The "interior" cabins with an obstructed view are 4J's.....some of them are HC's.

It's great to pay a smidge more than a regular interior price to get some light and sky :D

The Breeze is an awesome ship, a week was not enough time for me to do everything I wanted!

The Tandoor Grill is only open during lunch, so keep that in mind if you want to try Indian cuisine. It was a little spicy for me, but that's a plus for most people. Guy's burgers were ok (I am not a burger expert) but the fries were the BEST! I also recommend the steakhouse, it is amazing.

I meant to try the Red Frog pub food but didn't get a chance. If you purchase the Red Frog and/or Blue Iguana Tervis Tumbler with a drink, you will get a 16 oz drink for the price of a 12 oz drink when you re-use your cup.

I paid for a spa pass so I could use the facilities all week $149 for one person, $249 per couple. For ME it was worth it, the thalassotherapy pool is wonderful, and the heated tile lounge chairs are more comfortable than they look. If you're in a spa cabin, it's already included in the price. Since I paid separately, they gave me a plastic wrist-band when I visited each day.

I didn't go to any of the shows, but I loved the piano bar. I liked the toned-down décor.

You might have more luck in the Ports of Call or the Scuba/Snorkel boards.......I usually dive Cozumel so I don't know about a good snorkeling spot.

I would call back and hope with a different person, you would get a different answer. I have heard it's a common problem. A few months ago there was a special and I ended up getting a small discount on an existing booking, so I know it's possible!

Can someone please tell me who the current Piano Bar entertainer is on the Breeze? John Heald's blog has an odd gap in Piano Bar coverage between December 7th, 2013 and February of 2014. We had Ben Gentry on our previous cruise and enjoyed him very much. I was hoping he would be back on by our cruise on January 26th. Thanks in advance.

It's official! I will be back on the Carnival Breeze Feb 15th - June 15th! But until then, time to enjoy some vacation in Miami, Orlando, Kansas City, and good ol' Hannibal MO!

Sailed with Ben on the Breeze in Oct. what a great entertainer! This was our 13th Carnival Cruise and the very first time we spent any time in the PB. I will be going back based upon the great time we had on the Breeze. It also helped that Carnival put the PB in a better location on that class of ship.

 

Ben really gets the crowd involved, keeps the glasses full and the bar hoppin. Lots of pros, great song list and good interaction. It appears he loves his job!

We were on the same cruise, I was one of the regulars in the piano bar, Ben was a lot of fun. Were you also part of the FB group for the cruise? Even though it's sailed, it's still active :)

On my last cruise I noticed several cabins with an official Carnival sign that said something like "Never clean my cabin" for those who want the ultimate in privacy.

Do you know the brand name and/or model name or number? I have found jewelry items similar to the cruise ship offerings at a better price on eBay. Sea of Ice is one of the main brands Carnival has; Shablool is a new line that I really like.

I don't understand it, but perhaps it's just a matter of exposure.....pun intended! And also a sad reflection of somewhat closed-minded views?

I was fortunate enough to see a great deal of art in Europe at a fairly early age (7-12), and of course many statues and painting feature one or more people in the nude, so I don't see it as objectionable.

I would probably have asked to speak to his supervisor. I took several things to my room on my cruise a month ago, and a few of the times the waiter offered before I asked.

I self-disembark, and it was a free-for-all before FTTF (at least in my recent experience, a year ago).

I got the usual numbered tags in my cabin the night before, but there was also a separate notice about self-disembarking (something like "If you are on deck 7, be in the Sapphire dining room deck 3 by 6:30am"). What wasn't clear until we got there was that they prioritized platinum & diamond (no problem with that), then FTTF, then I am assuming anyone else who was participating in self-disembark.

