  1. I wonder if it is only Aurora with mediocre food. We have just been on Ventura and all those choices were available and lots more. All decent portions, well cooked, and hot.
  2. Oh my God! That's worse than the prom deck on Iona😦
  3. Rome takes a lot of beating
  4. We have been doing the Bio bank, which is similar for over 30 years After your initial appointment you receive various questionnaires over the years. Husband went for a complete medical checkup a couple of years ago I didn't do it because of other medical matters at the time. It takes only a small amount of your time and the information is useful for all sorts of research. Well worth taking part. I believe we should all give back where we can
  5. Hi, the cookery club has a list of menus. You don't get to choose which one beforehand. You work in pairs. All the ingredients are ready weighed and in containers for you. You then work together and follow the chef. Then you eat what you have made.
  6. I'm far more common. I use the toilet roll!
  7. Yep agree. Three weeks before departure
  8. Try Nationwide first Avril. Selbourne used them for his long cruise and saved hundreds for his long cruise. Loads of posters agreed with him after he mentioned it
  9. We have been using Intercruises from Newcastle (Washington services) for years. Never missed a ship. Three weeks ago we were picked up at 5.30am and in port at 12.50pm. The usual contractor from Newcastle is Weardale coaches. They use two drivers so you don't have to stop too long for breaks. When you arrive at the port you go straight to check-in. For return P&O know you are on coach and are given an early checkout. Unfortunately it can take up to an hour for everyone to be on the coach. We have arrived back at Washington at various times between 4-5pm
  10. Wow Jane. What a day I hope you now manage to have a good sleep. I bet you have a stonking headache tomorrow. Take care
  11. As the saying goes "there's nowt so queer as folk" Probably people who were going to book but couldn't decide which cruise
  12. Do they even take a test in the Caribbean? They definitely don't have mot's. We have been on Fred Flintstone mini busses!
  13. You may be wrong there. I was looking forward to the new ship which wasn't going to be full or school holidays. Within two days of it being announced the cruise was fully booked.
  14. Ok, If a group wants to apply together. All cabin nos. and guests have to be entered on the application form. Everyone has to pay £10. So for six £60, but you would have six chances of getting a ticket.
  15. We have been on a cruise with Gary Barlow. You are sent an email before you sail telling you all the details. You also receive a letter in your cabin giving full details. You then receive an application form. Again setting out the terms and conditions. No one could possibly say they were conned. You don't have to pay if you don't want too! We didn't queue for 2 hours. We were told when the doors would open. We left our cabin 10 mins. before and joined a moving queue. I am amazed sometimes at how tight some people are..... it's £10 for teenage cancer trust!
  16. Yes, you are right we have just returned from Ventura. We had a fabulous time and thought all the food was very good. I only had one mediocre meal. Like you we went to Sindhu twice and I had the best fillet steak I have ever had. Perfectly spiced and cooked. Our steward, C deck, had a laundry bag with face cloths in it. We were very lucky with embarkation and disembarkation. No problem with either. We travel by coach and I wish all my cruises left on Sunday. I'm glad you had a good time and will be cruising with P&O again
  17. On Ventura at the moment and there are lots of posters for 10% off and double OBC. When you look closer it does say off certain select cruises!
  18. Thanks Tiger. Onboard now so will find out tomorrow
  19. Thank you. I use a similar recipe with condensed milk for cheesecake. This seems just up our street. I will try it when I'm back from holiday
  20. Selbourne could you say how it has been returning home. Usually after 14/21 day cruise things are normal after a couple of days and you forget you have been away. I was just wondering if such a long cruise has been different
  21. Thank you for posting this. We regularly travel on the coach so this is good to know
  22. Agreed. However all hypothetical. It isn't going to happen again for years 😉😀
