I hear you.  This is super confusing.  I will be on Edge this summer and actually want a set table with set waitstaff for late seating (this is what I requested.)

From what I’ve read (and anyone can correct me, please,) the booking process does not reflect reality. The website/app/booking vehicle asks you to pick when you really do not need to. On board, for the MDRs you can then eat whenever you want and wherever you want.  I also believe, you can still have a set dining time with set waitstaff as I want (sounds like I need to go sort that out when I get on the ship as I have no options for dining reservations anywhere that I can see despite others saying they’ve done it. So that’s another confusing piece of this.)

All of the MDRs, from what I’ve read, have the ability to serve you from any of the menus, so it’s more about the ambiance/availability.

It is confusing because the booking process says one thing/passengers say another/and then there is the reality that exists.  I hope I have it all right, but decided I literally can’t stress about that as we will be able to eat. 🙂

I just phoned Celebrity UK .

The agent was really helpful and said that you do not need to book any of the MDRs ahead of the cruise.

Just go to the MDR of your choice on any night at your assigned dining time (or Select anytime) and you will be seated.
Hopefully it will be that simple. 🙂
I am excited to finally sail on an E class ship.

  2. I have been on a lot of Celebrity cruises, but I am soon to be going on my first E class ship, the Apex in May.

We have been assigned early dinner seating.

I am confused by the choice of 4 MDR.

Do we have the choice of going to any of them on any night, or will we be assigned a specific one for the whole cruise?

I have tried to book online and it states I already have dining time, so I am unable to do so.

I think whatever the rules are, just be consistent. But X is afraid of offending people.  Let them decide if shorts are ok.

I know lots of women that wear spandex pants while doing their errands.  I’m not a fan of those at dinner either.

    Haha, no spandex for me.
Can hardly breathe in them, let alone eating dinner!

  4. My husband won cruise on Century in 1997 through a work incentive. We then didn’t sail until again until 2015.

I contacted the Captains Club and they asked for the dates and itinerary, and also a photo of us to prove it.

Luckily we had a photo package included at the time and sent them a screenshot of one.

    They added the points immediately.

I'm sitting in Oceanview on Equinox wearing my fashion-forward tracelet.  No way to tell unvaccinated from vaccinated.  Lots of folks wearing masks.  I do in elevators.  And if you just can't stand to wear a tracelet, stick it in your pocket.

So you can take this one on and off?
It seems an improvement to the ribbon ones .

I had the same problem, both had our own email accounts registered, my husband received his email and I didn’t. Hopefully you have it sorted now, I rang Celebrity UK and they sorted mine immediately.

Yes, just been informed by my husband that he has now received his email, so just going to book our tests.

Does your husband have a separate email lodged with Celebrity ? My husband received his own email with link to PCR test

Yes, he has his own account with separate email. I finally managed to speak to someone and they are going to send out email.

it would be nice to get it all booked up, one less thing to worry about!

  8. I am really looking forward to getting dressed  up every evening for dinner, especially after spending the last 18months dressed down!
I know lots of my fellow passengers will be feeling the same.

I love departing from Southampton . It means I do not have so many restrictions on how many outfits I can take (well, apart from my husband trying to impose his restrictions, lol)

Are they still doing the house style breakfast in Tuscan Grill for Elites and over?

We have tried to book first night discount in Tuscan Grill but it says not available. Also phoned Celebrity to ask and they said only a certain number of pre bookings are available and to try when onboard.
just wondered if the usual first night discounts WERE available?

We booked Tuscan Grill with discount for the first night on our 21/08 cruise .

The weather is good this afternoon and from where I am sitting - at a bar, that rule seems to have been relaxed - there isn't a spare seat.

I don't know if it is usual for Celebrity, but there are no bar waiters and no-one clearing tables.

I suspect - but it's just a guess - with AI the bars three outdoor bars that see open are busier than expected.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post on your cruise.

It is great to have first hand knowledge of what is currently happening on board.

I am hoping the negatives you are experiencing are down to it being the first cruise for so long and that things will improve as you spend a few more days onboard.

I have a vested interest as I am sailing  on the  21st August.

On a plus point, you have some lovely weather!
