1. We always pick select dining.

Sometimes we have been seated straight away, sometimes we have had to wait.

The pagers are a great idea, it certainly beats standing in a queue, we usually go and get a quick martini before dinner.

  2. I really enjoy sitting in the library, although I have to agree the selection of actual books is rather poor.

However, last year on the Eclipse we found a National Geographic Atlas of the World, and we spent ages looking through it on different occasions.

I actually ordered a more recent edition when we got back home.

  3. Just off the phone with Celebrity...I was going to buy a couple of bottles of wine thru Gifts by Celebrity and was told that there will be a $25 corkage fee if it was taken to the dining room. How can I make sure that wont happen before I sent the bottle to the dining room?

I have just returned from a Celebrity cruise.

I ordered 3 bottles wine through the Gifts site.

I had one sparkiling delivered to my room and 2 white delivered to the main dining room.

I did not have have to pay any corkage fees to enjoy them with my dinner.

  4. And quite frankly I find a lot of posters replies to the OP are pretty rude and offensive.

I don't understand why some of you are so small minded.

This was the OPs first Celebrity cruise, and they had a suspicion that this event was a little strange,so they were wondering if anybody else had ever experienced the same situation.

This was my fourth with Celebrity so I am not a complete newbie, and knew for sure it was very strange behaviour.

And it is just as well they posted their experience as it does indicate that it wasn't just a one off mistake and it should be investigated by Celebrity.

  5. I recently throughly enjoyed my first Cruise with Celebrity but the holiday was slightly marred by what happened on the last full day.

On the final evening the Cabin Steward asked if he could turn down the room just as I was heading out, I returned within 30 mins to put some water in the fridge. I noticed a can of drink had been opened and partially drunk/emptied. Is this usual practice to earn a little bit extra? This left a bitter taste in the mouth, which was soon sorted by Customer Services but really was a dishonest thing to do. It also cost him his tip as there was no way he was going to get that after his dishonest behaviour. I wonder if he did this to anyone else?

Is it worth contacting Celebrity direct as apart from apologising and refunding the money there was little else Customer Services could do. But dishonestly should be punished?

    This is the craziest thing!

The exact same thing happened to us.

We returned to our room to find an opened can of Royal Club Soda on the counter.

We had definitely not opened it, and the stateroom attendant had locked the door on the mini bar.

We phoned the attendant straight away, and he said "oh, I thought it was yours"

We told him it was definitely not, and we would be checking to make sure we weren't billed for it.

Also he spilled half of my bottle of champagne and didn't even tell me until I questioned him about it.

We were quite shocked, that was our 4th cruise with Celebrity and we have never had any problems with any of our attendants.

I thought it was just a couple of mistakes, but your story has made me wonder now!

We were in 1144 on deck 10, and our attendants name started with a G.

Please let me know which cabin you were as it may be a problem that needs reporting.

I did mention both problems with the attendant when I completed the survey .

  6. We have done the same thing on our cruise on Constellation next year. except we changed from 8185 to 8181.

I am really looking forward to the extra space indoors and out.

We will miss miss the extra loyalty points, but even with the C1 points, we would of been 3 points shy of the next tier, so I guess we will have to wait until after the next cruise!

  7. Mine very rarely match.

Like scrapnana, I can barely stand it on my fingertips, so I will sometimes wear it for a special occasion or if I just want a bit of colour to coordinate an outfit, then take it off the very next day.

I wear it on my toes more often, and it's usaully a bright red.

  8. I think you should take your long evening gowns and wear them with confidence. I take mine, and cant wait to wear them on formal nights. There are so few oppurtunities to get really dressed up these days, so I make the most of it.

Its lovely to see how many people really do make the effort, I have never seen anyone look too casual on formal night, but then I really dont look too hard.

My husband works in the City of London during the week.

He has to wear a suit and tie every working day, but he still loves to put on his Tuxedo and bow tie on formal nights.

  9. Thank you for posting your review.

    Its fabulous so far.

Looking forward to your future installments.

We flew into Barcelona to embark on a cruise in 2011.

I really wish we had flown in a few days before and stayed in a hotel so we could explore.

It sounds such a wonderful and vibrant city.

  10.
Mmm; interesting.

When I called to purchase, I was told it was a US specific offer and they could not match it.

I'll call again armed with this information.

    Thanks. :)
Well, honestly just because the website shows it, it doesn't necessarily mean its correct!
I really do get confused about what offers are applicable to the UK.
Here is a screenshot of the page in my cruise planner.
