  1. I’m sorry, I never checked out the water. I did see some people swimming. With the pool totally enclosed, the temp was fine to swim.
  2. They didn’t, but the lights kept people from tripping ver things and didn’t seem to affect the viewing.
  3. The experience you are having is totally unacceptable! I feel particularly bad for those who are taking their first cruise. After this one, they will never want to go on another cruise. I can’t believe that ship management hasn’t sent out letters of apology for the terrible restaurant situation. There should never be a lack of food on a cruise.
  4. I thought that the select was $39.95 and Prestige $59.95 per day. Just looked at something else that showed $69.95. In Gus’s you are saying that it is now $79.95.
  5. Can we pay the extra $20 per day to upgrade to the Prestige package once onboard?
  6. We went to the show in the planetarium in Tromso. That is all we did there. I was only able to put a photo of the room.
  7. We had the Silver Spirits package. We had the included wine at times and it was good. Lobster was supposed to be farewell show. Cathy liked her lobster. I didn’t see anyone getting 2, but They assume you could if you asked. Since Manfredi’s is no extra cost, it’s worth going to.
  8. I have just posted a review to my website with lots of photos of a recently completed Search for the Northern Lights on the Viking Venus. I also have the menus from the restaurants, spa and lounges. The review is located on my website, which is linked to in my signature. You can also just Google “Mike and Carol’s Cruise Reviews” to find a link to it. I hope it is helpful for those of you that are planning to go on a Viking cruise or to see the Northern Lights. If you are fortunate enough to have been on a Northern Lights cruise, I hope that it brings back some fond memories. Below are photos of the Igloo Hotel in Alta Norway and the gorgeous terrain in Norway’s inside passage.
  9. We had no problem getting the air removed on our upcoming Northern Lights cruise. I was able to save money and get better flights than Viking air offered.
  10. Locks are certainly most impressive. I saw several on this cruise and many others on different cruises, so I don’t need to watch them all anymore. I only take photos where allowed.
  11. Thank you for your response. We had pretty much the same 8-10 people at our table each night. They knew we were all there. it was the Soviet monument. They were freed from Russia in 1989. I did mean that watching licks fill up does get old. Maybe I have seen too many of them over the years.
  12. I have just posted a review to my website with lots of photos of a recently completed Christmas markets Danube River cruise on the Viking Egil from Budapest to Regensburg. We had a great time on an awesome ship. This was my first time on Viking, and I couldn’t have been more impressed with the ship, crew, food and great service throughout. It was my second Danube River cruise. My first one was in 2009 during much warmer weather. This one was quite different. Below are a few photos from the cruise. The review is located on my website, which is linked to in my signature. You can also just Google “Mike and Carol’s Cruise Reviews” to find a link to it. I hope it is helpful for those of you that are planning to do a Danube River cruise; or that it brings back some fond memories to those of you who have already done one. 13. Howdy neighbor! I used to live in Boynton Beach, hence my CC name. I sold my house in April and moved in with my girlfriend in Wellington. I love this part of PB County.
  14. Since we don't smoke anymore, I didn't pay attention to it; but I am glad that you did get an answer.
  15. We leave on Wednesday and will return on the 17th. That review won’t be done till probably after New Years. But hopefully sooner.
  16. I’m fine with filling my bottle with the delicious tap water.
  17. We were in a Neptune Suite and they gave us one large bottle. We had to pay if we wanted more.
  18. Thanks for that info. I usually charge everything, but am glad Euros are oK. Will definitely get some bathroom change.
  19. Since we are discussing cash and credit cards, will vendors in Budapest accept Euros? I would think they would, but want to see if I will need to get any Florints. I wouldn’t expect US dollars to be easily accepted, but would for Euros.
  20. I’m glad the review was helpful. I am hopeful that the slimmer menus were for lower capacity sailings, but there is no way to know.
  21. There were more suits and sports coats than I expected, but most were just like every other night. I’m didn’t wear a tie but didn’t pay attention to others.
  22. I had no idea. Thanks so much for that info. Looking forward to our Christmas markets cruise in 2.5 weeks.
  23. That is the same sheet I have. Since the Lido ones weren’t listed as NS, I assumed they didn’t have them. I can easily correct. Thanks so much.
