game the system to get that front balcony that you want? People used to be able to make a request to get deluxe balcony cabins, for two passengers. Sadly, I think that is no more. Perhaps think about booking it for three, and then cancel out your so-called third wheel???
  22. Could the fact that these were 'shorties' have something to do with it. Something tells me that, for whatever the reason, the standard is sometimes less-than. Our last short cruise was really good!!! But, we might have been lucky that it was NOT heavily booked. We are booked for the SUN, and next year on Enchanted. I do hope we are not really disappointed!
  23. I like my natural light and fresh air. We wouldn't really consider an inside... Just doesn't work for us. And, we do spend time in our cabin, throughout the cruise.. More space and fresh air make the resting/downtime between all of the busy activities, and possible enjoyable leisurely mornings and evenings in your home-away-from-home. That is a big part of a vacation. I am not getting any younger!!! So enjoying our time, being comfortable in our room is a huge factor.... We would def. consider OV cabins... If they were laid out and had the space that balcony cabins do. But the small ones with a 'porthole' above the bed just don't do it...
  24. Some of it might be 'repeat', but it is a very different experience!!! The 27 Glacier Cruise will get you more up close and personal... on a smaller boat, which is different than a ship. You will feel the cold breeze, feel and hear the boats reinforced base cutting thru the water and chunks of ice, etc... You will be closer to any seals that are out there on the ice, etc... You do get to see the smaller areas, and 'Surprise Glacier' etc. We did not do a round trip and spend that much time cruising Alaska. We did Southbound, so for us. yes, we were glad we did it and highly recommend! I am not familiar with the other toors you mention... So, I wouldn't know which one might be best for you. But, if you are so inclined to choose one of these tours, I think you should consider it ! Also, do you have to opportunity to get off the ship and tour Tracy Arm or Endicott Arm on the smaller boat. That is another excellent opportunity!
  25. The Sun U.S. inaugural is a 5 night... I like the per-number of nights concept.. BUT 2 visits starting at 5 nights!!!!!
