We have only been on three other cruises. All were with Celebrity. We always got cans of soda. This "cup" thing doesn't seem like something we will care for.
-
I was just thinking about if we planned to walk around after eating. I guess I could get a glass and dump out what's left in the cups and leave the glass on the table.

If I take my drink cup to the Windjammer, how do I wash it out when I'm done using it?

Thank you very much.

We will be on the Anthem next month. We have only been on three other cruises, all on Celebrity. On those cruises, my wife, (who is gluten free), was always able to get the onion soup without the bread in it, in the MDR. Does anyone think the Anthem will accommodate?

My wife has celiac. She enjoyed the Canyon bread on the Celebrity cruises we have been on. Now that is the brand she buys at home.

We are cruising on January 26, 2019. When will we be able to signup for Entertainment and Activities?
-
We eat at Wendy's every Friday. They have the soda machines. The problem I have is with people in front of me taking five minutes or more making a selection. I assume it will be the same on the Anthem.

The soda play is $9.99 which comes to $11.79 per day, total.

Does anyone have a list of the flavors the soda machine has?
-
So, the soda plan for our January 26, 2019 cruise will be $9.99 each.

Is this a regular option to do? We are going on Quantum in Oct 2019.
Great idea!
Prices go up the first of the year.

Does the Windgammer have lemonade? Does it have sugar in it?

On the flip side, 20-30 years ago, dinner on a cruise was a 5 to 7 course experience with fine cuts of meat and seafood and elegant service throughout. Some dishes were prepared tableside.
Granted, meals and service like that can not be done on today's mega ships and most passengers do not want that type of formal dinner anyway. Also, fares then were considerably higher than they are now, so cost cutting is necessary to maintain profitability.
However, I do believe that food quality has decreased on the mainstream lines over the past 10 years. The decrease was very much on display on my recent Grandeur cruise. Some popular dishes were no longer offered. Cakes and pies had little flavor and many MDR entrees had low quality meats. I could not even eat the lobster tail served to me.
I think that the statement often heard on these boards, "I can always find something to eat." indicates how much things have changed. Passengers used to have difficulty choosing from the menu. Now they are settling.
I remember having pretty good filet steaks on airplanes back in the day.

Another vote for Bernard’s Tours if you want a good view of the island and get to the airport in time to see the big planes come in.
And no worries with Bernard getting you back to the port!! He and his whole crew are great!! We have used him about 4 times now.
We have only taken tours purchased from the ship. Taking a cab to Maho Beach is simple. We took a tour and when we got to Maho Beach, we didn't want to hang around and wait for the tour to return to the ship. There were a dozen cabs sitting there. We just took one back to the ship. If Bernard's Tours has some magic way to get through the traffic, just have your cab driver follow them.

Can I get gluten free pancakes in the Windjammer?

How many shrimp do you get in the shrimp cocktail in the MDR on the Anthem of the Sea?

Yes, no extra charge for the glass of ice.

I asked this question on Face Book. People seem to think there are no "cans" of soda. Just a glass of coke in the MDR.

If you don't plan on drinking soda all day and just want one with meals.
Bring your own 12 pack with you..
I think that's what we will do.

Thank you. A can is better than just a little glass. I do assume you can get a glass of ice.

So, if I want a coke with my dinner or lunch, will I just get an 8oz glass, (with 4ozs of ice), for my $4.13 ? No free refills?

In the Windjammer, instead of carrying cups, can we show our Sea Passes and have someone bring us glasses of soda?
