One of the things I noticed while on board was new signage throughout the ship, there is really no more ‘ you are here’ kind of wayfinding so it took us a little bit to get used make to what direction to take, (on NCL we follow the fish) but the app helps for locations on the deck plans.

Some of the signage has these whimsical stick figures that made me smile.

We stayed in 8148 on March 25th cruise. Bed is next to the bathroom. The bed/bathroom is aft, or to the right when entering the room.

It was a nice, quiet cabin. Can't complain... right under the mid buffet made getting food easy, but not directly under, so no noise from above (as would happen on deck 9 cabins).

My SeaPass says our Muster location is D1. Do you remember where that is?

We take it to our dining venue and ask the sommelier. We did ask our room steward a few years ago but ever since one steward couldn't, we just take it with us now. It's just as easy... we're going anyway. We usually trade ours for prosecco or red wine.

I never knew that. We never cared for the sparkling wine. So, I can just ask the room steward to swap it for a bottle of red wine? That would be great. My wife has celiac disease. The afternoon cheese plate sounds good too.

We will be in that room on June 5th. I did read that there is an employee entrance directly across the hall. Was there any noise because of it?

When you book a Guarantee, it means you are guaranteed at least that level of cabin and will be placed in that category at minimum. They may place you higher depending on the sales of your particular cruise and the bookings specific to that cruise. Has your cabin been assigned yet or are you still waiting for cabin designation? Again, it doesn't hurt to ask, but with a Guarantee I'd not expect it.

I got an assigned room a couple of hours after booking.

Not necessarily. It doesn't hurt to call and ask. I've booked with a TA and had it applied after the booking several times. We haven't booked direct since our first X cruise, and obviously being our first cruise there was no upgrade available. If you don't ask, the answer is definitely no. So a simple phone call never hurts. It's the same cabin, but in a more desirable location.

My June booking is in C3. It might be a problem though. I booked it using the "Guarantee" thing.

One of the things that is valuable in being a Captain's Club member is the free one category upgrade.

As long as you stay within the "supercategory" you can book at one level and pay for the next lower level.

    Book a    pay for

    2c             2d

    2b             2c

    2a             2b

    etc

There are some exceptions such as C1, but it can be the most valuable benefit.

You MUST ask for it at time of booking.

    Happy Cruising.

That's interesting. Never heard of it before. I have a cruise on Summit booked for this June. So I guess it's too late now.

Below is a link to the benefits at the different levels on Celebrity.  Be advised the points do not combine between the two lines however once you reach a higher level, the level's are transferable.

Thank you for the response. I did see that before. None of which means anything to me. I did figure my measly 75 points would be useless.

We also just boarded in AQ 1140. We have stayed in this cabin before.

The shower has changed. No more jets. The shower door opens inward. I haven’t turned it on yet, but that seems awkward in that small space. The bathroom is beautiful. A “night light” stays on down at floor level.

The permanent hook in the living space (where I would hang my purse) is gone. I didn’t follow through and purchase a heavy duty hook to bring but I will before my next cruise.

I'm not liking that shower head. I wonder if I can ask them to change it to the hard jet one.

    Excellent point!

Previous passengers miss the features they were expecting that have been removed or downgraded, while new passengers lack that basis for comparison.  Therefore they don't notice the cutbacks, not having previously experienced the missing (or downgraded) items.

I think that is the point. My wife and I have been on the Summit twice before. We will be on her again this June. We do enjoy breakfast in our room. Before, we sat on the sofa, with the food on the table. How, exactly will we do it now? (We will be in a concierge room).
