We haven't done the final payment yet, so we possibly could change the bookings, but I think it will just be easier to charge everything but the HSC to our cabin. For the difference it will make in cruise credits, it isn't worth all the hassle for our TA

Ok, got it. I guess what we can maybe do is make sure we are with them when they want something and charge it to our room. I get it about the HSC. Sorry it has taken me so long to get it through my thick skull.

IN other words it doesn't matter who pays for it ? I guess that is what is confusing me

What I mean is if I booked a cabin with my mariner number and had DD as the second person and DH had a cabin with his mariner number and DGD, wouldn't the charges for both cabins go towards the cruise credits for the main people, i.e. Me and DH

But if the bookings were in our names only with their names only as second persons in the cabin, their charges would go onto the main name on the booking, wouldn't they? Therefore, all charges would go on with my booking number or my husbands booking number

So if we put one booking in my name and the other cabin I my husbands name, would we get the cruise credits for both bookings?

They have a separate booking number, so I guess even though it goes on our CC, we don't get the cruise credits? Hardly makes sense

We are taking DD and DGD on a cruise. They have their own cabin in order to maintain sanity. On the check in page we indicated we would cover their HSC and any charges they accrue. Will that count too?

I am assuming this does not belong on the tipping thread. I am wondering if the money you spend on the HSC counts towards the total money spent during the cruise towards the Mariners state, i.e., a point for every $300 spent.

Just put in a fake booking for our Panama cruise and our Alaskan cruise. Without the Èxplore 4(which we had removed when we booked) the price is up $2000/pp for,our Neptune suite for our Panama cruise. For our Alaskan cruise it has dropped $300/pp without the Explore 4. I would rather save the money and pay for our own drinks. The OBC was only $50 per cabin...next to nothing

We are doing the 11 day Sunfarer in January. I read that the clamshells sell out really fast, so I grabbed one as soon as we booked. We have family members who have been on Half Moon Key and they did not pre rent one. They said that unused ones were all over the place, plus other people were inviting people to join them in theirs. They thought we were crazy to rent one. If you are on our cruise in January, you are more than welcome to join us in ours. The more, the merrier😎.
As far as the other activities, you will get a flier in your cabin before you get into each port with all the available excursions listed. We have found that few are sold out, so we wait to see what we feel like doing(this is after prebooking prior cruises and then wishing we had not). If you go on your roll call for your cruise, you will find some people are arranging activities outside the ship's offerings and you can ask to join those tours as well

I asked that question to the live chat and the answer was it is only charged to the first two people over 21 in the cabin. It would not apply to the rest. We got separate cabins for our DD and DGD and the explore 4 will apply to both

Well said...that is why we continue to return to HAL...comfortable...a relaxing cruise without a lot of extras that we wouldn't use. No loud partying, no wet t shirt contests, nothing intrusive. Just love, love it every time we cruise

We are doing our second Alaskan cruise on HA in May. First one was in 1995. Cruising the inside passage and watching the wildlife was the most amazing thing ever. It was more like floating...no loud motor noises or wind...just gentleness. We were in our 40s then and mainly went into the ports and explored. We did a whale watching and a flyover the glaciers. Both amazing experiences. This time we are taking DD and DGD. They are more adventurous and will like the zip line, hiking, biking and kayaking. You can extend your cruise by going into the interior. We have not done that. Last cruise was out of Vancouver. This time we are doing Seattle and coming in a day early and staying a day after to explore Seattle. Both will be great cruises and you won't be sorry

I have mentioned this on other postings, but we had a bottle in the Pinnacle, didn't finish it and had it capped. The next night in the MDR we asked for the remain elder of the bottle. They could not find it, but gave us a whole bottle of the same wine that night. Who knows what happened to that half bottle?

You can order wine by the glass at dinner. Any beverage, alcoholic or not, up under $8 is included. You cannot order drinks to be delivered to your room, but can order one at the bar and take it to your room. I believe you cannot take advantage of the happy hour specials...but then why do you need to with at $150 limit per day?

Our January Panamal Canal Neptune suite was $1000/pp more with it. Alaska cruise outside cabins was cheaper with it by $50. Go figure

I have to jump in and add to this post. We sailed for first time in 2010(actually the first time was 1995 for my parent's 50th anniversary, but 2010 was just the two of us). I found this board and asked questions that were pertinent to our sailing and received prompt, informative answers. We have sailed since then and I don't come to this board unless we have a cruise scheduled. I have never had an answer to a question that made me skulk off never to return. I do read others postings and have to say that I am quite put off by the postings where they go on about how they are so close and friendly with the captain and crew ya da ya da ya da. I am sure when one does back to backs they do get to know the crew, etc, but it for the rest of us it diminishes our experience somewhat by making us feel less than involved and connected with the cruising experience. Not all of us have unlimited funds and all we want is the best experience we can get with what we have to work with. An appreciation for those of us who are trying to learn how to go about that is needed without a put down

You must have to do that ahead of time and not once you are at that venue. We had a hard time asking for it in the crows nest. The were perplexed when we asked for it

I think the same questions get asked over and over because, as far as I know, there is no way to search if that particular question has already been asked. I know I tried to find a similar post a few days ago and couldn't,most asked the question again

Wondering if you have open seating for dinner, do you have the same wine steward? Is there only one for the MDR?
