  1. Yes I believe the March-April cancellations were government mandated.
Since  Canada has closed their ports it seems ethically dicey to wait until the day of sailing to cancel.  The FCC is not an option for those who may be medically at the end of their cruising days.

Thank you for your response. Appreciate it.

  2. Bob, thanks for your always thoughtful ideas. I think we will wait until much closer to sailing before taking some action.

I know Alaska is quite financially anxious for cruise business but I would imagine that such an influx of people in early June can’t be very welcome to these relatively small towns.

The pre-cruise land program must be in jeopardy too. I can’t imagine the Harlens wanting to continue with this. I don’t really know about that as we are not participating in this.

  3. Hi Bob, we are booked On this beautiful cruise as well. I am unable to come up with any way this cruise could proceed. If this cruise is cancelled is it correct to believe a total refund would be offered?

also, if the cruise is cancelled, it seems reasonable to me that a portion of the insurance premium would be refunded. I can only hope!

  4. I had dental pain at sea but waited until the next day when we arrived in London..The ship was not equipped for dental care. If I remember correctly, as this was about five years ago, the medical office would charge you to give you a recommendation for a dentist in port.

I phoned my personal dentist at home and he was helpful so that I could wait until we got home. Whew...that was a close call and something we think about when we cruise. When one gets to a certain age or has some chronic conditions this becomes a bigger factor in deciding where to go.
