  1. Hi, I know laundry in a suite is included, but is there any limit? My wife and i run so it would be nice to send it out if not daily at least a couple of times during our cruise in 2 weeks. Just was wondering if there was a limit or if we just fill out the form every day and leave it for our room steward. thx
  2. Oh thats perfect thank you. I dont mind it going to my Creditcard as long as i dont get cash advance fees. Also, do you know if you have to do something special to get the credit on your casino account? We were on celebrity last year and i tried it at one of the slot machines and although it recognized my cruise card, it would not let me add money to the machine to play. Maybe i need to go to the casino cashier first? thx again
  3. I didnt want to open a new topic for this question because im pretty sure someone on this post knows the answer. If i use my onboard account for casino/gambling money, does that get charged to my credit card as a regular charge or a cash advance? thanks
  4. This article i came across today reminded me of this post and maybe one of the reasons Snaxmuppet is passionate about the topic. And i do admit, when im in europe i get funny looks when i tip the way i do in the US. However, im pretty sure the cruise ship employees, at least the ones serving the passengers, do not get a fair wage and tips are an important part of their salary. Probably not a reason to over tip, but i would at least tip the way i do in the US. https://www.cnbc.com/2024/04/05/mom-who-left-us-for-denmark-why-tipping-is-different-here.html
  5. How often can you do this? And is there a separate process for suite guests or do you still fill out the laundry form and they just dont charge you? thx
  6. We are on enchanted in a couple of weeks and wondering how crowded the lounge gets? Its a sold out cruise and from the pics, it doesnt look that big. thx
  7. Thank you and sounds very straight forward. We also dont play table games so i think we are set. Also, i read that you have to bet a min. of $3 per spin to get a point. Does that sound accurate or has that been your experience? Thanks again
  8. Thank you, great info. Is there anything special i need to do ahead of time to my onboard account to get access to funds? I remember trying to scan our room cards on a celebrity cruise last year and we could never get it to give us access to any money for the machines. Full disclosure, we had no idea what we were doing and there may have been some cocktails involved, but if there is something we need to do to fund our onboard account on princess in a couple of weeks, i would like to make sure we have the cash in hand if thats what they want rather then the credit cards we have on file. We are on Enchanted April 20th in a S5 suite for reference. thanks
  9. Hi, We are new to the casino on cruise ships, but would like to get started and i think Princess will be our line of choice going forward. We have been on 30+ cruises over the years, but have had kids for the most part and no time for casinos let alone free casino cruises even if they did offer them. Fast forward to now and we are empty nesters and looking to cruise/gamble more. So, how do we get started on Princess? We will most likely only play slots or video poker and i understand i need to drop a couple $1k in, but i dont understand how that is tracked. Do we scan our medallions at each slot machine we play? When we have gambled in the past, we would just put cash in the machines and know thats probably not the way to do it, or at least not if we want our gameplay tracked. Any info is greatly appreciated. thanks
  10. thank you and yes, that is the feedback i was looking for. Very helpful and somewhat inline with our last NCL cruise with the haven concierge. And yes, very contentious when it comes to tipping on this board. Those that tip like myself feel strongly about tipping, those that dont feel equally the same on their position. And the $100 you mentioned would fall in line if we decided to tip by request because i cant imagine that we would ask them for more than 4-5 things and that would be approx $20 per request. Thanks again for the info.
  11. My comment was more out of frustration rather than insult so i do apologize if you were insulted. I dont care if you tip or not, i just want to hear from those that do tip, what they normally tip and when. Thats it, not a debate on if i should or should not tip, i have already determined that.
  12. Right, i thought i made it clear that i would be tipping and understand that some do not, which is fine, i was just trying get a ballpark of those that do tip, what the range is. Hotel concierges are also part of the hotel services, but i still tip them when i ask them for a reservation, things to do in the area, etc. Same concept here, just trying to get a idea of what others have tipped in the past. thx
  13. What about the candy or teeshirts they also mentioned. Is that ok not to demean them also?? 'Perhaps a nice bottle of wine, candy or a tee shirt .... He/she will be pleasantly surprised and grateful.'
  14. Thats interesting, we didnt know that. So there is a separate queue for suite guests? thx
  15. Does anyone have recommendations or history tipping the concierge on a per request bases and how much per request? We are sailing next month on Enchanted and will most likely use them quite a bit given we are having a hard time getting dinner reservation, the spa times we want, and we are going to ask them if they can get us a cabana which i know is a tall order but if they are successful, how much would you tip for that kind of request? I read online that the recommendation for a regular concierge at a hotel is $5-20 depending on complexity of the request so would that apply here? And before we go down a rabbit hole, i know some people dont use or tip the concierge, we are going to and would like to try per request this time vs. the end of the cruise tip like we usually do. thanks
  16. Sorry, i meant forward. We are bidding on a aft so i have that on the brain, but alas i dont think its going to happen to im settling in with our forward...
  17. Hi, does anyone happen to have any pics of B102 or one of the other aft balcony suites on Enchanted Princess or one of her sister ships? I found some older ships aft balconies but havent been successful in finding any on enchanted. Thanks in advance.
  18. this may have already been answered so apologies in advance, but has everyone that has or hasnt been upgraded for a past cruise been notified one way or the other? Its not going to break my heart if we dont get upgraded, but i would like to know. Thanks
  19. Thats interesting. If i remember correctly, RCL, NCL, and i think celebrity all have their hallway doors closed until around 1 so you cant even get to the cabins. That would be wonderful if we can drop our stuff off right when we board. Not fun having to drag your carry ons around with you if you board too early. Thanks
  20. That is going to be awesome. Last kid just went off to college so we are back to just the wife and I on vacation. We use to cruise Princess all the time before kids, but that was also before carnival bought them so it will be interesting to see if its anything like we remember.
  21. I think there some real truth to that. Im a GenXer so still working and take a couple vacations a year, but my sisters are 10-15 years older than me and retired so right in that boomer age range and the amount they spend on vacations is staggering, at least in my view.
  22. We'll let you know, we are on enchanted next month and plan on at least looking at the Vegan menu if they allow it. Our plan is not to scrutinize everything for dairy, eggs, etc. However, were not going to eat a big steak, probably go into meat shock... But we will eat some seafood. Im sure the buffet will have vegan options which will keep us on track for at least some of the meals during the day.
  23. I have this gifted psychic ability that makes me all knowing...
  24. That may be the case for a cruise out of japan, but i wouldnt recommend it for a regular 7 night cruise out of the US. Im pretty sure if you walk into the main dining room in a tux or formal dress on that type of cruise you will feel overdressed. I havent seen a tux on a 7 day carrib cruise in years. I did it a couple of times back in the 90s, but wouldnt even consider it today.
