Thanks so much! We are heading out on this itinerary in Nov.
If anyone is having trouble viewing the photos on a computer using Chrome - I just right clicked each photo - chose "open photo in new tab" - and was able to use the Chrome zoom feature to blow up the pics!

We only cruise once a year, so my current goal is to never repeat a ship. Once we retire and are able to cruise more frequently, I am sure that goal will fly out the window.

This is a question that I cannot find an answer to.
If I purchase a drink (any kind - alcoholic or non-alcoholic) while in port, can I carry the drink back on with me when I reboard?
Last year, I purchased a frozen drink at the port in St Martin and I hurriedly drank all of it before getting back to the ship because I didn't know if that was allowed. Gave myself a terrible brain freeze!

Except - the OP didn't make a mistake. The person who stole her items did. Any fool with access to the internet can pick a TSA lock, and a zip tie can be cut easily, What was she supposed to do - hang out in the hallway guarding her luggage until it was taken by the crew?
This is one of the things I have always been uncomfortable about with Carnival and RCCL - the hours that my luggage has to hang out in the hallway waiting to be taken. On Celebrity, our luggage was removed within 5 minutes of us putting it out - and I never saw luggage sitting in the hallway that last night.
Also - I've read several comments that $200 was not a lot. True, but our house was burgled 15 years ago, and of all the tvs, computers, and jewelry that was stolen, it was the decorative wax egg that I had purchased as a memento from a family trip for $10 that bothered me the most. It still burns me - no resale value and I loved that egg! Why???

I go up to the Lido first thing in the morning and bring back hot omelets, bacon, burritos back to the room so we can sit on our balcony and enjoy. Best way to carry everything is to get room service of coffee and juice and then use that tray to carry food back to room. Room service and the MDR are the only places you can get tomato juice which I love.
This is such a great idea! I had read elsewhere of someone bringing a tray with them - but this way we get a wake up service and a tray!

Will be 8 and 5 at cruise time
Unless your kids have a fear of heights, they will be perfectly safe on the pull down. There is a rail and ladder and it is fun, actually! However, the mattress is removable - or you could have the 2 kids share the sofa bed. When my kids were that age they shared a twin bed with no probs.

I'd do the seven night - not because of length - but because the longer cruises tend to have a more family-centered atmosphere. I've been on a 5 night carnival cruise inside with 4. It was doable, but I told my husband never again - the configuration of the inside 4-person means that a bunk will be above you no matter how you configure beds. That was too claustrophobic for me. In most OV and balcony there is only one pull-down bed and it is above the sleeper sofa = a lot roomier feel. Also, the pool (on shorter cruise) seemed to be overtaken with drunk adults a lot of the time.
If most of your teenagers are boys, I'd go for the balcony room as it would give you a nice experience (balcony) and enable some to sit out on balcony to give privacy for the others getting dressed. If you have mostly girls, I'd pick an OV for the extra 1/2 bath.

We happen to live within driving distance of 7 southeastern US ports - so I limit our cruising to these. However, I choose from these ports based on ship (1st). cost (2nd) and itinerary (3rd.)
Eventually - when we retire - we will be able to fly to ports that offer more variety, but for now, we are content to continue exploring the Caribbean.

Of course not! No self-sufficient adult "needs" someone to clean up after them at all!
And while we are at it, no healthy adult MUST eat 3 meals a day. One meal is adequate for most folks.
Oh, and anyone who cannot entertain themselves is obviously lacking in intelligence and imagination.
So, I say cruise lines should cut back to one "free" meal a day, get rid of all those silly entertainment options, and supply each cabin with a washer/dryer and cleaning supplies.
After all - that's all anyone really "needs"

We docked overnight in Barbados on our last Celebrity cruise (left around noon the next morning)
I loved NOT having to worry about getting back to the ship. We just spent the day shopping and eating and went back to the boat when we wanted

You can clear cookies for the individual site, and not have to clear all cookies in your browser. This video shows how to do it in Chrome on the PC, but similar techniques are available for Firefox and other browsers.

Thanks for the replies we are 50 years old and not into the wild and crazy party scene but like to have a few drinks converse with others. We like to hang out in the casino and donate some money .
I always wanted to do a transatlantic and she has always wanted to see Ireland so I thought maybe this was a way to do both

We are the same age as you and absolutely fell in love with the Eclipse last December. Here are the notable differences:
1) Celebrity treats its guests like adults: no pool towel check out, one adult in a cabin can have the drink package without the other having to etc.
2) real hand towels in public restrooms (not paper)
3) free champagne at boarding
4) return to ship after port to cold water with fruit slices and iced hand towels (if hot)
5) very, very nice bathrooms in cabin.
6) real ice cream with toppings in buffet
7) buffet is laid out in such a way that there is virtually no line waiting to get food.
8) Adult only pool area is beautiful!
9) Very few children.
10) MDR is luxurious with tablecloths and full silverware setting
11) Cafe Al Bachio has the best free desserts we have ever had on a cruise ship (I am usually not a fan of cruise ship desserts)
12) No loud announcements throughout the day.
13) Muster consisted of gathering in an indoor area and watching a movie.
14) outside loungers have padding.
15) multiple, comfortable indoor locations to just hang out and chill.
I could go on, but I'm sure you can tell we absolutely loved it. It is true that things start to shut down well before midnight, but we kind of liked having the ship all to ourselves late at night. We met another couple in the card room who loved to play and met them most nights and stayed up late playing games.
I know that I was really on the fence about Celebrity before finally taking the plunge, because of all the reports of old folks and lack of activities - And yes, at 50 we were among the younger minority - lol! But we were looking for a romantic, relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we found.
Carnival is a good fit for us when we take the kids along - but for just the two of us, there is no question that Celebrity is our cruiseline of choice!
PS - I forgot the best (for us) No smoking in the casino!!!
Bummed I have to cancel today.

I just read through 6 pages to get here! I didn't realize until half-way through that this was last year :) Then I had to keep reading to find out what happened. Prayers for you and your congregants as y'all face the looming challenges before you. And I hope you eventually get to take another cruise - lol!
