  1. I am a tee-totaller and Carnival is MY cruise line. The one thing I wish Carnival would use is the Coke Freestyle machines for Soda Plan. Was on RCL Enchantment last year and the Soda Plan used large cooler cups with a chip in the base that activated the freestyle machines. It was extremely convenient for the passengers and freed up the bar staff.

  2. A friend is looking at sailing on Sensation for a short Bahama cruise. She has a special needs child that has a motorized support chair. Are there any interior rooms that would accommodate this? She's looking for the least expensive room that would work with the chair. Any ideas?

  3. I have an April booking on Sunshine on an unassigned guarantee balcony. I was too late to get ES and full payment has been made so I don't have price guarantee. If I find an exceptional price drop on the same guaranteed balcony is it possible to cancel the original booking minus $50pp and rebuy at the new rate for OBC? Would that effect previously purchased excursions and pre-paid gratuities?

  4. Overall I enjoy the freedom to pamper myself for a while. Specifically the best experience I had was on Fascination when I was playing blackjack. A caribbean passenger (forgot where he was from) started asking me what to do on each hand. We both made money, he looked for me each day I was there, and started calling me "Coach". We had a blast and on the last night I gave him a chip from my local poker room and he couldn't stop talking about it. You meet some of the greatest people on a cruise.

  5. Nassau was not our favorite port but we made the most of it while there. We did not book any excursions, instead we walked to a beach not far from the port. It was a very clean beach and the kids really enjoyed it. They do charge for tables, chairs, etc but we just stayed in the sand, through some towels down and had a few drinks while the kids enjoyed the water. We did walk through the straw market, quite the experience if you have never been! It was enjoyable port but once again, not our favorite. We have not been to Grand Turk yet, it's on our cruise in February 2016! I have heard there is a beach not far from the port so we plan to hit that!

Just DO NOT Take the Horse and Buggy Tour lined up as you get to port. It has no great views unless you want to see the hospital, police station, and back roads. Straw Market and Senor Frogs are must see

  6. Sometimes the turn around can take about 20 minutes longer if the tide is coming in, so the ship heads West a bit with a Tug close by while it does a 360 to head out. From our experience when that happens, it can take 45 minutes or so to reach the bridge.

The ship has about 4-6 feet clearance at High Tide according to the Captain on our Behind the Scenes Tour a year or so back.

4-6 feet is still close by any standard, but low tide is not required, only a fog free river....:)

That does make sense Every-so-often I see the ship sitting short of the bridge in the morning waiting for clearance to get back to port.
