One small correction to your assertion about the PBS scheduling. You have said a number of times that it was scheduled after you booked but it had always been scheduled for the year out. I know because I wanted to book that cruise because they were on it and I watched it the whole time but was unable to make that cruise. Their website shows their schedule a year out.
I don't post much but I am so glad you are giving them their rightful due. How exciting to be on their cruise! I envy those who can partake!:)

We recently returned from a Regent b2b cruise of 22 days, the first 12 day cruise had almost no young people, the second part was full to the brim with families, teenagers, people in their 20s and 30s, and the very very young.
Both cruises were delightful and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves very much. I spoke to many young people and found them good hearted and interesting. I personally enjoy talking to teens and this group did not disappoint. There was also a good international mix aboard which I like to see happening.
Continue to bring your loved ones with you and enjoy all the world has to offer.

I'm sending you and your wife my sympathies as well. I truly hope you receive some satisfaction.

Thanks very much, Marc. That is immensely helpful!

What a great post, Jeff! So incisive and well articulated as to why these musings are so enjoyable. I've been reading for years and this morning I went back a couple of years and reread some random posts. I felt bad that these posts will be lost in the mists of time!
Humm...a virtual book. A virtual knees up Mother Brown.

Good morning Lois,
Yes, I was thinking of publishing all the Water Cooler threads as a book. Or having a couple of volumes of the most interesting exchanges.
I can now see all sorts of problems and issues with doing this. Perhaps not a good idea.
Oh well, never mind. Continue on please.

Dear Coolers at the Round Table,
Has anyone given any thought to publishing your many exchanges over the years? This place is most enjoyable to visit and I think the volumes you publish would not only be enjoyed by many people who don't participate but bring great satisfaction to this group of people who do.
The pleasure this will bring to you all will last for years. I would like to have copies myself as this site is a daily read for me!

Lovely, wonderful post.
You and your family set a nice example for enjoying life. Thanks for your thoughts.

I agree, TC. Only 30 more days to get to Platinum and receive the only perk I really want-free laundry!
BTW, when Regent recently created the top two tiers, shore excursions discount was removed for Gold. Grrr.

Traveled only 18 years and are now bored with all the interesting and wondrous things in the world??
No, you don't speak for me either. Or most people I know who've been traveling decades longer than that. You do phrase your words in a very absolute way, not allowing for the possibility that others might not share your views.

LynnRuns, thanks so much for posting the kids activities! That will be very helpful for next year's Alaskan cruise with the grandchildren.
Thank heavens there is no listing for paintball!! 😳

Keith is exactly right about ship's responsibility when sending bags home. I find it easier to use the same company if we use shipping both ways, however.
I too am surprised that RSSC doesn't use LF for the Grand Voyage. Other than the one incident three years ago where LF did not pick up, I've had no issue.
-
I meant to use a period, not a question mark.

There is some tie-in with Regent. I have used LF for 6 years with no problem but one which occurred with a Regent arranged pick up from Singapore. LF completely botched it and Regent took care of it with LF once I wrote a complaint letter.
So yes, I would recommend using LF?

We too are booked apparently with that post on the Mariner ( and an F on the Explorer) and I understand that other considerations play a part in which suite gets booked. But I'm glad that it doesn't seem to be a deal breaker.
Your posts are always informative and enjoyable!

Well put, Wes. I did not realize the connection at first but I believe you're right..

This is a most helpful review and very pertinent for me.
In another thread you wrote about a post by the bed in PHC. Did you have that in your suite? If so, did it bother you? Or did you like it? I'd appreciate your thoughts.
I have to agree that the lack of outside seating behind the Horizon lounge is bad as that's my favorite place to hang out! Had I known that, I may not have booked.
Thanks for your reviews of both ships.

I have eagerly read your reports on both cruises and enjoyed them so much.
Thank you for sharing you reports and photos with us.

We joined the roll call! Looking forward to cruising with you all.

Yes, thanks. Helpful.

Your comparison is very helpful between these suites and the larger suites. Many people however sail in the standard suites and would find the comparisons between those suites and your current ones as well helpful as well.
Your early sailings were in the standard suites, I believe, and perhaps you can remember well enough to make those contrasts with the suites you cruise in now.
Thank you for your posts.

Level 2 sticks are also used for long excursions. One's disability may not necessarily preclude taking those longer excursions.

Magnets work in 911 Explorer. At least they worked very well next to the desk.
