Currently it looks like a multi-city ticket is going to cost quite a bit more. Hopefully that won’t be the case when it’s time for us to buy. What type of seats did you have? He’s planning on using the Barclays card but we could always get a Citi one too. However, it looks like 50,000 miles is only worth $750. I don’t honk AA allows cash + miles, do they?

I’m happy a couple of you like the nap idea! I would love to tour for a while, take a nap and then do an evening food and wine tour. Otherwise I’ll want to crash early, get up early the next day, which will make me sleepy early, and we will never acclimate to their late dinner time.

I was mistaken about American not flying from Charlotte to Rome. My husband wants to stick with the card we have, the Barclays AAdvantage Aviator. Are there better ones? Perhaps. However after doing some searching there wasn’t a clear winner so sticking with what we already have seemed sensible and made him happy. I seriously doubt we can earn enough miles fast enough to use for this trip, but we can try.

Is there a list somewhere of which rooms have been? We have a sky suite booked on the Equinox and will be disappointed if it hasn’t been updated.

We will most likely use American Airlines because we can get nonstop round trip tickets from Charlotte to Rome. Or are you referring to our flight from Rome to Barcelona?

I was referring to an American citizen, not American Airlines. it looks like it would be thousands less to buy round trip tickets to Rome and fly from Rome to Barcelona rather than buy a multi city ticket.

Playing around with different flights, I found it much cheaper to fly round trip to Rome and then get a flight from Rome to Barcelona. Seems like a pain, but the savings would be worth it.

I've tried. It still says No flights found. I'm guessing it's too early.

The reason I posted it here was because I was asking about flying out of Rome or Venice. However, I didn't even realize there was a Cruise Air board. Thanks though, I just posted a question there. We live near Charlotte and American is the largest airline here and our current card is with them. I don't know anything about alliances with them. I don't even know how to log into our account. I'm at the mercy of my husband doing so and he doesn't appear to be in a big hurry to check.

My husband and I have booked a cruise from Barcelona to Rome for June, 2024. The only time we've ever flown out of the US was a trip to Aruba many years ago so I have numerous questions. I've been doing mock bookings for this June. We live in Charlotte. It appears, to purchase premium economy seats, it would save us thousands of dollars to buy round trip tickets to Rome and then fly from Rome to Barcelona for our cruise. (Yes, we would fly in early) Is this typically the case? Is it a major pain for an American to fly from Italy to Spain? We currently have a Barclays AAdvantage credit card. We currently have a zero balance and only 50,000 miles, with plenty of credit available on it to put all our monthly expenses on. Should we stick with this or is there a better card we should look at? I have looked at the info on Nerd Wallet, but it doesn't give a lot of details. It looks like their top choice is something I've never heard of, "Chase Sapphire Preferred". It doesn't say which airlines we can use miles on. Does that mean you can use it with any airline? Or a list of them? I don't see a list. American flies direct from Charlotte to Rome, which would be convenient. Is Premium Economy on American Airlines much more comfortable than economy? I want to be able to get some sleep on the long flight.

We don't fly much. I'm terrified of heights and planes and have to be medicated. Hopefully that will work in my favor and I'll be able to sleep. What does code share mean? If we try to book 330 days out we won't have time to accumulate miles. I was hoping to wait a year or so to earn miles first. Our cruise is in June of 2024.

I did price them out for this summer, but was hoping it was so expensive because it’s not that far away. Is it really around 10k for two premium economy tickets? 😯 I kept seeing flights with foreign airlines. We have a Barclays American Airlines cc. My husband he will research a bit this weekend and see if the City card you mentioned is any better. We have a Barclays American Airlines cc. We only have 50,000 miles left on it. I’ve read that many cards will give you that if you spend so much within the first three months so I feel like we wouldn’t lose anything if we jumped to another card. Whatever we go with, we’ll probably just start putting everything on it to build miles as quickly as possible. It looks like 50,000 miles is only worth $750. We’ll be flying from Charlotte to Europe in June 2024. We will be flying into Barcelona and out of either Rome or Venice. What credit card, if any, would we be able to get the most miles out of that fast? Or is it too late to earn enough to help offset cost. We don’t want to fly economy that far. How many miles would we need for premium economy? What about business class? Anyone know which airline would be our best option from Charlotte? Is it more expensive to fly from Venice to Charlotte than Rome to Charlotte? Our cruise ends in Rome but we may go to Venice after spending a few days in Rome, if the budget allows. We already have 50,000 miles with American but I’m not seeing flights there with them from Charlotte.

I'm still in the planning stages. I won't start purchasing anything, except hotels, until we buy plane tickets.

Thanks! I just watched it and went to the Casa Batllo website. I see there are 3 different passes. Which one would you recommend? We typically do a bit of both.

We were very fortunate on our last cruise. They had several aqua rooms left shortly before our sailing so we were able to upgrade from Concierge class for a little under $200. We loved Blu! However, I wouldn't pay a lot more for it, especially since we don't use the spa.

I want to be you!!! lol It's a show? What is premium economy? We're looking at that when we fly to Europe, but don't fly much so I don't know what that is exactly. I booked one for June, 2024 last month while on the Reflection so our deposit was only $200. We booked our first suite, so I don't see us eating dinner at the buffet and we never order room service.

I would rather get to enjoy an area or two than go quickly from place to place. I certainly want to try some delicious french pastries!
