Last week on the Harmony of the Seas my family went to Izumi Hibachi.  They quoted me $10 upcharge, $15 if we select 2 proteins.  They said, "Basically you get $35 from the UDP, then you're charged from there."

I went to Guest Services and showed them the various spots on the website that show Izumi Hibachi is explicitly included in the UDP, and Guest Services called the restaurant manager over to discuss it with me.  I showed him the same page, he took a picture of the webpage, and refunded the markups.

I know the UDP explicitly mentions a $10 upcharge when ordering it online, and I would've been fine paying that, but then they charged $15 plus gratuities on the $15 and that got me annoyed enough to hit up Guest Services to complain.

I will certainly keep that in mind. Thanks for the info.

One more question, what is the cost difference to buy onboard vs in advance? Is only one of us wants it, is that possible? Currently for Jan 29, 2022 Odyssey it says $66.99 pp, per day plus tip of course. Says it is a 20% discount. Is purchasing it onboard really about $15 more pp, per day?

Not sure about on the ship but pre-cruise I always call when the beverage packages are on sale. My wife rarely drinks and for years we have been able to call RCCL and have her pay for the refresh package and I get the deluxe package. We get 4 drinks per day as diamond and she might have four alcoholic drinks the entire cruise.

  3. Two glasses of fresh juice, 2-3 coffees, and 2-3 bottles of water.  I’m over half way to recouping the daily cost of the DBP before even having alcohol.  2 drinks at the pool and 2 glasses of wine at dinner and I’m ahead.  DBP also allows me to try out different drinks. If I don’t like them, I have no pressure to drink them.   If I paid $15 for a drink and tip I am probably going to drink it even if I don’t really like it.

Once again, the post makes no sense at all. We have been riding for years and own two boards.

So you should COMPLETELY know you cannot smoke while riding the flowrider. Shall I explain further or do you finally understand the sarcasm? I'll just explain.

So the original complaint is that the casino is an area where people can go light their cigarettes with a fire source, preferably a small self contained one. The cigarette will continue to burn as long as the person puts it to their lips and inhales.

Now on the flowrider, as you should know, there is a MASSIVE amount of water flowing. *Maybe where it got its name). To ride the flowrider requires a great deal of balance, something you might have since you proclaim to ride it for years. Probably, but I'm no expert, a place where the rider would fail to shield a lit cigarette from becoming soaked with the dread H2O. I'm not expert grant you but I have ridden the flowrider and watched it.

    It's SARCASM.

I just went to crew center and looked at their port schedule and it's not correct.  It show us on Harmony 28 Nov on 4 Dec which is the old schedule.  It just shows Odyssey and Oasis on 29 Nov.  We won't know until we get there as the port schedules are just not correct with all the changes.

I just did a quick check and three place show all three ships on the 29th.  Glad I bought Coco Beach club passes before they disappeared.

Received a Royal UP invitation for my San Juan Cruise several weeks ago.  After much deliberation, I booked the max on EVERY category above mine in the hopes I could surprise my hubby the second week of our b2b with a suite.  Our anniversary is during this cruise.

Today, I looked at my bids and the max bids have gone up over $2000 per person from what they were yesterday!  Complete BS!  If I hadn’t looked I wouldn’t have known.  I’m not increasing my bids, but my confidence level and satisfaction with the integrity of the process is in the toilet.  I get they want to make max profit off the process, but this unexpected increase is crazy high…and no notice for folks they actually invited to participate.

Luckily, we have the same jr ste both weeks so we really can’t lose.  Just completely disenchanted with the process as I’ve experienced it. If I happen to get an upgrade without adding more to my bid, I’ll be happy of course.  Just not sure the anticipation/stress (for me anyways) is worth it.    May actually canx bid completely at this point.

I checked and my cabin nearly doubled in price. Should I just go pay the new price. WT something are you complaining about. Have YOU never had a cabin increase in price?

Is there anything free to drink at Coco Cay?  Like a water fountain.

Of Course! Have not been there in a few years but I KNOW you can get your typical free non carbonated drinks at the buffet and WATER at any bar.

Cruise or no cruise for many months. Nassau is tough to digest. A place that has a monopoly for short cruises, but has not invested that income from port fees and passenger spending there to do anything to improve this port. All of this revenue was squandered away somehow. Seems to be upgrading the port now, but too little and way too late.

Looks fabulous from the ship's deck with a drink in my hand. All that construction is beautiful. I won't go to shore to ruin my image.

How much extra would you tip your cabin steward?

Unless I make a request of the steward we rarely tip extra. Often telling the steward to just swap out towels as we rarely bring food or drink back to the room and keep the room tidy for our own enjoyment. Asking for ice or toher requests does bring out an extra tip for them.

$1 per drink, drink package or not.

So in the new Port Canaveral Terminal you check it at one of many round bar-top style tables. Each table has a Carnival Rep all with iPads. Could she have scanned my docs with that iPad? I guess so, but I never saw her do it. Seems like the docs were given a cursory glance and handed back to me. Our passports were scanned with a reader on the iPad.  I even remarked to my wife after being checked in that I feel 100% certain I could have faked all of those documents and been fine (this is not an endorsement to do so, just a statement of my opinion of the process).

I think you are 100% correct. I didn't really look at my vaccine card until this morning when I had to enter my shot dates as part of registering for my 2 day pre-cruise covid test. Some card stock and address labels. My wife and I tested positive last November and our official test results were on a copied form it looked like a 6th grader made. No doctor stamp, nothing remotely official looking.
