Hmmmmm.....I'll be on the Liberty next month and am very intrigued by the idea the menu is already changed. The menu I had seen wasn't all that interesting to me (I'm a chef so I may be a little more blase than some ;) But I would love to see the new menu!
Someone posted the new menu in another thread and I hijacked it :D

This was posted in another thread.......

We were on the Conquest last week.
After we were told about glasses' date=' I observed how others were served. Each and everyone had "glasses". Only buckets of beer came in bottles.[/quote']
Dang, maybe it depends on the ship? I've read a few threads where people got beers and sodas and told the bartender not to open them, just hand 'em over, and they hoarded them, some took them off the boat in one of the ports to save money!
-
There is still a chance, albeit small. Either way, you are in the single digit now... Happy sailing!!!
Thank you!

I was hoping there would be some changes but it doesn't sound like it will be in time for my Magic cruise 9/28.......oh well, something to look forward to! :)

Was considering the Verizon cards. Do you just apply the gift cards to your sail & sign account? Can you use them for final payments?
I have read that you can use them for your final payments, but only if you booked directly with Carnival. Some have mentioned their TA's were able to apply them but I wouldn't count on that!
It can be done online, but apparently only one certificate at a time, so most people call to have them applied to the bill.

Cruise Cash from the Fun Shops on Carnival's website. Read the fine print because unlike the old days when applying funds directly to your OBC account, unused Cruise Cash will not be refunded. Cruise Cash will go into your on board credit account.
In another thread someone mentioned that you can go to the casino and draw out cash against your account if it looks like there will be money still on the account at the end of the cruise :)

I just think the Gift card looks a little nicer than the eGift card, which is a piece of paper.
lol, so is a 100-dollar bill! But I get your point, gift cards are shiny and pretty :D

Wow - what fabulous cabins !!
I thinK could easily give up a balcony to have one of those !!:D
Jane
The 4J's are great, and they are considered "interior with obstructed view" so they are interior price plus around $30 a day over, but totally worth it! If you look it up there are a ton of pics around of the front of the ship and the huge deck outside of them.
I believe 6K's are former 4J's but I'm not sure. They certainly look like they could have been!
When my aunt saw my photos she thought I had a suite! But keep in mind, most of the time the corner 4J's are HC modified cabins. If you don't have a need for it you may get bumped. I had the spa equivalent of the 4J (can't remember the code for it) corner cabin 11203 on the Magic and got bumped because somebody needed it, but now I have a spa balcony cabin, it's all good! It was my 4th booking of a 4J HC but the first bump.
Next year I have two cruises booked in the forward corners of the ship and neither are HC cabins - yay!
-
Wow - what category is that ????
4J's, all the way forward of the ship, with the "secret" deck in front. I posted a pic of my last one here. 2 corner cabins, 4-6 cabins between them, depending on the size of the ship.

The magenta cabins all the way forward.
http://www.cruisecritic.com/carnival-breeze-deck-plans/dp/?ShipID=609&deck=7
And I think the other one is 6K, it's the grand scenic view, same location (but only available on 5 ships) - the whole outer wall is floor to ceiling windows, and the two corner ones are bigger/have more window wall. Someone posted a pic of the cabin I have booked for next year, Glory 9201. Only two per ship.

It's an Anniversary gift for someone, so that's why I need to order the actual gift card.
Understood, but there's no name on the eGift card :)
-
I would not recommend using a debit card! I would leave the charges on the credit card; I think you can change to the debit card to pay at the end of the cruise.
They ding your account for a certain amount (not sure what the dollar amount is), then ding it again when you're actually making payment, and they sometimes overlap, making it look like two transactions instead of one.
-
I also would recommend the eGift cards, they have no expiration date and more flexibility for use, where the Carnival Cash has an expiration date (about 2 years from purchase) and cannot be used for OBC :)
-
I would recommend getting the eGift card instead, you get it right away in an email :)
I ordered mine via Verizon (10% savings) and they came within 7-10 days.
-
According to the fine print, the gift certificates that are $500 must be mailed in. I'm not 100% sure, but I decided to get the eCards instead so I could manually enter them myself or carry them onboard to guest services. There is also a $100 gift certificate that is the same. So, be sure you are selecting the one you want :).
You're right, the Carnival Dollars have to be mailed in. I called Verizon before purchasing them (didn't see the eGift cards at the time) and asked if I could use them for onboard credit and they said yes. But when I got them, it says on the certificates "cannot be used for onboard credit". So I had to make 3 phone calls but eventually was able to return them (since they didn't tell me the accurate info when I purchased them). They had to refund to my credit card, then I bought the eGift cards and received the email from Carnival pretty quickly. Yay!
-
I had that cabin booked on the Magic (in two weeks).......got a call from Carnival two weeks ago because somebody needed a modified cabin, so I got upgraded to a Spa Balcony cabin.
It's all good, the last time I had a balcony cabin was 10 years ago, I'm excited!! :)
-
Hm, I don't think it matters if you use a travel agent or not, you can still buy directly from Carnival and have it applied as OBC.
I booked a cruise through a travel website, but went to the Carnival website to add my booking and purchase FTTF. As long as you have a Carnival booking number, you're set!

Thanks...that's what I figured. Now for the million dollar question. If I apply 700$ in E Certs and I only use 600$ worth...WHAT HAPPENS TO THE LEFT OVER??
From what I have read, you forfeit the moolah.......so I would only give them $500 worth to start and then apply the others as or if needed!
If you Google "Carnival eGift Cards" their website has all the details......
-
Did I read that I can apply some of these e-cards to our account once on the ship?Question?? If I buy the GIFT CARDS I can buy cruise cash before the cruise?? I just paid for my cruise using the E-Certs. Its my understanding the "E-CERTS" have to hand carried and applied on board. I was hoping to not have to spend anytime at the pursers desk if possible.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Yes, you have to visit Guest Services to have them applied to your account as on board credit. Keep in mind only eGift cards can be used for onboard credit, Carnival Dollars cannot!

I am not the travel agent who is booking this cruise, just a cat lover who has already booked it.........let's fill the ship with cat lovers!!!!!
Since links are now allowed, please Google meow meow cruise and you will find the webpage for this cruise. It's also on Face Book .
QUOTE
Meow Meow Cruise! This is a cruise for people who love cats. I find every time I go on a cruise I run into some people who loves cats as much as I do and we end up sharing photos and talking about their personalities. So, I created this group cruise to bring us together. Meet some new friends and talk about our furry family. Unfortunately the little critters cannot join us but we can send postcards home.

I don't think it's on that ship yet, but of course that could change at any time.......

 What is this?
John Heald, the Cruise Director who is Carnival's front man. I don't know if he has his own website, but a lot of people follow him on Face Book.

I got a free update the last week for my 9/28/14 cruise, but only because someone needed the HC spa cabin I had booked......so now I have a spa balcony cabin :)
-
Well...that's what I did for my booking but wouldn't you know it wasn't available for the other 2 rooms since there was only one excursion left when I purchased. My DH says, "wouldn't it be rude of us to just leave them standing in line like that?". I of course am like, "of course not! They can store their bags in our room!". :D
Too funny.........but there's lots of time, I've heard they make more available closer to sailing.........good luck!!!
Will they ever change chef's table menu???
in Carnival Cruise Lines

I usually book at least one night in the steakhouse (if the ship has one) online. Then when I get my reservation confirmation email, I reply to that one to ask about the Chef's Table. :)
