  1. What I do if I see a lower fare is book it in a cabin as close as possible to what I have - one I would be happy with if I had to take it. I do a courtesy hold and send an email off to my CVP. Most times they have been able to match or better it. However, you have to be happy with whatever OBC etc is available on the new booking. I agree Celebrity is much more likely to give you a price adjustment or OBC after final payment than Princess has been recently. Even though they are a bit more money they are becoming very attractive.
  2. So per the last bullet point those who booked with these TAs get upgraded to the Premier package automatically, while those who booked with Princess direct will not?? So wrong!!
  3. We were on the Edge last month and quite literally saw a photographer once. I have no idea where they were. We saw them by the Edge sign upon embarkation and that was it. Not once 🙂
  4. Sorry you are still unhappy. IMO this sounds fair as SV is a more pricey cabin. It's unfortunate that you had to work so hard to get the right solution but it looks like you got the right one. We have only been on one (so far) cruise on Celebrity but we booked direct and have a CVP that was very good in my opinion. When the Caribbean promo came up we got an extra $100 OBC without any communication on our part. When an additional sale came out - I did a chat an got an offer that we had already purchased, the person on the chat told me to fill out Best Price form and we got the difference in OBC about 5 weeks before sailing. This may be an option for you to go with Celebrity direct.
  5. Greg's Jeep safaris - the 4x4 one that Princess has is run by him but if you contact him directly he will customize one for you as well. http://www.gregsafaris.com/ We have done tours with him twice now and absolutely can not say enough about him. He is extremely knowledgeable.
  6. As they do at the pool and any deck venues. I would rather be drinking out of plastic with the wake view anyday!1 Its our favorite spot on the Royal Class
  7. I have to say I have mixed feelings about the non refundable deposit policy. Some other lines have refundable deposits, but I also know of people who just plop down multiple deposits ( us included) to hold several cruises before making the final decision of which to book. I am curious if anyone has booked with the refundable deposit and cancelled and rebooked at a later date, assuming no increase in the fare. Wondering if they would stop you from rebooking the same cruise.
  8. An additional couple of items you might want to take is a thermometer and a pulse oximeter. Even though the current strain here doesn't seem much more than a cold to most, we don't know about the other variants. The pulse oximeter will let you know if you are in need of a hospital.
  9. I'll agree with most of the posts here, the plus package works for us. I don't want to think about how much I am spending whether it be for a cocktail, coffee or soda. It's included and I am perfectly fine with the additional amounts. If it doesn't work for you - pay as you go for what you want. If you go to an all inclusive resort do you want to pay less for fewer drinks, not usually at least on the cruise you get to choose, take it or leave it
  10. We are booked on the Edge in April and actually thinking about booking the Apex for next year. We are booked in an Aft veranda and my question - is there a stairway at the rear of the ship. I realize there are no elevators but I was curious if there is a stairwell. I read a review that someone mentioned that the DW didn't want to take the stairs after drinking so they had to go the center of the ship for the elevators. Of course I can't find that post now 🙂
