We are booked on the Silhouette around British Isles in August.

Just looking at the speciality restaurant packages and they have 3,4,5 and 6 nights available.

The cruise is 7 nights, so does this mean the restaurants aren’t available for a certain night?

Can I book 1st night and then the 6 night package or would this not work?

Thank you for any help and suggestions.

We are booked for 21st August, do you think this will be sailing at full capacity?

I wonder if it could be an unvaccinated child travelling with their parent who have tested positive.

My understanding is that you cannot get off unless your are on a Celebrity excursion and that masks do not have to be worn when outside or when seated indoors for food or drink .

With a lot of excitement and a little bit of apprehension , I booked a British Isles cruise on the Silhouette in August.

I booked cabin 2143 and initially I was very happy with my choice, however I am now second guessing myself.

I believe this cabin has a large slanted balcony and I am now wondering if it will be dark and make the interior feel darker too.

I would really appreciate the shade cruising around the Mediterranean, but we will be at the mercy of the British weather. On the one hand it may provide shelter from the rain but on the other hand it may block out any trace of sunshine.

I am wondering whether to switch to 1271 or thereabouts, do you think I should stick or switch?

Am I looking at this completely wrong?

I haven’t sailed on Celebrity for a while, so I have forgotten about the information on all the cabins etc, but I thought this is what is referred to as the slant.

I just looked at the deck plan - and 1243 is not a larger balcony cabin - nor is 1271, are you looking at the right deck plans on the right ship?

Oh,  I thought all the slanted balconies were larger than the straight ones. 
I will have to quickly go and speak to my TA   and confirm it .

You made a good choice of cabins.  We always try to get a larger slanted balcony, regardless of the type of cabin or suite we pick.  It will not be dark at all and as you say- will protect you from the rain.

Do you think there will be loads of children onboard these British Isles cruises?

Not that I mind children, but I made the mistake of booking in half term once and , let’s just say it was a totally different experience from cruising when the kids are in school.

I love Venice and have been lucky enough to have enjoyed  land trips and cruise visits there.

I agree that all cruise ships should be banned.

I remember the first time I saw cruise ships pass by my hotel window. I was shocked.

They just looked so colossal and really out of place and they were really “small” ones .

I would love to be able to see them, although it’s sad given the awful circumstances that led them to be docked there.

I have not received it. May have gone off the Azamara radar again.

The refunds I have received so far have come from Celebrity Cruises.

I assumed they were maybe refunding by the date of the cruise, but if so the first leg of my B2B would still be £98 short ,  So really I have no idea as to how that works out .

its all very confusing and gives little insight as to their process .

IAzamara cancelled my B2B cruises, dates 21st May and 26th May this year.

i requested a full refund through my TA on 17th April.

Was very surprised when I checked my account this morning to find that they had refunded 2 payments .

There doesn’t seem to be rhyme or reason for the random amounts though.

 They only make up about a quarter of the total amount I paid .

However it does confirm that more refunds are being made and hopefully it won’t be long until I receive a total refund.

I really hope that everyone who is waiting for refunds/FCCs receive them soon. I cannot understand Azamaras refund procedure at all .

Also I would like to add, that I have not received one single email from Azamara regarding cancellation of my cruises or confirmation of my refund requests.

My TA did not contact me either, because they were apparently told Azamara would contact all those affected directly.

I only found out they were cancelled by reading this forum .

mind you , I still received marketing emails from Azamara .

Yes, fingers crossed that we will get some clarity on the situation.

It definitely influenced my decision to request a refund rather than take  a chance on the FCC.
I hope that once you have the information you require, that it will make the decision a little easier for you.

I had a b2b booked for May this year, when I spoke to Azamara, they clearly stated that if I chose to receive FCCs , I could only use one per person per cruise.

I double checked as this means I would have to take 2 cruises next year to use them, which I really don’t think I will do.

Sadly, I am not sure I will even be cruising at all next year, so I have gone down the refund route.

I have just managed to get through to BA and request a refund after trying a few times earlier this week. 
The agent I spoke to was very helpful and told me to expect the refund to be complete in 20 business days. 
 

I am still waiting for them to cancel my 4th June  flight as I do not want any future vouchers.

My cruise was finally cancelled today , so have requested a refund for that too.