It was actually fairly smooth, and I was off the ship by around 7am :)

Two years later, I say THIS IS STILL NOT CORNBREAD!!!! You can't just put corn on top of bread and call it cornbread. :rolleyes:

 

I'm not from the South, but this is just insulting......I'm shocked that anyone would think this is cornbread! When you commented about them finally getting it right, I thought maybe it was too dry or something, not that they didn't even really make it at all!:eek:

I don't know if they still have the beef chili out at the grill, but I enjoyed making my own nachos with that as a base. Add tortilla chips, sour cream, tomatoes (or salsa) and cheese......yummmmm

Just off a B2B on The Breeze and Ben Gentry was great!! We closed the placed down with others every night (one night not until 2:40AM!!!). He does a great job of getting people involved and part of the acts. If you just wanna sit and listen --- well, you'll still get calls out - especially if you need a Baaarrrrrrr Tender.

Not sure how it works all the time but I will tell you that when I booked my parents 3 weeks before their Imagination Cruise the PVP put me on hold, came back a couple of minutes later and told me she had moved the couple out of the Handicap Room that she booked my parents into. It's the same PVP we have used lots of times and she was knew Mom and Dad always book a Handicap Cabin...

 

Not sure where she put the other passengers, but this was perfect for my Mom and Dad as both have had knee replacement surgeries and Mom uses a scooter...

 

So, in answer to your question, YES, you can be moved, even 3 weeks prior to your cruise...

I will enjoy my cruise no matter where they put me, I would gladly give up my cabin if someone else needs it.

I am not trying to be insensitive, but people need to stop placing blame on others. If you are a HC cruiser and you know that getting a HC room can be difficult, the onus is on you to book early enough to get the room you need. If there is anything beyond that, it should be on Carnival to not include those rooms in the normal population of rooms you can book via online or PVP. I could see how requiring a call to the Special Needs department to book a HC room would easily cut down on the number of non-HC people booking them, even if proof of disability is not required.

Here on CC a few people have posted that they got bumped from their 4J HC cabin, so it is not unheard of. Of course I am grateful that I do not currently have a need and will gladly give it up if someone else does!

If people cannot see why an able bodied person would book a HC room, nothing I say will ever convince them. My morals are in question because I booked an available room? I keep seeing "I'm not that kind of person" between the lines, and it's really a bit condescending and tiresome.

I empathize with those who have a need and have had a bad experience as mentioned by other CCers, but the responsibility is with Carnival and/or their TA to make sure that doesn't happen. If enough people complain to Carnival, maybe they will change their policy and hold back some of these rooms (at least initially) for those that have a medical need.

Do you avoid the HC stall in public restrooms even if nobody is present with crutches, a walker, or a wheelchair? Most people do not.

One thing I've heard is that when you shower, the water goes all over the bathroom because there is no lip to hold the water in. Is this true?

It's true, in the HC cabins designed for wheelchairs there is no lip or threshold to keep the water in the shower area, but their is a stainless drain. So there will be a little spray over on the rest of the bathroom floor, but it's not too bad.

a) I was looking at Carnival.com today and did a mock booking on the Sunshine. I noticed that one of the options given to me was an oceanview handicapped cabin. I wondered why they'd offer it to just anyone. Since it came with spa amenities and a good location, sure, I'd be tempted to book it. I wonder if I were bumped if I would get a balcony, since a regular oceanview would be a downgrade.

 

b) For the record, if Carnival will allow me to book a handicapped room, I see no problem in taking advantage of it for the extra space. I would also expect that if anyone needed the room that I would be bumped and I would have no problem giving up my room for them.

Sorry you were so troubled booking seven months out. We usually do that also. Recently we booked one month out.

Why because I broke my ankle could not go on our cruise as planned, Doctor gave permission six weeks after surgey to let us go on another cruise. no hc cabins available, did not fight it. really needed to be on a cruise for my mental health. Was it difficult in a regular cabin yes but thank god we could go. I was almost a new person. The people staff and fellow cruises my my day.

I wouldn't have had any problem relinquishing my room to you if I was on the cruise you tried to book!! I don't know how carefully "they" (Carnival and/or your TA) check but maybe because it was a month out they really were all gone?

I feel very fortunate to be able to travel as much as I do, but of course I am jealous of those on the boards who have cruised over 20 times! :D

Oh, you definitely made the right decision. The only problem is you won't want to cruise on non-spa ships in the future hahaha

I know what you mean!! ;) I've gotten spoiled by ships with steakhouses and reaaaallly missed it when I sailed on the Victory last year!
