How sweet it is!

We will be boarding the Regal Princess in NYC on November 1. How strict is Princess in regards to the progressive cruise check-in times? We will be arriving early and would like to board as soon as possible (want to book the sanctuary!).
Thanks!
Yep! It's a 'suggested' time. Last time I sailed outta Brooklyn, we were onboard by 12:30pm. Come Nov 1st, we'll be @ the pier by 10am. :D

I prefer HIGHWAY PATROL on ThisTV.
10-4 !!

What about these CULINARY DELIGHT snacks:
Fresh Vegetable Platter With Cheese Dip $6
Tray Of Imported And Domestic Cheese With Crackers $12
Anybody ever get one?? How was it?
(Please don't flame me. ;p I know I can get food from the buffet and take it to the stateroom.)

WoW!! Brilliant responses and I thank you for them!
I didn't know all of the aforementioned venues would be open ON embarkation day! Especially the MDR for lunch. What a friggin' treat!!
-
Besides unpacking & muster?
Which eateries are open to all, etc? We'll be on Regal. Thanks!!

I always say that a mini suite should never have the word "suite" in it.
Pretty misleading. Its really just a larger cabin.
Don't forget about the bathtub!

YOU are the GREATEST, Haboob!!

YIKES!!
This thread went from which cabins have the Ocean Medallion installed on Regal to man-overboard!!
Does anyone know which decks & staterooms have it? There was a thread, once upon a time, that listed them. I've searched 'n searched to no avail!!

Let us know how it goes!
I sure will!!

Thank You SO much SSMEX for the detailed instructions!!
Did you have to remove the white cover first? (pic in link below)
Here's the snapfish pic: ;p

Our stateroom will have it mounted like this: https://www.snapfish.com/photo-gift/...68060/SNAPFISH
Do you know how to remove that white cover? (red arrow)
Here's the pic: ;p

You're welcome. The below picture shows the potential problem with sideways insides.
To get to the inputs, you need to reach around the left side of the tv. But, it's mounted
so close to the wall that it's not possible to get a paw in there.
The cabins with the mirror-image layout are fine.

If you are in a medallion enabled cabin, this could be helpful:
Helpful? Are you serious??!! It was amazing!!
THANKS SO VERY, VERY MUCH for the pic & link pablo222!

Just got off the Aug 11 sailing on the Caribbean Princess to the western Caribbean. Will likely write up a complete review later, but for reference, it is possible to connect your HDMI device to the new TVs that are part of OceanView/Ocean Medallion on Caribbean Princess. Our room had new 4K LG TVs that were roughly 40-45 inches.
The procedure is a bit tricky and unintuitive, but here is the procedure:
- Connect your HDMI device to the HDMI port on the left side of the TV. Use the open HDMI above the ethernet port that the OceanView box uses.
- Using the remote, launch one of the live TV channels. The bridge camera or the ship information channel usually work, but you may have to try one of the live TV channels (e.g. MSNBC).
- Reach under the middle of the TV to find the on-TV directional jogger. Press in once to open the circular four-way menu, then toggle left and select the input selector. A menu will open on the right side of the TV. There should be a red dot next to "Live TV" (if the dot is next to HDMI, you didn't do step two correctly). Toggle down to HDMI and select it. This should successfully switch the input to your HDMI device.
Audio carries over HDMI like it should, but do note that at least on our TV, the edge calibration was a little off and I lost about 2% of the edges.
Let me know if you have any questions about this or anything else on the Caribbean Princess.
Thank You SO much SSMEX for the detailed instructions!!

If so, PLEASE tell me how you accomplished it!! I see there is some sort of 'cover' preventing folk's from getting 'on the side' of the TV. We want to be able to play DVD's on the big screen. I'll be forever grateful!

46 days. Starting Keto Diet tomorrow!!

Would we sail her again? Absolutely. I just hope that the refurb cures what ails her, and the bean counters come to realize that eventually even their most loyal customers will start looking elsewhere if they keep diluting what is supposed to be a more upscale product.
Loved your review, wbrumel!!

We’re on the Regal transatlantic right now and ***** still has only the limited few cabins working. Clearly not fully implemented. I will say, the internet is fabulous. Way faster than any ship I’ve sailed on. Not like at home ... but not a whole lot slower. No problems streaming video or FaceTime video to home. Pictures upload to FaceBook very quickly.
Thanks for the update BigGuy25!! Sounds like ***** won't be shipwide for our Nov 1st sailing outta Brooklyn. Great news about the internet speed, though!

The one thing I noticed was the attire. You can basically where anything in the dining room. Shorts - go ahead and wear them. Tank top - acceptable, Back Pack on your back - Good place to put leftovers. On formal night I saw a lady with her cheeks hanging out of her shorts, tank top, flip flops, ball cap and back pack. Ugh. Now we don't dress up for formal night anymore, but that was ridiculous. I wear nice dress slacks and a nice top. Hubby wears nice slacks and nice long sleeve button down shirts and his good loafers.
That really tickled me, cherylakers!! Thanks SO much for taking the time to make the comparison!

I know this post is several months old, but we are in L101 in November and I'm considering doing this the evening we are in St. Thomas as well, since we are there so late. I am curious what the menu was like. Do they have you choose your options a day or two beforehand, etc? There isn't a whole lot of information to be found about specifics.
Thank you!
Interesting video, albeit 8 years ago!! ;p

Yes they do.
I was on the Regal Princess last Halloween with my three under six grandchildren.
They all ran screaming when grandpa appeared.
We all had a great time

OMG!
I woulda been outta there, too!!
GREAT job, GrandPa!

We are cruising on Island Princess and our departure date is October 31, 2018. Does Princess normally celebrate Halloween? Do the passengers dress in costume?
ABSOLUTELY!!
Here's a short video.
