  1. That is the free cruise.

The way we read this same move over offer was that the cruise fare would be refunded through OBC.

That infers the new booking would be paid for by you & your current fare would be OBC.

  2. being contained with an obstructed balcony makes sense. I do not like heights either but am fine with a regular balcony on a cruise ship. However, I have started selecting lower level decks because I prefer to walk stairs...going up is fine but hard on knees going down. Then I got use to having public venues closer to cabin and walk to dinner:cool:

  3. Thank you all for feedback. I have decided on sheltered balcony as it was something I wanted to experience, particularly if I ever do transatlantic. It is always tempting to want to save but in the end, & at this age, silly for me to compromise! I always mark no upgrade.

  4. Personally, I always go back to securing the best cabin location as I can get. Gave up a good fare for BZ guarantee as I did not want to be upset at the last minute.... why? I like to walk stairs in lower decks & then mark NO upgrade. Seems silly for me to start saving after cruise fare & flights.

  5. This is all fine and well unless Customs is involved.

We sat in a large room with 3 other cruise ship passengers in Vancouver, did not get on ship until 7PM. Ship was late leaving for Glacier Bay. First date in May/2016........not enough staff at Customs,et al. Felt like we lost a whole day.

Everyone, CC people, hotel, you name it, told us to go later to avoid this.....some got there at 10:30 and were allowed on with the Disabled.

Normally, we prefer to go around 1PM....not worth the rush to "get on the ship" ...

  6. 8052 obstructed balcony or 6167 shelteredbalcony? I have been on route from Montreal to NY years ago. This is reverse from NY to Quebec City. Traveling solo with a group. Interested in sheltered balcony but obstructed about 500 cheaper. Think I rather have full view & use of fresh air balcony if weather inclement. Any opinions welcome as I have not been on this ship. Thanks.

  7. on the deck plan, there is a narrow white line by this cabin. Not sure what it means. I know it is under Kings Court but a good location. Any advise about the white line?...

    Thank you.

  8. So after some more searching, I moved the family to a Mini Suite (MC) room on Lido deck (round $400 extra for 14 days compare to the balcony room we had original booked). *Please let me know if this is a waste hehe*

My question is, is it worth it to move to Aloha Deck (MB) for $100 more for a 14 day cruise?

I do like the idea of being right next to the restaurants and pool on Lido Deck, but being on a lower level could mean less foot traffic and more stable for the overall ship. Plus the lift is close by so it wouldn't be hard to go up to Lido deck if we wanted to.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Just check what is above or below each cabin. I would stay put.

  9. FYI: Get an MD Dx and notes before you leave ship. Not easy to get AFTER you leave. This is usually what is required for insurance to pay. Especially with serious stuff. My cabinmate had a TIA with dehydration. She got better after 4 hrs with an IV for the dehydration.

Note: We were told that IF the MD had written she had a stroke, they would have had to take her off ship at next port!

  10. I have been on both. I prefer Celebrity concierge class for a variety of reasons as I would pick Celebrity over Princess if the itinerary was right. The reason the layout appears larger is because the closets are to the right after entering and provide NO privacy. I much prefer the way Princess has set up their closet as a divider to the bathroom.

When traveling Princess, always prefer Minisuites on Emerald Deck and that layout is much bigger than Celebrity concierge with the bathtub and the sitting area with 2 TV's. Celebrity does not have a Minisuite. They have Aqua Class which is the same size balcony cabin as the Concierge class. I feel Aqua Class is overhyped because of BLU, which I found just OK...rather eat at MDR or Specialty Restaurants. Always go back to Concierge Class.

  11. The cost to upgrade to Aqua Class was going to be almost 800 dollars. So, not being spa people, we didn't think Blu was enough to justify that much. However, we did want a room closer to the elevator, and we didn't want to be under the pool deck. So in the end, an upgrade to Concierge for $300 total made the most sense. For us, this felt like the right fit. Now, if I have issues with my knees while onboard, we wont have to long a hallway hike and will enjoy a few extras as well. We are content!:):)

Personally, I prefer C3 to Aqua. I thought the closet situation in Aqua was awful, as well as storage drawers (none)...everything over the bed where you have to reach. Blu is overrated in my opinion and you can always buy a Pass to Persian Garden. We have always had excellent service in the C3 category.
