  1. Did they give you a new room? Ship seems full so im curious if they had one available.
  2. Now you have me curious who you are. We were in the middle cabana close to the hot tub. And agreed, great service all day.
  3. agreed. Ordered a irish coffee over an hour ago and no show. I would like my drink credit back though so we are using that chat feature in the app. That is pretty cool, been using that a lot and they are pretty responsive.
  4. We are on enchanted now and i will say, there is a lot of shade in the Sanctuary, but im sure you will find some sun, however, if you are looking for a chair directly in the sun, i dont think you will have a hard time in the regular areas. There are a lot of chairs especially on the deck above the main pool. Also we are in a suite and although i dont know if that gives us priority, but we put our name on the waiting list that was almost 2 pages long when we boarded and a little before 5, we got a call that we could have any days we wanted.
  5. we also boarded this morning and i have to say, that was an unbelievable experience. Arrived at 11, on the ship by 11:15. Incredible. How can princess do that so well?? Well off to a good start. We put out name on the waiting list for a cabana and just got a call to say we could have it whenever we wanted. My wife had to ask the lady on the phone if she heard that correctly... We choose 2 of the 3 sea days. hate to jinx it but everything seems to be going right. Very impressed so far.
  6. Denied on our Enchanted sailing tomorrow, 4/20. We have a S5 and were bidding on a S3 and S2 aft owners and penhouse suites, max bid amount but didnt get either. Ship my be very full. Oh well, s5 Forward suite will do just fine although one day i do want try one of the large aft balconies...
  7. See you on board tomorrow. We leave this afternoon from NC. Looking forward to it. Our first princess cruise in over 20 years. Yes, before carnival acquired them so it will be interesting to see the changes. Fingers crossed its somewhat the way we remember because we sailed princess pretty much exclusively pre kids and it was wonderful.
  8. We are on enchanted princess in 2 days and made the max bid on a couple cabins, but nothing so far and given we sail saturday, im guessing its not going to happen. It has also been sold out for some time. I agree thats its possible to get upgraded on a sold out cruise, but they are probably few and far between.
  9. Well, thats great, and then not so great when we disembark. Our flight is at 2:30pm so im guessing that if passengers are getting on that early, we are going to have to get off really early so fingers crossed they offer the check luggage option on our cruise next week or we will be lugging that stuff around for a couple of hours.
  10. Great info everyone, thank you. And that is quite a bit earlier than what we have experienced with other cruise lines of late. I dont think we have ever arrived much before 11:30 given we wait until the last minute to check out of the hotel which is usually 11 and then go to the port so usually on the ship around 12:30ish. The hotel we are staying at on friday has a checkout of 12 and we were debating on waiting until that time to leave for the port, but based on this info, i think we are going to leave earlier. Maybe around 10:30. thx again
  11. We sail this saturday and have been debating on what time to get to the port. We are thinking about getting there early to get our luggage in queue so it will hopefully get to our cabin early afternoon, but are also not excited about waiting around the port until they allow us to check in. Our last cruise, not princess, our luggage didnt arrive until after we sailed which made for very casual dinner attire for that night... Some other things that may factor in. We are in a suite so does that play into the luggage delivery priority? Also, i think there is a separate waiting area in the terminal for suite guests, Port Everglades, so that might not be too bad if they allow us in. If we did go early, it would be around 10:30 so hopefully they will allow us in the lounge at that time? Thx in advance for the info.
  12. Hi, I know laundry in a suite is included, but is there any limit? My wife and i run so it would be nice to send it out if not daily at least a couple of times during our cruise in 2 weeks. Just was wondering if there was a limit or if we just fill out the form every day and leave it for our room steward. thx
  13. Oh thats perfect thank you. I dont mind it going to my Creditcard as long as i dont get cash advance fees. Also, do you know if you have to do something special to get the credit on your casino account? We were on celebrity last year and i tried it at one of the slot machines and although it recognized my cruise card, it would not let me add money to the machine to play. Maybe i need to go to the casino cashier first? thx again
  14. I didnt want to open a new topic for this question because im pretty sure someone on this post knows the answer. If i use my onboard account for casino/gambling money, does that get charged to my credit card as a regular charge or a cash advance? thanks
  15. This article i came across today reminded me of this post and maybe one of the reasons Snaxmuppet is passionate about the topic. And i do admit, when im in europe i get funny looks when i tip the way i do in the US. However, im pretty sure the cruise ship employees, at least the ones serving the passengers, do not get a fair wage and tips are an important part of their salary. Probably not a reason to over tip, but i would at least tip the way i do in the US. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/04/05/mom-who-left-us-for-denmark-why-tipping-is-different-here.html
  16. How often can you do this? And is there a separate process for suite guests or do you still fill out the laundry form and they just dont charge you? thx
  17. We are on enchanted in a couple of weeks and wondering how crowded the lounge gets? Its a sold out cruise and from the pics, it doesnt look that big. thx
  18. Thank you and sounds very straight forward. We also dont play table games so i think we are set. Also, i read that you have to bet a min. of $3 per spin to get a point. Does that sound accurate or has that been your experience? Thanks again
  19. Thank you, great info. Is there anything special i need to do ahead of time to my onboard account to get access to funds? I remember trying to scan our room cards on a celebrity cruise last year and we could never get it to give us access to any money for the machines. Full disclosure, we had no idea what we were doing and there may have been some cocktails involved, but if there is something we need to do to fund our onboard account on princess in a couple of weeks, i would like to make sure we have the cash in hand if thats what they want rather then the credit cards we have on file. We are on Enchanted April 20th in a S5 suite for reference. thanks
  20. Hi, We are new to the casino on cruise ships, but would like to get started and i think Princess will be our line of choice going forward. We have been on 30+ cruises over the years, but have had kids for the most part and no time for casinos let alone free casino cruises even if they did offer them. Fast forward to now and we are empty nesters and looking to cruise/gamble more. So, how do we get started on Princess? We will most likely only play slots or video poker and i understand i need to drop a couple $1k in, but i dont understand how that is tracked. Do we scan our medallions at each slot machine we play? When we have gambled in the past, we would just put cash in the machines and know thats probably not the way to do it, or at least not if we want our gameplay tracked. Any info is greatly appreciated. thanks
  21. thank you and yes, that is the feedback i was looking for. Very helpful and somewhat inline with our last NCL cruise with the haven concierge. And yes, very contentious when it comes to tipping on this board. Those that tip like myself feel strongly about tipping, those that dont feel equally the same on their position. And the $100 you mentioned would fall in line if we decided to tip by request because i cant imagine that we would ask them for more than 4-5 things and that would be approx $20 per request. Thanks again for the info.
  22. My comment was more out of frustration rather than insult so i do apologize if you were insulted. I dont care if you tip or not, i just want to hear from those that do tip, what they normally tip and when. Thats it, not a debate on if i should or should not tip, i have already determined that.
  23. Right, i thought i made it clear that i would be tipping and understand that some do not, which is fine, i was just trying get a ballpark of those that do tip, what the range is. Hotel concierges are also part of the hotel services, but i still tip them when i ask them for a reservation, things to do in the area, etc. Same concept here, just trying to get a idea of what others have tipped in the past. thx
  24. What about the candy or teeshirts they also mentioned. Is that ok not to demean them also?? 'Perhaps a nice bottle of wine, candy or a tee shirt .... He/she will be pleasantly surprised and grateful.'
  25. Thats interesting, we didnt know that. So there is a separate queue for suite guests? thx
