  1. We had great success with Domenico from "Private Tour in Italy" We have referred numerous people to him over the years including our daughter and son-in-law a few years ago and my Son and daughter-in-law will be using him this fall.

Very professional and extremely knowledgeable and extremely well connected which will come in very handy in Florence and Rome.

  2. If you want to explore outside of Kotor than you will definitely need a guide/taxi. If you choose the guide/taxi route then I would recommend Milo from toursbymilo.com. Milo will provide you with that added touch and not much more than the cost of a taxi.

We used him as well as numerous friends and family.

He is truly passionate about his Country and very knowledgeable.

  4. Greetings,

I am not surprised that you have seen numerous posts about Milo as he is one of the best! I'm glad you were able to book him and you are in for a treat! We used Milo several years ago and I have referred numerous people to him over the years including many friends and family.

Your timing sounds about right as it was pretty close to the schedule that we did. Hard to say on the tender time as it all depends on how busy the port is but you have allowed enough time.

Feel free to e-mail Milo and get his thoughts. One of the great things about Milo is that he is very flexible and works around your schedule and what you want to do.

Enjoy your cruise and send my regards to Milo.

  5. Hi Caroline,

I contacted my friend Milo in Kotor and this was his answer...

"Unfortunately there are no duty free shops in Kotor, in fact the prices are higher since being a port town. The only option is some airport nearby, DBV for example...even our airports are not duty free zone"

    Regards,

    Frank

  6. Hi Caroline,

Hank explained it well. If you are just going to stay in Kotor than you can do it on your own. If you want to explore outside of Kotor than you will definitely need a guide/taxi.

If you choose the guide/taxi route then I would recommend Milo from toursbymilo.com

We used him as well as numerous friends and family.

  7. Prices are competitive and in line with most of the private tour operators. What set him apart in my mind is the personalized service that we received. We changed many things on the fly and it was never an issue.

My daughter and son-in-law used him last year and were just thrilled with the tours they took with him. I have also referred numerous other friends to him and all were extremely pleased.

    You won't be dissapointed.

    Regards,

    Frank

  9. We definately used a private guide in Florence and it was well worth it as he was able to fast track us at some of the sites in Florence which gave us time to explore beautiful towns like San Gimignano.

I would highly recommend Domenico from Private Tour in Italy. I have sent numerous friends to him that have all raved about his knowledge, service and connections.

  10. Another great tour option when in Kotor is Tours by Milo. We used Milo's services a few years back and have since sent him hundreds of happy CC members. Good friends of our are leaving this week on a European tour and will be spending several days with Milo.

If you want someone with a great personality and a passion for his Country, Milo is a great choice.

  11. Hi Traveltheworld,

In regards to finding a taxi in Kotor, that should not be a problem. When we were there a few years back we were fortunate to meet a taxi driver by the name of Milo. He has since gone on to provide more than just a taxi service and his rates are extremely reasonable. Over the years I have sent him hundreds of satisfied cruisers.

  12. We used Domenico from Private tour in Italy. The Amalfi was probably the highlite of our cruise. From the moment that we met him we knew we were going to have a great day. He is from Sorrento and knows the area very well. We toured Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. We had a fantastic lunch at "La Tagliata" high above Positano overlooking the coast.

My daughter and son-in-law also used him last year and very totally impressed. I have since sent him numerous friends and all have had a great time.

    You won't be dissapointed!
