I am 100 days out from June 18 cruise.  If I cancel today, due I get 50% refund and 50% FCC.

    Thank you lasvegaswinner1.

This was my understanding too, I need to speak to my TA again and see if they can double check their information.

It might make my decision of whether to cancel or not a bit easier.

  2. I have just spoken to my TA , to ask about the FCC details should I wish to cancel.

They have stated that although I am in the 90-61 day bracket, I will only receive FCC, not the 50% refund and 50% FCC.

They also stated that I could use it to book a cruise in 2022 as long as I booked it before 31st December 2021.  (Which I don’t think is correct)

Has anyone from the UK cancelled and actually  received a refund?

Didn’t intend to hijack the thread. I thought I was talking about the same thing because I am not seeing any promotion code even though there is a blue star by the cabin category, thus no change in pricing as illustrated in the screen shot.

    Same.

  4. I am looking at a back to back cruise next May.

It also shows the blue star, but there is no option to click on it and see the offers.

All the cabin categories including suites have it , so I dont know if it is the 202O reduced rates offer, because it states they are not included .

  5. I Always decant my own products into the reusable GO Travel Squeezy bottles.

It’s so easy to get the product out, unlike the small hard bottles they use in the cabins. They really frustrate me.

I forgot to take my own wash bag to the Sanctum spa on my last visit, so I just used the products in the dispensers and found them really easy to use.

I must say my hair and skin do not seem to like the water on the ship, no matter what products I use. My hair is always lifeless and frizzy by about day 3 of a cruise.

Well luckily I booked my own flights ...it was so much cheaper and it's the same flights as Azamara would have booked me on anyway. I can change my Heathrow flight with a little difficulty but I might have to fly to Gatwick instead....not a problem for me. I am going to ask for a deal when I'm onboard ....if it's available great but if not, then it just wasn't meant to be.

Definitely will be booking my own flights next time.

Gives you so much more freedom to change your holiday plans when and if you need to.

Its  a great little add on.

I am on the 10 night cruise before this short 3 nighter and am seriously thinking of staying on for it. I am going to see if their are still any cabins left when I'm onboard, in the hopes of maybe getting a bit of a deal! You never know flipflap78 ....might see you onboard.

We thought we might do the same thing, and add this 3 night cruise to our 28th May sailing.

However apparently according to our travel agent, Azamara quoted us £1400 to change the flights for the hoeward trip,

This makes it pretty expensive and not worth doing, which is a shame.

  8. I love my Dyson hairdryer but would not risk using it on board.

Previously I have taken my GHD hairdryer with me and it did not work, and it took up so much space in my suitcase.

I have long curly hair which takes ages to dry. I also need a diffuser to try and stop the frizz (I know I am fighting a losing battle here!)

I purchased this cheap hairdryer and find it works perfectly and it’s really small.

  9. Thank you for your quick response excitedofharpenden.

When I tried to do a dummy booking for a cruise next year, those cabins were not showing at all. All the even numbers were, but not the odd ones.

Maybe it was just for that particular cruise.

  10. I just noticed that when I looked at the Azamara deck plans for Pursuit, the Cat 5 cabins on the starboard side are not shown. The port side are shown as on the Journey and Journey.I spoke to an Azamara agent and they had no information to offer, they said it may be storage.

Does anyone have any information on this?

  11. Hotel Metropole is close to St Marks and very close to the water bus. We have stayed in Venice 3 times and this is the hotel we will go back to. We booked without breakfast included and started every morning wandering the back streets and trying new places for breakfast.

    Vic

We always stay at the Hotel Metropole. Great location and wonderful staff.

  12. We went on the ships excursion "motorboat to Positano" last year.

We had a guide called Michaelangelo who was very entertaining and pointed out lots of places of interest on the boat journey to and from Positano.

We enjoyed it, but to be honest we felt we didn't have enough time to explore the town.

This year we are going to take the ferry by ourselves and spend longer and have a leisurely lunch and do a bit more shopping.

  13. We have done the ship's Lucca and wine tasting trip. We really enjoyed it. Our guide was fabulous and very knowledgeable.

Lucca is wonderful, and has a lovely piazza and lots of great little shops down great little streets!

My husband jokes that although we only had a little time allotted for shopping, I managed to buy a wonderful cashmere shawl.

The wine tasting was great. 5 or 6 different wines to taste, and not tiny measures either. Lots of lovely nibbles and a great host.

We really enjoyed the day, and a lot of our fellow trippers had a little nap on the coach on the way home.

I haven't done the ships excursion to Naxxar and M'Dina, but my mother is Maltese and lives there for half the year, so we visit her often.

We went to Naxxar Palazzo a couple of years ago and it is wonderful, very baroque. The house and gardens are quite small but are beautiful, and in my opinion definitely worth a visit.

  14. On our Med cruise last June our excursion to Florence and Pisa was cancelled. We got a note in our cabin on the evening before the day of the trip!

It gave us very little time to organise an alternative.

In the end we just got in a taxi at the docks and arranged a return trip to Pisa, with a few hours for sightseeing.

We really like to take ships excursions rather then plan our own. Hubby has a demanding job and just wants to really chill out and not have to plan too much at all.

We have a another cruise booked on the Quest this June, and we are really apprehensive about booking anything through the ship.

Really not sure what to do to be honest.

We have a couple of weeks until final payment, and these excursions are a major part of our cruises.

  15. My hubby and I booked a ships excursion to Florence and Pisa from Livorno for our cruise in June.

The evening before we had a note in our cabin saying that due to lack of interest they had cancelled the excursion.

We didn't really have a lot of time to make any other plans.

In the end we got off the ship and took a taxi right from the terminal to Pisa.

The driver dropped us off, waited 3 hours for us in Pisa, then drove us back to the port.

The driver was great, he pointed out the local sights on the way.

The total for the trip was 120 Euro.

It was a bit expensive but it was a lovely relaxing day.

  16. Does anyone know if a late disembarkation is available on Journey? Specifically in Civitavecchia?

We have a late afternoon flight out of Rome and would prefer to be on the ship, rather than sitting at the airport!

Recently travelled on Celebrity Silhouette and they did offer this.

    Thanks

We were able to stay on board until 2pm at the end of our cruise in June earlier this year.

We were aboard the Journey, and our cruise also finished in Civitavecchia.

We had to pay a small fee, $35 if I remember correctly.

Our flight was at 8.30pm, it was a long day!

  17. But if it is a GHD dryer, the ships electrics do not support its power needs so you get a pathetic puff only

I have just found this out in my 4th June cruise.

It's the first time I have ever packed my own hair dryer, but I love my GHD one because it dries my hair so fast at home.

I plugged it in with great expectations, but alas! Just a pathetic puff, as you say.

Even the ships one dried my hair faster and that still took over an hour!

I don't think I will take my own again 😀
