Definitely not used to the heat. The sun from exploration time wore me out more than I knew. Had a nice little afternoon nap after late lunch. After that, DW and I took a walk on the beach, sat and watched the waves crash for a bit and headed up to the hotel bar - S OC IAL. We used our 2 free welcome drinks on Pina Coladas. Very tasty. I am trying a local craft brew Blonde Ale from Ocean Lab Brewing. It’s very good. Light but not too light and fizzy. Great warm weather beer. One thing I noticed is the alcohol volume is a range. I am used to the ABV on the being a single number. This can has 4.8-6.8% alc. vol. Thats a pretty decent swing there. Maybe the ol’ google machine can solve this 🤔🧐🤔

Here’s some more sights from exploration time. Beach/lounge time coming up after lunch. Resisted the urge to feed the feral cats. DW wanted to get them cat food at the Walgreens.

Did some exploring/shopping. Lots of stuff in walking distance. Walgreens and CVS are a 6 minute walk( in the opposite direction of the Starbucks) so we could grab some last minute items pre cruise.

Found a starbucks a short walk away. Added San Juan to our “Been There” series coffee mug collection. Current situation: drinking coffee in a shady spot watching waves crash. Temps are ideal right now. Mid 70s in the shade with a light ocean breeze. Pretty hard to beat this. Ill try to upload a short video. IMG_1549.mov

Uber was about $20+ tip. It was super fast and easy. It was only about 10 minutes to Condado Ocean Club.

Checked into the hotel and grabbed a quick bite. Been a long travel day. All bags are accounted for.

Got through the SW cattle call and scored the coveted exit row with only 2 seats. Full flight. Wheels up to MCO.

Stopped for lunch at Bar Symon Kitchen & Taphouse. It’s pretty much our pre- vacation ritual at this point. We split a BLT w/ rosemary fries. Went with the FatHeads Headhunter IPA on draft. One of my faves. Sorry no food pics on this one.

I had pre bought the parking because PIT airport is under a revitalization project aka major construction & economy cheapo parking WILL sell out. Learned that one the hard way. Orange signs galore!! So many in fact it’s sensory overload. Very confusing.

Totally Agree regarding the flights. Our last cruise was on Radiance out of Seward AK. Those flights from PIT to ANC were brutal. These shouldn’t be too bad. Just trying to look forward to the final destination.

Headed for a quick workout. Here’s what we got today…

So in thinking about transportation from the airport to hotel later today I found that San Juan doesn’t have Lyft, only Uber. And taxis of course. For whatever reason I have always used Lyft as my default and apparently never downloaded or setup anything with Uber. I went ahead and got that setup just in case it’s needed later. Hotel estimates around $25 taxi fare (recommended cash payment) from SJU to the hotel. I’ll check Uber prices when we land and go from there.
