As far as we were concerned San Gimignano was a must see. Beautiful medieval town with a ton of history and what Italy is all about.

We had great success with Domenico from "Private Tour in Italy" We have referred numerous people to him over the years including our daughter and son-in-law a few years ago and my Son and daughter-in-law will be using him this fall.

I am not surprised that you have seen numerous posts about Milo as he is one of the best! I'm glad you were able to book him and you are in for a treat! We used Milo several years ago and I have referred numerous people to him over the years including many friends and family.

Your timing sounds about right as it was pretty close to the schedule that we did. Hard to say on the tender time as it all depends on how busy the port is but you have allowed enough time.

I contacted my friend Milo in Kotor and this was his answer...

"Unfortunately there are no duty free shops in Kotor, in fact the prices are higher since being a port town. The only option is some airport nearby, DBV for example...even our airports are not duty free zone"

Yes that's correct about 1 1/2 hours but totally stunning! What do you have planned for Kotor?

Tragic what's happening in Fort Mac! My heart goes out to all of the people affected. I will be in Calgary next week on business.

To this day one of my most memorable moments was the meal we had at La Tagliata in Positano. Not only was the food great but the view was spectacular! Definitely will return one day.

Tour options for Kotor are extremely reasonable compared to other ports. We used Tours by Milo. We had an exceptional time and have recommended him to numerous CC members over the past couple of years.

In regards to finding a taxi in Kotor, that should not be a problem. When we were there a few years back we were fortunate to meet a taxi driver by the name of Milo. He has since gone on to provide more than just a taxi service and his rates are extremely reasonable. Over the years I have sent him hundreds of satisfied cruisers.

We used Domenico from Private tour in Italy. The Amalfi was probably the highlite of our cruise. From the moment that we met him we knew we were going to have a great day. He is from Sorrento and knows the area very well. We toured Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. We had a fantastic lunch at "La Tagliata" high above Positano overlooking the coast.

My daughter and son-in-law also used him last year and very totally impressed. I have since sent him numerous friends and all have had a great time.

It was not expensive at all. We were 4 people and had lots to eat and 2 bottle of wine and it worked out to about 25 Euro each.
