Happy Anniversary!! Beautiful picture! I've been reading along and thoroughly enjoying your review and writing style! Love the pics too! We have the Allure scheduled in a few months from Galveston. It will be our 1st time on a ship this size. I'm so looking forward to it, though stressing about not being able to book show reservations until onboard (or at least in the terminal). On a side note - I'm following along in the app also and I'm seeing that the outdoor movie tonight is 'Mamma Mia!'.😲 I find that really odd. I wonder if the Allure show cast is taking offense. LOL 😆

How well does the chat work? In particular on the Allure. We don't need Voom, but would like a way to keep in touch with each other while onboard. I thought i read on here that the app may not notify you that you have a message (by dinging or vibrating) that you just periodically need to check. Is that right? TIA

Ooooh - more sugar-free or at least reduced sugar suggests please (besides shots). I get tired of rum & diet coke. 😉 Hadn't thought about flavored liquors before. Not a big drinker but I like to indulge on cruises since there's no driving involved.

According to you, it definitely may not matter, but I'm curious... We're going on the Allure, our 1st ship of that class and I'm looking in the app at the current sailing and I'm not able to see when the shows requiring reservations are. Is this normal? It doesn't make sense to me that you can't see the show times. I can see the times for other entertainment that doesn't require reservations.

Thanks for asking this question. I just notice this today. On my DH & my upcoming Allure cruise is $49 cheaper for me to get Voom Surf for 2 devices than for each of us to get one & it didn't make sense to me. I was so happy I had thought to price it both ways. We really only would need login for one device at a time except we are planning to use it to try to keep up with each other on the ship. Can anyone tell me about messaging in the app - how much that costs and how it works. I haven't been able to find anything about it on Royal's website. I only picked up on it here. I think I've read it's about $2/pp/per day? So $28 for us to both have it on a 7 day cruise? That sounds a lot cheaper than Voom. Thanks!
